About Steel Testing
Steel Testing • Steel is probably one of the most essential materials in the record of the last millennium, and probably the most essential in the XXI millennium. • Steel is an alloy of iron and carbon, which carbon is present in a percentage less than 2%. • The steel manufacturing process begins with cast iron, removing its impurities of this, and reducing the percentage of the principal component of the alloy that is coal.
• Tensile testing performed on a stainless steel tensile specimen to failure using a computerized tensile test machine. • An extensometer measures yield strength at different loads. These measurements are used to compute strain.

Steel Testing • Steel is probably one of the most essential materials in the record of the last millennium, and probably the most essential in the XXI millennium. • Steel is an alloy of iron and carbon, which carbon is present in a percentage less than 2%. • The steel manufacturing process begins with cast iron, removing its impurities of this, and reducing the percentage of the principal component of the alloy that is coal.
