Year III Semester I
Community survey guidelines
1. Use epidemiological process in studying a community / agency
2. Identify the community characteristics , the health needs and problems of its
population
3. Select an agency/ wilayat/ village/ for the study
4. obtain consent from the wilayat/ village/ agency
5. Prepare a map of the area showing the landmarks
6. Obtain a sampling frame from the community profile
7. Select a sample from the population using appropriate sampling techniques
8. Collect data on the survey tool provided for six samples
9. After data collection analyze the data collected
10. Use a master sheet for tabulating the data
11. Participate in writing the interpretation and findings
12. Formulate community diagnosis
13. communicate the survey findings to other students
14. Submit the report in final form
Research report:
1. Introduction-problem significance and back ground
2. Research problem
3. Research purpose
4. Literature review
5. Frame of reference
6. Research objectives/ questions/hypotheses
7. Research design
8. Informed consent activities
9. Sampling procedures-population, sampling criteria, sampling frame, sampling
approach& sample size
10. Pilot study
11. Data collection methods
12. Data analysis
13. Interpretation of results/ findings/ conclusions/ implications / recommendations
