1. Midterm Reflections
Type your Midterm Reflection. It should be approximately one page in length
and contain the following:
Talk about what you have learned in spanish class this quarter. Say what you can
do (topics you can communicate on), what you've enjoyed, what you've had
trouble with, what you need to improve upon, and list strategies to improve.
Post this to your blog and to your MHS (iWeb portfolio)
I have learned a lot this semester. In Nebraska, Spanish 1 was spread out across
6-8th grade, 1/3rd of the year every other day in 6th, every other day in 7th and
every day in 8th, so it is a change to be learning so many new things in a much
shorter amount of time.
Before this class I didn’t know all these verbs and verb changes. Commands
especially, tú commands, tú negative commands, usted commands, all of them
are new. That is the main thing, but also many new nouns. I knew many nouns
already that we learned this year as well, but many new ones have expanded my

vocabulary. I can now talk about activities I do, the doctors office, my body,
things in and around the house, and food much better than before, but not yet
fluent and with out hesitation, maybe thats coming in the future.
I have enjoyed the people in the class, which unfortunately results in me talking
a little too much and losing much needed participation points. Another thing I
have had trouble with is studying. I usually am able to get by with out studying,
but now that there is so much that we are learning I need to start studying more.
Unfortunately, I have no studying skills, and need to start to create some of my
own. The vocab lists and speaking cards you hand out are set up perfectly, and
they’ve definitely helped me study. Another thing I have enjoyed is the use of
technology, but I also have found the technology annoying. I enjoy it because it
makes learning easier, and faster, but worse because of the blogs and portfolios.
In my opinion, they are a complete waste and just add extra work that is
unnecessary. I am not a teacher so I wouldn’t know, but I would think having
drop boxes would be much easier.
