Heat Exchanger Network Synthesis
ā¢ Given :
ā A set of hot process streams to be cooled and cold process
streams to heated
ā Flow rates and the inlet and outlet temperatures for all the
process streams
ā The Heat capacities for the streams versus their temperatures as
they pass through the heat exchange process
ā Available utilities, their temperatures, and their cost per unit of
heat provided or removed
ā¢ Determine : the Heat Exchanger Network for energy
recovery that will minimize the annualized cost of the
equipments plus the annual cost of the utilities.
