0. Looking at the Big Picture Notes (Letter Sized)William Anderson
The document provides an overview of "the big picture" according to Christianity. It discusses that knowing the big picture helps answer life's big questions by understanding that life is about bringing God glory through following Jesus' example of living for others. The big picture shows that the goal is to expand God's kingdom, the mission is to make disciples through sharing the gospel worldwide, and the ultimate purpose is to glorify God and Jesus so they may be worshipped.
The document discusses the doctrine of salvation according to Baptist theology. It covers four aspects of righteousness: regeneration, justification, sanctification, and glorification. It also addresses salvation from the power of sin and how victory over sin is only possible through the power of the Holy Spirit. Christians still struggle with sin due to their old sinful nature but can find freedom through walking in the Spirit rather than according to their flesh.

In "Looking at the Big Picture" we look at what life is all about according to the Bible by looking at Jesus, the gospel, the church and the mission of the church. This teaching is the introduction to the gospel series "Growing Deep in the Gospel".
This document discusses the importance of developing a prophetic anointing and moving with the glory of God in the last days. It emphasizes praying and interceding prophetically as a watchman. Key points:
1) God has promised to pour out His Spirit and increase prophecy in the last days, and we receive this promise by faith.
2) To develop a prophetic ministry, we must have an intimate relationship with God and minister based on what we see and hear from Him through spiritual eyes and ears opened by the Holy Spirit.
3) Praying and interceding prophetically as a watchman means waiting on God for revelations of His will in heaven and praying accordingly. It involves listening quietly for
The document discusses how Jesus Christ is prefigured and present throughout the Bible from Genesis to Revelation. It argues that Christ should be the central focus and preoccupation of all Christian teaching, preaching, and life. Examples are given of how Jesus is found in the creation account, wilderness wanderings of Israel, the prophets, gospels, Paul's writings, and more. The conclusion encourages readers to have Christ himself occupy their heart rather than peripheral doctrines.

God Pitched His Tent Among Us - John 1:1-14David Turner
The document discusses Jesus as the Creator and how he entered the world to save it. It makes several key points:
- Jesus, the Word, existed before creation and was present during creation, as the Bible says he created all things.
- Though Jesus created the world, he was not recognized when he entered it. Even his own people rejected him.
- For those who received him by believing in him, Jesus gave them the privilege to become children of God, regardless of heritage or following religious laws. This is the only way to become a child of God.
- So the Creator entered the world as a man to live among us and save the world he had created, though the world did
This document provides an overview and summary of 1 John 1:5-2:6. It discusses key points from the passage, including that God is light and without darkness; we cannot claim to have fellowship with God if we walk in darkness; but if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we will have fellowship with one another and Jesus' blood will purify us from sin. It also notes that if we claim to be without sin we deceive ourselves, but if we confess our sins He is faithful and just to forgive us; and that Jesus is our advocate before the Father and the atoning sacrifice for our sins.
The document discusses the holy nature of God, focusing on God's simplicity, unity, and Trinity. It provides three key points:
1) God is simple, without parts and indivisible, though existing as three persons in the Trinity. He is one being in essence according to scripture and church fathers.
2) God is one, not many gods, as shown by scripture calling him the one God and creator. Plotinus' philosophy on the unity and diversity of "The One" is referenced.
3) God exists as the Trinity - one what but three whos. The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are shown throughout the Old and New Testaments. Jesus compares himself to
The document provides commentary and reflections on the Sunday readings for Easter Sunday B, including passages from Acts, Colossians, Psalms, and John. It summarizes and analyzes each reading in 1-2 sentences and offers additional reflections. The overall focus is on how the readings highlight God raising Jesus and Christians seeking spiritual values and faith in the resurrection.
This document discusses the human personality as consisting of spirit, soul, and body. It describes how sin affected each part and led to rebellion, but that salvation allows reconciliation with God. It outlines the functions of the spirit, soul, and body, and how a focus on human leaders can decline into idolatry and the demonic. It emphasizes the need to restore awe of God and avoid Satan's trap of self-focus.

Israel Doctrine Is The Teaching Of Our Mystery SystemIsrael Doctrine
The Israel Doctrine refers to the teachings and instructions given by God to the people of Israel. It describes the oneness of the divine authority of the God of Israel and the principles taught to the ministers and people of Israel. The Israel Doctrine establishes the protocol or order by which God's message is communicated from God to Jesus to angels to the children of Israel to teach the rest of humanity. It refers to the content found in scripture that provides doctrine, reproof, correction and instruction in righteousness.
God's sovereignty refers to his supreme authority over all things. The passage discusses Tozer's view that God decreed humans to have free will while still maintaining his sovereignty. It provides biblical support for God's sovereignty from both the Old and New Testaments, showing how he ordains individual circumstances and choices. While humans plan their actions, God directs their steps and decisions according to his sovereign will.
1. The document discusses the creation of humanity by God and how humans were originally created with spirit, soul, and body living in harmony under the leadership of the spirit.
2. It describes how sin damaged the human spirit's ability to commune with God, leading the spirit to become subservient to the soul and body.
3. It argues that salvation through Christ revitalizes the spirit and allows the Holy Spirit to renew and transform a person so that the spirit is once again the leader with the soul and body in submission.
This lesson from the Gospel of Matthew discusses Jesus' early ministry and key events:
- John the Baptist preached repentance in the wilderness and pointed to Jesus as the Messiah.
- Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by Satan for 40 days. He overcame every temptation by relying on Scripture.
- Jesus began his ministry in Galilee, calling disciples like Simon Peter, Andrew, James and John to follow him and become "fishers of men." They immediately left their work to follow him fully.
The Paschal Mystery refers to Christ's passion, death, resurrection, and ascension. It is central to Christian faith as it relates to God's plan of salvation for humanity. The Paschal Mystery is commemorated in the liturgy and sacraments of the Church, especially the Eucharist. The key events of Jesus' passion included the Last Supper, agony in the garden, trial, crucifixion and death, followed by his resurrection on the third day and ascension into heaven. The Paschal Mystery reminds Christians that through suffering, death and new life are overcome, and it has implications for how they live daily.
Jesus healed many people who came to him suffering from various illnesses and disabilities. He healed the lame, blind, deformed, and mute by curing them when they were brought to him. The crowds were amazed to see these people who were previously unable to speak, walk, or see, now healed. They recognized this as a sign that Jesus had healing powers from God. The document then discusses several specific healing stories from the Bible and examines the factors involved in Jesus' healing ministry, such as faith, belief, humility, and deliverance from evil. It aims to help readers understand Jesus' role as a healer and apply the lessons to their own lives.
Prophecy involves speaking the mind of God under divine inspiration. Effective prophecy will be in line with scripture, glorify Jesus, edify and not divide, love sinners but hate sin, convict without condemnation, present God as the solution, not be controlling, stand the test of time, be tested, be a sign to unbelievers, exhort and comfort others, and be given according to the speaker's faith. Prophecy should build up the body of Christ.
Jesus went to John the Baptist to be baptized. John protested that Jesus should baptize him instead of the other way around. However, Jesus said that baptism was necessary to "fulfill all righteousness." When Jesus was baptized, the sky opened and the Spirit of God descended on him like a dove. A voice from heaven said "This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased."
Prophecy involves perceiving and communicating God's thoughts to mankind through various spiritual gifts and experiences. It can involve visions, dreams, direct revelation, or burden-bearing intercession. Prophets fulfill roles as seers, who discern spiritual realities, or as heralds who preach inspired messages. True prophetic ministry requires developing godly character, operating under leadership accountability, and prioritizing love over personal motives. Prophecy manifests through the Spirit of Prophecy, the gift of prophecy, or the office of a prophet.
During the early stages of Jesus' ministry in Galilee:
1) Jesus began preaching that the kingdom of God was near and calling disciples like Peter, Andrew, James, and John to follow him. 2) He demonstrated his authority over demons and diseases by performing many exorcisms and healings, which amazed the crowds. 3) He controversially healed on the Sabbath and ate with sinners, challenging Jewish traditions and authorities. 4) Jesus formally called the twelve apostles who would be his closest followers as he traveled throughout Galilee teaching and healing.

The slides for the fourth teaching in the "Growing Deep in the Gospel" series. In this study we answer the question "What is the Plan of Salvation?" by focusing on Jesus and answering three other questions: Why do we need Jesus?, What did Jesus do for us? and How do we receive salvation through Jesus?.
This is the material covered in the powerpoint presentation "Looking at the Big Picture" which was a look at what life is all about from a Biblical perspective focusing on Jesus, the gospel, church and mission.
1) The document discusses the humanity and deity of Jesus Christ. It explains that Jesus was fully God and fully man, having both a divine and human nature.
2) As a human, Jesus experienced physical needs like hunger and fatigue. He also had emotions and was tempted but did not sin. However, as God, Jesus performed miracles and had divine attributes.
3) The humanity of Jesus was important because it allowed him to reveal God to humans, be our sinless sacrifice, understand our temptations, and fulfill prophecies about the messiah. His resurrection proved that his life and death were accepted by God as the means to save humanity.
This document provides an overview of the humanity and deity of Jesus Christ based on a sermon given on Easter Sunday. It discusses how Jesus was fully God and fully man, explaining the theological concept of the incarnation. It explores Jesus' dual nature as revealed through his physical attributes and emotions as a man, as well as his divine works and relationship with God the Father. The sermon emphasizes why Jesus' humanity was essential for him to serve as the perfect sacrifice and mediator between God and humanity.
1. The church is not a building but a gathering of people called by God for a purpose.
2. God's purposes for the church are for it to be the bride of Christ, house of the Father, body of Christ, and family of the Father.
3. The ultimate goal and mission of the church is to glorify God and Jesus by proclaiming the gospel, making disciples, and spreading God's love and kingdom to all people.
The second study in our "Growing Deep in the Gospel" series in which we answered the question, "What is the Gospel?" In answering the question we looked at how the word "gospel" was used in Jesus' day and how the Bible describes the gospel. We also looked at what is the heart of the gospel, a outline of the basic gospel message and an outline of the gospel based on the entire Bible.
The document discusses why people refuse to believe in Jesus and the essential components of the gospel message. It explains that people refuse to believe because their hearts are sinful and they love darkness rather than light. It then outlines the gospel as: 1) Humans are sinful and spiritually dead, deserving God's wrath. 2) Jesus lived a perfect life, died on the cross to pay for sins, and rose again. 3) To be saved, one must repent of sins and place faith in Jesus. The gospel brings forgiveness and restores a right relationship with God.
This is second in the Easter series called Jesus, God's Terminator--a man from the future sent back to earth to rescue people from much evil.
The video version of these slides ( with a great embedded video) for this is at https://youtu.be/BRlzH99EVAg
The video of the sermon is at https://youtu.be/dXHKi_t1Dnw
The document summarizes key points about God's plan of salvation according to the book of Revelation in the Bible. It explains that sin entered the world through Adam and Eve, bringing death, but God sent Jesus to die in our place and free us from sin and death. It calls this God's "everlasting gospel" or good news. It encourages accepting Jesus' sacrifice by believing, confessing sins, and letting Him be Lord of our lives in order to receive salvation, forgiveness and eternal life.
The document provides an overview of the gospel message in 3 parts:
1) It explains why we need Jesus due to our sin and its consequences of judgment and hell.
2) It describes what Jesus did for us through his sinless life, death on the cross, and resurrection to pay for our sins and defeat death.
3) It discusses how we can receive eternal life through faith in Jesus and repentance from sins.
The document outlines the "Big Picture" of the gospel and church. It explains that the gospel is the good news of what God has done through Jesus Christ to restore his rule over creation and bring reconciliation to all who repent and trust in Jesus. The church is defined as God's people saved by his power for his purposes, to serve as an outpost of Jesus' kingdom and make his invisible kingdom visible through grace and the Holy Spirit. The Big Picture shows that everything is about Jesus, from creation to salvation to the purpose of the church, which exists to proclaim the gospel to the world.
The document discusses the importance of understanding the "big picture" of life, which is knowing God's overarching plan and purpose as revealed in the Bible. It helps answer life's big questions and allows us to focus on what truly matters rather than being confused or worldly. While cultural influences can distract from God's will, the big picture is all about Jesus, as seen through his life, death for our sins, resurrection, and future return. Understanding the gospel message of salvation through faith in Christ is key to comprehending our purpose of living for God rather than ourselves.
This document provides an overview of a class on the gospel and what it means to be a Christian. It discusses:
- The gospel is the good news about God's salvation through Jesus Christ. It tells the story of God's kingdom and how Jesus redeems humanity.
- All people are sinners deserving of God's judgment, but Jesus lived a perfect life and died for sins so all who believe in him can be forgiven and saved.
- To become a Christian, one must admit they are a sinner, believe in Jesus as savior, consider fully committing their life to him, and trust in him alone for salvation rather than any good works.
- Being a Christian means having a
The second study in our "Growing Deep in the Gospel" series in which we answer the question, "What is the Gospel?" In answering the question we looked at how the word "gospel" was used in Jesus' day and how the Bible describes the gospel. We also looked at what is the heart of the gospel, a outline of the basic gospel message and an outline of the gospel based on the entire Bible.
The Trinity refers to the Christian belief that God exists as three persons in one entity: God the Father, God the Son (Jesus Christ), and God the Holy Spirit. It is a core concept in Christianity, as it is the basis for all Christian beliefs and is explained by Jesus himself. While the concept of the Trinity may seem contradictory, the Bible provides truth and understanding about the connections between the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
This document discusses Jesus from his birth as a baby to his roles as creator, savior, empowering lord, and final judge. It notes that though Jesus lived and died as a man, he was fully God, the Word made flesh. As a baby, Jesus was dependent and helpless like any other, but he was also the creator of all things. While he came to save humanity from sin, he will also one day return to judge the living and the dead, offering salvation to those who believe in him.
If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.
This document discusses the key aspects of Christianity according to the author. It begins by asking life's big questions about identity, purpose and how to fulfill one's purpose. It then argues that the answers are found in Jesus, who created and sustains all things and will one day judge humanity. The rest of the document outlines the importance of the gospel, church and mission, explaining that the gospel is about God's work through Jesus to restore his rule, the church is God's people called to display his wisdom, and the mission is proclaiming the gospel to others.
This document provides an introduction to the Woody Nook community, including summaries of their faith, history, and organization. It outlines several topics covered such as their common testimony, story, living together in Christ, and organizational structure. It also includes sections on finding comfort in God, basic confessions of faith, stories from the Bible, and how to become a Christian. The overall document serves as an overview of the theological beliefs and communal life at Woody Nook.

The poem expresses that humans are not designed to be independent or self-sufficient, but are meant to rely fully on God. It lists many things people tend to rely on instead of God, such as their own wisdom, desires, possessions, and judgment. The reflection emphasizes that living outside of our intended design as beings dependent on God leads to negative consequences, while aligning our lives and hearts with our purpose of relying on God brings positive effects.
Here are the notes from my sermon on July 8, 2018. We looked at why we should make Jesus known and how we can do that. In the last part of the sermon, I focused on how we can share our testimony.
This document provides guidance on how to share one's Christian testimony. It discusses why sharing a testimony is important, including because Jesus commanded it and it is an effective way to glorify God and share the gospel. It then offers an outline for constructing a testimony, including sections on one's life before committing to Jesus, how they came to faith, and how their life has changed since following Jesus. The document concludes by providing best practices for sharing a testimony, such as keeping it focused on Jesus, being humble, and practicing delivery.
The document discusses what the gospel is and why it is important. It defines the gospel as the good news that Jesus rescues people from sin and its consequences through his life, death, and resurrection. This salvation involves justification, sanctification, and glorification. The gospel is God's power to save all who believe in Jesus as the Son of God. False gospels focus on other things besides Jesus or contradict the Bible. The true gospel centers on Jesus and is foundational to Christianity.
The document discusses following one's heart with opposing views presented. It suggests following your heart will be fine, while also noting the heart can be deceitful and difficult to understand according to a Bible verse. The short document presents two contrasting perspectives on following one's heart without making a clear recommendation.

Jesus conquered Satan's reign over the world through his supernatural birth, sinless life, sacrificial death, and glorious resurrection. By his resurrection, Jesus confirmed he was the Son of God and had overcome sin, death, and hell, restoring God's reign over creation and allowing rebellious people to be reconciled to God. We must believe this good news, turn from rebellion to God, trust in Jesus as our king, and follow and obey him.

The Gospel is Not Advice for Self-Improvement (A4)William Anderson
The gospel is not about self-improvement, but rather is a declaration that Jesus is King and that people are in rebellion against God. Though people deserve hell for their sins, Jesus reconciled people to God through his sinless life, death, and resurrection. Not only can people be saved from hell, but they can become part of God's family forever. To be reconciled to God, one must confess their sins and rebellion against God, trust that Jesus took their sins and gave his righteousness, and surrender their life to follow and obey Jesus as their King. By doing this, one can experience the full life that God intended both now and forever.
The Gospel is Not Advice for Self-Improvement (Letter-sized)William Anderson
The gospel is not about self-improvement, but rather is a declaration that Jesus is King and that people are in rebellion against God. Though people deserve hell, Jesus reconciled people to God through his sinless life, death, and resurrection. People can now be part of God's family forever in heaven. To be reconciled, people must recognize their rebellion against God, confess their sins, and surrender to Jesus by trusting in what he did to restore their relationship with God. When they do this, Jesus takes their sins and gives them his righteousness, and the Holy Spirit empowers them to live for God. Their life then belongs to Jesus, and they should follow, obey, and worship him to experience life as

It seems that current missionary work requires spending a lot of money, preparing a lot of materials, and traveling to far away places, so that it feels like missionary work. But what was the result they brought back? It's just a lot of photos of activities, fun eating, drinking and some playing games. And then we have to do the same thing next year, never ending. The church once mentioned that a certain missionary would go to the field where she used to work before the end of his life. It seemed that if she had not gone, no one would be willing to go. The reason why these missionary work is so difficult is that no one obeys God’s words, and the Bible is not the main content during missionary work, because in the eyes of those who do not obey God’s words, the Bible is just words and cannot be connected with life, so Reading out God's words is boring because it doesn't have any life experience, so it cannot be connected with human life. I will give a few examples in the hope that this situation can be changed. A375

04. What is the Plan of Salvation notes (Letter Sized)
1. What is the Plan of Salvation?
Take a hold of the gospel, so Jesus can take a hold of you!
Keeping the big picture in mind is important as we look at the gospel. Because it reminds us what
is truly important in life and shows how the gospel influences every part of the big picture.
The Big Picture Mission Goal Purpose
Jesus Bringing glory to Jesus and the Father
Expanding the Kingdom of God
Gospel Church Mission
Making disciples of all nations
Last time – What isn’t the Gospel?
Jesus + Anything = Nothing
Everything - Jesus = Nothing
Jesus + Nothing = Everything
Important to Remember! Spirit + Truth
We can present the plan of salvation clearly yet without the Holy Spirit nothing will happen. This
is why prayer is so important.
1 Thessalonians 1:5
because our gospel came to you not simply with words but also with power, with the Holy Spirit
and deep conviction…
John 16:7-8
But in fact, it is best for you that I go away, because if I don’t, the Advocate won’t come. If I do go
away, then I will send him to you. And when he comes, he will convict the world of its sin, and of
God’s righteousness, and of the coming judgment.
What is the Plan of Salvation?
The Gospel vs. The Plan of Salvation
While the gospel and the plan of salvation are connected and overlap they are not the same
exact thing. The plan of salvation is what we do in order to receive the benefits of the gospel for
ourselves.
Salvation = Rescue (being rescued from our sin and restored to God through all Jesus did)
We are lost in an ocean of sin. We need to be rescued from our sin.
God’s Plan
Before God created the universe He already had a rescue plan ready to deal with sin.
Revelation 13:8
…the Lamb who was slain from the creation of the world.
2. 1 Peter 1:19-20
but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect. He was chosen before the
creation of the world, but was revealed in these last times for your sake.
Understanding the Plan - Why What How

PLAN OF SALVATION DETAILS
Why Do We Need Jesus? – We have a problem! SIN
Psalm 51:4
Against You, and You alone have I sinned…
Romans 3:23
for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God
2
3. 1 John 3:4
Everyone who sins is breaking God’s law, for all sin is contrary to the law of God.
Sin is denying God His rightful place in your heart and life and seeking to be your own god by
making something else more important to your significance, purpose, and happiness than God.
SPIRITUAL DEATH – separated from God, He is the only source of life.
Romans 6:23
For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.
Ephesians 4:18
They are darkened in their understanding and separated from the life of God because of the
ignorance that is in them due to the hardening of their hearts.
Colossians 1:21
Once you were alienated from God and were enemies in your minds because of your evil
behavior.
PHYSICAL DEATH
Hebrews 9:27
Just as people are destined to die once, and after that to face judgment,
JUDGEMENT, HELL, WRATH OF GOD
Revelation 20:11-15 – Judgment – Hell – Lake of Fire
11 Then I saw a great white throne and Him who sat on it, from whose face the earth and the
heaven fled away. And there was found no place for them. 12 And I saw the dead, small and
great, standing before God, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is
the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were
written in the books. 13 The sea gave up the dead who were in it, and Death and Hades
delivered up the dead who were in them. And they were judged, each one according to his
works. 14 Then Death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. 15
And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire.
Luke 12:5 - Hell
But I’ll tell you whom to fear. Fear God, who has the power to kill you and then throw you into
hell. Yes, he’s the one to fear.
John 3:36 – Wrath of God (divine judgment and punishment)
He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son shall not
see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.”
ETERNAL DEATH
2 Thessalonians 1:7-9 – Eternal death (eternally separated from God)
7…This will happen when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven in blazing fire with his
powerful angels. 8 He will punish those who do not know God and do not obey the gospel of our
Lord Jesus. 9 They will be punished with everlasting destruction and shut out from the presence
of the Lord and from the majesty of his power
What Did Jesus Do for Us? Provided the only solution to our problem.

4. John 1:1-3 – Created the universe
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was
with God in the beginning. 3 Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made
that has been made.
Colossians 1:15-17 – Created the universe
15 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. 16 For by him all things
were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or
rulers or authorities; all things were created by him and for him. 17 He is before all things, and in
him all things hold together.
Matthew 1:23 – Born of a Virgin
“The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel” (which means
“God with us”).
John 1:14 – Became a man
The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of
the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.
Colossians 2:9 – Became a man
For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form
Hebrews 4:15 – Without Sin
For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all
points tempted as we are, yet without sin.
John 1:29 – Lamb of God
The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, “Behold! The Lamb of God who
takes away the sin of the world!
Mark 15:24-25 – Went to the Cross
And they crucified him. Dividing up his clothes, they cast lots to see what each would get. It was
the third hour when they crucified him.
2 Corinthians 5:21 – Took Our Sins
For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of
God in Him.
Matthew 27:45-46 – Was Separate from the Father
45 At noon, darkness fell across the whole land until three o’clock. 46 At about three o’clock,
Jesus called out with a loud voice, “Eli, Eli, lema sabachthani?” which means “My God, my God,
why have you abandoned me?”
Isaiah 53:4-5 – Took Our Punishment
Surely He has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; yet we esteemed Him stricken, smitten
by God, and afflicted. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our
iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed.
1 John 2:2 – Satisfying God’s wrath – propitiation (turning away of wrath by an offering)
And He Himself is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the whole world.
Romans 5:9 – Saved Us from Wrath
Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through
Him.

5. John 19:30 – Finished His Work
So when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, “It is finished!” And bowing His head, He
gave up His spirit.
Philippians 2:8 – He Died in Our Place
… And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the
point of death, even the death of the cross.
John 19:40-42 – He was Placed in a Tomb
40 Following Jewish burial custom, they wrapped Jesus’ body with the spices in long sheets of
linen cloth. 41 The place of crucifixion was near a garden, where there was a new tomb, never
used before. 42 And so, because it was the day of preparation for the Jewish Passover and since
the tomb was close at hand, they laid Jesus there.
Mark 16:4-6 – He Rose from the Dead (Resurrection)
4 But as they arrived, they looked up and saw that the stone, which was very large, had already
been rolled aside. 5 When they entered the tomb, they saw a young man clothed in a white robe
sitting on the right side. The women were shocked, 6 but the angel said, “Don’t be alarmed. You
are looking for Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He isn’t here! He is risen from the dead!
Look, this is where they laid his body.
Acts 1:9 – Ascended to heaven
Now when He had spoken these things, while they watched, He was taken up, and a cloud
received Him out of their sight.
Acts 2:33 – Seated at the right hand of the Father
Now he is exalted to the place of highest honor in heaven, at God’s right hand. And the Father,
as he had promised, gave him the Holy Spirit to pour out upon us, just as you see and hear
today.
Ephesians 1:20-22 – Seated at the right hand and will rule in the age to come
…which he exerted in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand
in the heavenly realms, far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every title that
can be given, not only in the present age but also in the one to come. And God placed all things
under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church,
1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 – The return of Jesus
16 For the Lord himself will come down from heaven with a commanding shout, with the voice of
the archangel, and with the trumpet call of God. First, the Christians who have died will rise from
their graves. 17 Then, together with them, we who are still alive and remain on the earth will be
caught up in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. Then we will be with the Lord forever.
Philippians 2:9-11 – Jesus is made Lord of all
9 Therefore, God elevated him to the place of highest honor and gave him the name above all
other names, 10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and
under the earth, 11 and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the
Father.
How Do We Receive Salvation through Jesus? By repentance and faith.
Acts 20:20-21 – Repentance and faith
… how I kept back nothing that was helpful, but proclaimed it to you, and taught you publicly and
from house to house, testifying to Jews, and also to Greeks, repentance toward God and faith
toward our Lord Jesus Christ.
5
6. Acts 3:19 – Repentance (to turn in our hearts from sin back to God)
Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing
may come from the presence of the Lord,
Philippians 3:9 – Faith (to place one’s trust and confidence in Jesus and all He did)
and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that
which is through faith in Christ—the righteousness that comes from God and is by faith.

Now to him who is able to establish you in accordance with my gospel, the message I proclaim
about Jesus Christ, in keeping with the revelation of the mystery hidden for long ages past, but
now revealed and made known through the prophetic writings by the command of the eternal
God, so that all the Gentiles might come to the obedience that comes from faith—to the only wise
God be glory forever through Jesus Christ! Amen.
