This slide is presented in CAADRIA2010 (The 13th International Conference on Computer Aided Architectural Design Research in Asia). The purpose of this study is development of a tool by which citizens who are non-specialists can design a regional revitalization project. Therefore, a 3DCAD/VR (3-Dimensional Computer Aided Design/Virtual Reality) combination system was developed by using SketchUP Pro, GIMP, and UC-win/Road. This system has the advantages of low cost and easy operation. The utility of the system was verified as a result of applying the developed prototype system in the Super Science High School program for high school students created by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, Japan. It has been used for two years, since 2007. In addition, the characteristics of the VR made by the non-specialists were considered.
