Prototype Development and Build
Program management, design, engineering, integration,
fabrication and assembly of body, chassis, braking,
electrical, interior and glazing systems. Integration of
Customer provided powertrain and driveline.

Body Structures & Chassis Systems
All structures designed to meet FMVSS Regulatory
requirements for occupant protection, roof crush,
bumper impact and fuel integrity. Suspension,
steering and braking systems designed for optimum
ride and handling performance. All parts designed in
CATIA V4. All analysis/simulation performed in LS
Dyna. Two demonstrator vehicles produced.

15. NORTHROP GRUMMAN EQUIPMENT RACKS
Modular Production Rack System
Program management, design, engineering, fabrication and assembly of a
modular rack system for the mounting of avionics equipment in aircraft. The
rack system provides significant mass savings over previous aluminum
examples, and is partially formed of electrically conductive carbon fiber,
creating a grounding path for electronic equipment.

Modular Production Rack System
Mass target provided by Customer was 40lbs per unit. Final
production unit mass is 14.5lbs (25.5lbs mass saving).
GFMI was honored by Northrop Grumman Mission Systems
following completion of the project for outstanding commitment
and excellent performance.
