This document provides two discussion questions about human impact on biodiversity. The first asks to choose one question and discuss three examples of how daily human living degrades biodiversity through at least one major component. The second asks to describe what could happen if a major biodiversity component was eliminated, providing two examples of occurrences and suggesting ways to avoid biodiversity loss.

Human Impact on Biodiversity
The major components of the earth’s biodiversity are outlined in
your Mini Lecture: Biological Diversity and Evolution. Review
these and discuss three examples of how people, in their daily
living, intentionally or unintentionally degrade at least one of
these types of biodiversity.
Impact of Biodiversity Loss
Describe what you think could happen if one of the major
components of the earth’s biodiversity were somehow
eliminated completely. In your response, provide at least 2
examples of occurrences and suggest ways that biodiversity loss
can be avoided.
