Editor's Notes
The first thing that I did in order to meet CRAP principals was give the new PowerPoint a theme. This dressed the slide up a bit using a reputation of color and created contrast. I also simplified the picture. The original picture was grainy and had too much going on. The current picture is clear, simple, and straight to the point.
Again, simply adding a theme with some color helps students to become more engaged in the PowerPoint. Using a green theme correlates directly with the topic of plants. The alignment on this page helps students to stay focused don the content. The green arrows help the words to seem more interesting. Whereas, before they were regular bullets and all the words were a bit boring and ran together.
On this slide I increased the font side of the main text to create more uniformity between slides. On the original slide the main text was much smaller and harder to read. I also aligned the text to correspond with the diagram at the bottom creating uniformity across the slide. I used repetition by bolding important words or phrase.
Again, on this slide I increased the main text font to the same size as on previous slides. I also repeated the font styles and colors. I also increased the size of the photos and aligned them with the main text. The theme for this PowerPoint is heavy on the right side and by moving the photos over I am able to create better balance. I also reduced the wording on the slide.
On this slide I increased the font size on the main text. Reduced the amount of text and broke it down into bullets instead of sentences. I also added a second image. The second image helps to contrast the first in terms of what the text is saying as well as in its size.
