Teacher: Mrs. Douglas Favourite Book: The Book Thief Favourite Genre: Historical Fiction
We are about to take off on a literary adventure.  We will begin our voyage in Verona where Romeo and Juliet hide their relationship from their parents who are feuding to the death. We will travel on a journey with David as he runs from the "norms" determined to destroy all mutants. There are many other exciting places to visit and people to meet as we explore the idea of acceptance and the need for tolerance in society.
But first, some housekeeping... Pre-requisite or Co-requisite: NONE Unit Titles and Approximate Time per unit:
Assessment and Evaluation: 70 % Term Assessment 20% Reading and Literature Studies 		20% Writing 		20% Oral Communication 		10 % Media 30 % Final Summative Assessment 20% Exam 		10% Performance Task

A Critical Challenge Examine the photo and with a partner answer the following questions.  Be prepared to defend your conclusions. 1.	Where was this photo taken? 2.	Without making inferences, what is         going on in this photo? 3.  Make some inferences about what is       happening.
