The second lesson considering figurative language and God’s order (first natural, then spiritual) focusing our attention on the bread from heaven (manna and Jesus) and the eating of His flesh, which leads us to consider the communion. We’ll find that in partaking of the bread and fruit of the vine we share with Christ. Like baptism, the supper may involve physical elements, but has a spiritual significance.

The document discusses Jesus' blood and its power to give eternal life. It provides several Bible verses from the books of John, Genesis, 1 Thessalonians, Hebrews, 1 Peter, and Psalms that describe how drinking Jesus' blood and eating his flesh provides everlasting life, allows people to abide in Jesus and Jesus in them, and cleanses and sanctifies people. It emphasizes that Jesus' blood is more powerful than any other sacrifice in providing access to God.
The document discusses Jesus' statement "I am the bread of life" and how it was misunderstood by the masses. It provides context around metaphors and figurative language. It then summarizes in three parts:
I. The masses misunderstood Jesus, thinking he meant physical bread, not recognizing their spiritual need he sought to meet.
II. Nourishment comes from God, with manna as a past example and Jesus as the true bread sent from heaven to give eternal life to the world.
III. Jesus' word is our spiritual nourishment, with eating his flesh referring to believing and consuming scripture, not literal flesh, as prophets consumed God's word. The document examines relevant
The document discusses Jesus' statement that "I am the bread of life". It provides three key points about what Jesus meant by this:
1. He satisfies - Only Jesus can completely satisfy our spiritual hunger and thirst. He fills the emptiness in our lives.
2. He saves - Salvation is only found in Jesus. Through faith in him, we can be saved from impossible situations, even being saved from hell.
3. He sustains - If we eat the bread of life, Jesus will sustain us forever with all that we need. In Christ, we will lack nothing and he will strengthen and protect us.
Jesus Christ is the source and giver of all life. He created all things and upholds all creation. In Him was life originally and He is the author and sustainer of both physical life and eternal life. Live the Eternal life as a Witness to the world - John 17.3Evert Jan Hempenius
This document provides an analysis of John 17:3. It contains the following key points:
1. Jesus is not defining immortality in this verse but rather praying for believers to live eternally through faith in God and Jesus now in this world as witnesses.
2. Eternal life involves a personal relationship with and knowledge of God through Jesus, not just an afterlife. It is a life lived in communion with God.
3. While science seeks immortality by extending lifespan, only faith in God through Jesus provides true eternal life that continues beyond physical death.
Jesus performs a sign by feeding over 5,000 people with just five loaves of bread and two fish. The people seek him out, but Jesus says they follow him because of the free food rather than because of the spiritual significance of his signs. Jesus tells them not to work for perishable food but for eternal life through believing in him, the bread of life sent from God. When questioned further, Jesus says that to do God's work is to believe in him, and that he is the true bread from heaven, not the manna the Israelites ate in the wilderness. He says that unless people eat his flesh and drink his blood, they have no life, and promises eternal life to all who do so.

This document provides an overview of Christian beliefs about sanctification and death. It discusses how sanctification is a progressive work by God and man that makes Christians more like Jesus. It will not be complete until heaven but involves both passive surrender to the Holy Spirit and active cooperation through obedience. The document also addresses that physical death came through sin but is defeated by Christ, so Christians do not need to fear death, since it means being with God.
The crowd that had eaten the loaves the previous day searched for Jesus when they realized he was gone. When they found him, Jesus rebuked them for following him because of the food instead of the signs. He declared that he was the bread of life that came down from heaven, which caused many disciples to lose faith and leave him. Peter affirmed their continued faith in Jesus as the holy one of God who alone has the words of eternal life.
The document provides readings for a Bible study on the Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ. The first reading from Deuteronomy describes how God tested the Israelites in the desert by afflicting them with hunger but feeding them with manna. The second reading from 1 Corinthians says that receiving communion is participation in the body and blood of Christ that unites believers. The Gospel reading from John presents Jesus as the bread of life who says his flesh and blood are true food and drink and that one must eat and drink of him to have eternal life.
This document summarizes passages from the Gospel of John. It includes a memory verse from John 4:24 about worshipping God in spirit and in truth. It then summarizes exchanges between Jesus and a Samaritan woman, where he tells her about living water that will become a spring welling up to eternal life. Jesus explains to her that a time is coming when people will worship the Father in spirit and in truth. The document also lists new lessons learned from John, including a new sacrifice through the Lamb of God, a new temple in Christ's body, a new birth of the spirit, and a new living water and place of worship that are not defined by physical locations.
This document discusses the eternal life that God has promised. It notes that eternal life comes only from God, not from humans, and that God promised eternal life before the world began. It encourages believers to have faith in Jesus Christ, repent of sins, confess that Jesus is the Son of God, and be baptized in order to receive eternal life.

Many disciples leave Jesus after he teaches that he is the bread of life come down from heaven. When Jesus says that no one can come to him unless drawn by God the Father, many disciples stop following him, finding this teaching too difficult. Jesus asks the twelve apostles if they will also leave, to which Peter replies that they believe Jesus has the words of eternal life. However, Jesus acknowledges that one of the twelve, Judas Iscariot, is a devil who will betray him.

1) The document summarizes a sermon given on Genesis 22:1-14, which recounts God testing Abraham by commanding him to sacrifice his son Isaac.
2) The sermon argues that this story foreshadows God sacrificing his son Jesus, and that Abraham believed God could resurrect Isaac, showing he had faith in the gospel.
3) It notes similarities between this story and Jesus' death and resurrection prophesied in the Old Testament, and says Abraham's obedience through faith made it possible for God to fulfill his promises.
God tests Abraham's faith by commanding him to sacrifice his son Isaac on Mount Moriah. Abraham takes Isaac and wood for the burnt offering and travels to the appointed place. When Isaac questions the lack of animal for sacrifice, Abraham responds with faith that God will provide. At the mountain, Abraham binds Isaac and places him on an altar but an angel stops Abraham before he sacrifices Isaac. Looking up, Abraham sees a ram caught in nearby bushes that God has provided as the sacrifice instead of Isaac. Abraham names the place Jehovah-Jireh, meaning "the Lord will provide." The story is a foreshadowing of God providing his own son Jesus as the ultimate sacrifice.

All people will be judged by God and face eternal consequences for their sins. Those who accept Jesus will have their names written in the Book of Life and receive eternal life, while those who do not accept Jesus will be thrown into eternal punishment and the lake of fire. Believers will also be judged to determine rewards for their deeds done during their lifetime on Earth.
This document discusses the biblical holy days that God established for the Israelites. These holy days included Passover, Unleavened Bread, Firstfruits, Feast of Weeks, Feast of Trumpets, Day of Atonement, and Feast of Booths. The holy days served to remind the Israelites of God's works, provide times to meet with God, and were prophetic pictures of God's unfolding plan. Jesus fulfilled the meaning and purpose of several of these holy days through his life, death, and resurrection. Leviticus teaches about God's holiness and requirements for fellowship with him through sacrifices and rituals, which pointed ahead to the perfect work and permanent sacrifice of Jesus Christ.
Jesus shares a final Passover meal with his disciples before his crucifixion. He tells them this will be the last time they celebrate the Passover and announces that the bread and wine will now symbolize his body and blood in the new covenant. Despite the betrayal and uncertainty ahead, Jesus uses the meal to strengthen his disciples and establish the tradition of Holy Communion. The disciples argue about which of them is greatest, but Jesus teaches them that true greatness comes from humility and service.
God will renew all of creation, including creating new heavens and a new earth. All believers faithful to Jesus Christ will live forever with him in the holy city of New Jerusalem. The new heavens and earth will be free from sin, death, mourning or pain. The New Jerusalem descending from heaven will be the eternal home for believers, featuring twelve gates, foundations, and being a place of perfect communion with God.
The document discusses Communion and the importance of remembering Jesus' sacrifice through taking bread and wine. It quotes passages from 1 Corinthians instructing believers to partake in Communion to remember Jesus until his return. It says taking Communion improperly without self-examination makes one guilty of Jesus' body and blood. The purpose of Communion is to remember, rejoice, repent, and reconcile with God and others. Prayers included ask for forgiveness and strength to serve God.

New Testament Survey - no.9: Luke - His Gospel AccountClive Ashby
As part of the Course on the New Testament, Session 9 provides an overview of the writing of Luke - His Gospel on the life of Christ. (This is part of the New Testament Survey Course taught at Harare Theological College - 2016)
There are many people out there who want to start keeping the Feasts of YaHuWaH, but they don't know where to start.
Many write to me asking about how they can keep the Passover without attending a Jewish Synagogue.
Well, here is the answer! I have put together a Renewed Covenant Passover Haggadah in English for beginners and I have removed all traditions that do not line up with scripture.
Also, the Haggadah has the true name of the Father, YaHuWaH and the son Yahuwshuwa ha'Mashiyach!
The Gospel of Luke presents Jesus as the savior of all people. It was written by Luke, a historian and companion of Paul, for Theophilus to provide an orderly account of Jesus' life and teachings. Key themes are salvation for all nations, the role of prayer, praise and the Holy Spirit. The gospel follows Jesus' journey from Galilee to Jerusalem and concludes with his resurrection.

Creating a gender responsive learning environment also involves undertaking sensitization activities for students, parents, and community members; establishing counseling services; and providing gender equitable infrastructure and support for students.
The document provides a chronological summary of the events surrounding Jesus' crucifixion over several days, beginning with the Passover meal and Jesus washing the disciples' feet and ending with his burial. It details his prayers in the garden, arrest, trials before Annas, Caiaphas, Pilate and Herod, crucifixion, death and burial. The conclusion emphasizes the importance of believing and standing firm in the gospel message of salvation through Jesus Christ.
Luke's Gospel provides a historical narrative that presents Jesus Christ as the perfect divine man and son of man. It was written around 60-70 AD by Luke, a companion of Paul who was a physician from Greece. The Gospel was addressed to Greeks and emphasizes Jesus' words over his deeds. It portrays God's love and Jesus as the savior of all people. The Gospel details Jesus' life from his birth and advent to his ministry in Galilee and Perea and final crucifixion and resurrection.
Jesus teaches the crowd that true spiritual fulfillment comes not from physical bread or religious rituals, but from believing in him as the bread of life sent from heaven. He redirects the people's priorities away from material things that don't last and toward eternal life received through faith in him. Jesus asserts that just as physical life depends on eating bread, spiritual life depends on eating his flesh and drinking his blood in a metaphorical sense of believing in him.
The bread of life discourse is not where Jesus institutes the Lord's Supper, though the truth underlying the Lord's Supper is present. Rather, this passage from John 6 relates to having communion with God through Jesus (ie. fellowship with) more than partaking of the elements of communion (the Lord's Supper). When we have communion with God we learn to trust Him despite having some unanswered questions, and we discover that He is enough, whether the material blessings are there or not. Jesus is God's provision for life, both now and eternally.
Please Note: Slides accidentally missed John 6:52-54.
I. Jesus feeds over 5,000 people with just five loaves of bread and two fish. There are twelve baskets of leftovers after everyone has eaten their fill.
II. Jesus tells the crowd that believing in him, the one sent from God, is the true work that leads to eternal life. Their ancestors ate manna in the wilderness but still died, whereas the bread from heaven, Jesus, gives eternal life.
III. Jesus declares that he is the bread of life come down from heaven, and that one must eat his flesh and drink his blood to have eternal life. He promises that all who feed on him will live forever through him.
The document contains passages from the Gospel of John describing Jesus feeding a large crowd and then teaching about being the "bread of life." After Jesus feeds 5,000 people with five loaves of bread and two fish, the crowd searches for him the next day. Jesus tells them they seek him only because of the food, not because of miraculous signs. He teaches that people should work for eternal life, which the Son of Man will give. When asked for a sign, Jesus says he is the bread that came down from heaven and that whoever eats of this bread will never die. He promises to give his flesh for the life of the world. Some argue how Jesus can give them his flesh to eat. Jesus explains that unless
Bread Of Life. The first in a series on the "I AM" sayings of Jesus Christ.Ed Sullivan
The document discusses Jesus' declaration that he is the "bread of life" from the gospel of John chapter 6. It provides context that Jesus said this after feeding a large crowd with just a few loaves of bread and fish. Jesus states that whoever believes in him will never hunger or thirst. The Jews question this because they know Jesus' family, but he emphasizes that God has sent him. Jesus doubles down that one must eat his flesh and drink his blood to have eternal life, which confuses and offends many of his disciples.
Message Series - I AM - Part 3 - I AM The Bread Of Life - Pastor Chuck Bernal...LifePointe Church
There is no crowd too big, need too small, or problem too deep for Jesus to address. The pastor discusses how Jesus fed thousands but the people only followed him for selfish reasons like miracles and gifts. Jesus calls them to seek eternal life instead of temporary things. He declares "I am the Bread of Life" and says whoever believes in him will never be spiritually hungry or thirsty again. Jesus explains that he came from heaven to do God's will and give eternal life to all who believe in him. He says that just as the Israelites ate manna in the desert but still died, he offers himself as the true bread from heaven that gives eternal life to all who partake of him.

This message was delivered at LifePointe Church in Crowley, TX on Sunday, February 26, 2017.
The document discusses different views on the role of the church in serving the poor between evangelicals and liberals in the 20th century. Evangelicals focused on spiritual salvation and proclaiming God's word, while liberals emphasized material salvation and doing God's works through helping the poor in this life. The document then provides several passages from the Bible about Jesus performing miracles and declaring that he is the bread of life who gives eternal life.
The document discusses Jesus' statement that "I am the bread of life" from the Gospel of John. It provides context from the verses where Jesus makes this statement and explains what it means. Jesus states that he satisfies spiritual hunger, saves those who believe in him, and sustains their lives forever as the bread that came down from heaven. This document provides a summary and analysis of John 6:1-71 from a sermon delivered at First Baptist Church in Jackson, Mississippi. It discusses several key events and teachings from the passage:
1) Jesus feeds over 5,000 people with just five loaves of bread and two fish, demonstrating His power and identifying Himself as the "Bread of Life".
2) Jesus walks on water, further showing His divine nature and ability to calm storms.
3) Jesus teaches that believing in Him, rather than works or rituals, is what God requires for salvation and eternal life. He declares "I am the bread of life" seven times in John's gospel.

Jesus was born of a virgin, Mary, through miraculous conception by the Holy Spirit. He is the Son of the Highest, called the Mighty God, Everlasting Father, and Prince of Peace. His mission was to redeem all people from every kindred, tongue, people and nation back to a relationship with God through his death and salvation. The good news of his birth and life applies to all people regardless of status or background.

1) Jesus delivers a discourse known as the Bread of Life to a crowd in Capernaum, telling them that he is the bread that came down from heaven and that all who eat of this bread will never be hungry or thirsty.
2) Some in the crowd question how Jesus, a man they know, can say he came down from heaven, showing their misunderstanding. Jesus explains that only those drawn by God will understand.
3) When Jesus states explicitly that he is the bread of life and that people must eat his flesh and drink his blood, many disciples complain and stop following him. Peter affirms his belief that Jesus has the words of eternal life.
1 Peter 3:13-22: As Peter continues to encourage us through our exile, he reminds us that though we my suffer and come to harm, God wants to bless us. So we don’t have to fear or be troubled, we keep Jesus in our hearts as Lord, and we tell others of our hope. The example of Christ reminds us that Jesus suffered also, but was blessed.

1 Peter 1:13 - 2:3: Because we have been ransomed through Jesus and we are anticipating the revelation of Jesus, Peter helps us understand three keys in how we spend our time in exile: 1) preparing your minds for action; 2) being sober-minded; and 3) having your hope set fully on God’s grace. https://youtu.be/QEXw_qG0SfE

Acts 7:20-29: Moses sought to be with his brothers but they rejected him. And he was exiled. Cain refused to care for his brother, and he was alone. But it’s not good for man to be alone. Why do we slip into the thinking of Cain so easily and find ourselves alone? Being brothers is not easy, but let brotherly love continue.
Of all the metaphors for believers, the one most often used in the NT is “adelphos” (siblings, brothers and sisters). After Jesus’ ascension the company who gathered in the upper room consisted of both men and women, and Peter calls all of them brethren. In Acts 15, both Jewish believers and Gentile believers are called brethren.

The document discusses Jesus Christ's relationship to believers as their brother. It notes that Christ partook of flesh and blood to become like his brothers in every way so that he could be a merciful and faithful high priest to help those who are tempted. As the Son of God, Christ calls believers his brothers and sisters and shares in their humanity so that he can bring many sons and daughters to glory. The document encourages believers that as holy brothers and sisters of Christ, they share in his heavenly calling from God.

It seems that current missionary work requires spending a lot of money, preparing a lot of materials, and traveling to far away places, so that it feels like missionary work. But what was the result they brought back? It's just a lot of photos of activities, fun eating, drinking and some playing games. And then we have to do the same thing next year, never ending. The church once mentioned that a certain missionary would go to the field where she used to work before the end of his life. It seemed that if she had not gone, no one would be willing to go. The reason why these missionary work is so difficult is that no one obeys God’s words, and the Bible is not the main content during missionary work, because in the eyes of those who do not obey God’s words, the Bible is just words and cannot be connected with life, so Reading out God's words is boring because it doesn't have any life experience, so it cannot be connected with human life. I will give a few examples in the hope that this situation can be changed. A375
