This document summarizes and reviews the English learning website "USA Learns" located at www.usalearns.org. It notes that the site is attractive and easy to navigate, with animations, colors, sounds and effects. The site allows users to register to save progress and contains introductory information on how to use the site and courses. Courses are organized by English level from basic to intermediate to advanced, and some explanations are provided in Spanish. Courses include videos, photos, audio and scripts, and voices and audio are easy to comprehend. In conclusion, the website is well designed and suitable for different ability levels, making it a good resource to use again in the future for personal study or teaching students

1. We have selected the website “USA Learns” whose address is
www.usalearns.org. We checked it on April 27, 2009. At first sight the
site looks very nice and easy to navigate. The animations, colours,
clear sounds and nice effects make this site very attractive from the
beginning. There is an introduction included where you can figure out
how to register in order to save your progress, how start using the
website, how to follow the exercises and contents of the courses, what
to do if you don’t know what to do in a certain moment, etc. There are
3 different types of courses according to your English level; this is very
useful, especially if your English level is not quite good, you can start
from the very basic, or an intermediate or extra practice level, and
there is even an explanation in Spanish if you really do not understand.
The contents and exercises in the courses have in general a lot of nice
material such as videos, photos, audio, etc, and the option to see the
scripts of a dialogue, there might be some words you mishear so this is
a nice issue. We would not change anything of this website, the voices
and the audios sound quite nice, very easy to comprehend, the same
for the website style, how the courses are made and the level of
difficulty they have is suitable. In summary the website is perfect as it
is and we would use it again in the future, not only for ourselves but
for teaching some skills to our students.
