Outdoor NEW
To prepare for this discussion:
• Read Standard #9 in the in the NAEYC Early
Childhood Program Standards (Links to an external
site.)
• Review the five bullet points providedat Standard 9:
Physical Environment (Links to an external site.)
As the new teacher’s assistant at Bright Futures Early
Learning Center, your teacher and director see so
much potential in you. Because of this, they would like
you to help with administrative tasks as well as work
with the children in the infant to Pre-K facility.
Your director knows that your current classroom is
meeting NAEYC Standards; however, they want you
to help enhance this classroom and the facility so
Bright Futures Early Learning Center earns a 5-star
rating.
Using a Word Document, a scratch piece of paper, or
any other sketching tools, brainstorm a very basic
outdoor space that can work for all ages. Carefully
consider NAEYC Standard #9 as you build your
outdoor space.
In your initial post,
• Describe the space that you created and justify your
design using NAEYC Standard #9.
• Address all five bullet points from Standard #9:
Physical Environment and discuss how your design
meets each requirement.
• To help give your peers a visual of your idea, attach
the image of your design to your discussion response.
(This is recommended, but not required.)

Prior to beginning work on this discussion, read
Contemporary Issues in Licensing: Building and
Physical Premises Safety in Childcare (Links to an
external site.). The Fire Department recently
completed an inspection of the Bright Futures Early
Learning Center and unfortunately you did not pass
inspection.
The following infractions were listed:
• Non-working smoke alarms were found
• Objects (artwork) hung from the ceiling impede
smoke alarm productivity
• Multiplug adapters were found in multiple outlets
• Obstructions in the hallways
• Hazardous materials found within reach of children
(bleach)
• No fire escape route plan in multiple rooms
• Playgroundground cover not dense enough to break
a child’s fall
For your discussion response, choose three violations
and
• Explain why these violations are considered
infractions.
• Create a plan to rectify these prior to inspection.
• Explain how these infractions will be monitored so
they do not happen again.

Prior to beginning work on this discussion, review
Standard#5 in the NAEYC Early Childhood Program
Standards document (Links to an external site.). You
did such a fabulous job helping your facility get into
tip top shape! Now it is time to take this a step further
and help your parents become activemembers of their
child’s education.
Choose the age-level classroom that is ideal for you
(pleasebe consistentthroughout the course and choose
the same age group): Infancy (birth -12 months),
Toddlers (1-3 years), or Early Learning (4 -5 years).
Please be sure to list your choice of age-level in the
subject line of your discussion post.
Once you have chosen your classroom level, create or
find a game or activity that can be played at your
Parents Night. This game or activityshouldteach your
families aboutthe importanceof one task or skill such
as hand washing, cleaning toys, or snacks and meals,
etc. Your activityshouldreflect NAEYC Standard # 5.
In your discussion post, include the age level of your
classroom, title of the activity, the ways in which you
will present this to the parents, and why you think this
is important.
Your activitymust involveboth your parents and their
child. You must also include music to compliment or
enhance your activity.

ECE 207 Week 2 Discussion Question 2 Illness Flyer
NEW
Priorto beginning work on this discussion, review the
Illness Flyer example.
Using the classroom age group you chose in the last
discussion, create a flyer or poster to share with
parents addressing the following standard: There is a
clear plan for responding to illness, including how to
decide whether a child needs to go home and how
families will be notified.
Based on the information in Chapter 6 of the
Gadizikowki (2013) text, create a classroom poster
relaying the informationnecessaryto let parents know
the policy and procedures if a child is sick at school.
Use Microsoft Word, Publisher, PowerPoint, or
another program of your choice to create this poster.
Be sure your poster includes the following items:
• All possible symptoms that would warrant a call
(including temperature).
• The amount of time parents are given to pick up
their child after they receive a call.
• A clear plan that will be followed if the parents
cannot be reached.
• How the child will be cared for until pick up.
• Consequences for parents who are non-compliant.
• Be sure to include one image to represent the
content.
Be creative with your poster, but also be sure to
develop your content in a professional classroom
manner. Make sure it is organized, colorful, and easy
to follow. As a reminder, this will be distributed to
parents and displayed in the classroom, therefore it
must be free of grammatical errors. Please see the
attached PDF to see an example of this flyer.
In your response, attach your illness flyer and write:
how did you make decisions surrounding your
policies? Explainyour choices and justificationin your
written response to give your peers a better idea of
your rationale. Additionally, explain how you made
the flyer and your experience with the actual
development of the flyer.

ECE 207 Week 3 Assignment Ethical Scenarios NEW
Prior to beginning work on this assignment, read the
NAEYC Code of Ethical Conduct and Statement of
Commitment (Links to an external site.).
Those who work with young children often face
difficult ethical decisions. You are realizing your
center has various situations that compromise the
code, but unfortunately your lead teacher and a few
others within the center don’t see the issues the same
way you do. They have given you the opportunity to
justify your rationale and create a potential plan to
rectify the situations.
Review the scenarios below and choose two situations
to rationalize and resolve for your lead teacher and
colleagues. Use the NAEYC Code of Ethical Conduct
and Statement of Commitment (Links to an external
site.) as a guide to make recommendations and
identify rationale. There are four areas of ethical
responsibilities: children, families, colleagues, and
community and society. Be sure to select scenarios
from different areas.
Scenarios:
#1: Your center has a rule that no outside food is to be
brought in for snack or lunch for a child under any
circumstances. While your weekly menus often
support the diverse needs of the learners, you now
have a student who has extreme sensitivities and
allergies. When trying to create the menu, you are
realizing that the other students would need to eat
unbalancedmeals and would begin lacking the proper
nutrition. You have asked your teacher about this rule
to see if it can be changed for this situation and she
said no.
#2: One child is having a hard time adjusting to class
and his mom would like to stay a littlebit longer in the
beginning of class to help him get familiar and
comfortable. You were allowing this and it was
working very well, however your directorhas now told
you that this is not allowed. Parents are required to
drop off their kids and leave immediately after.
#3: A little girl is having issues with another little boy
in the class. They often fight with each other and
recently she told you that he always tries to touch her
and watch her in the bathroomand she doesn’t like it.
You took this very seriously, however your director
told you that she is only five years old so it’s nothing to
worry about. You believe you should contact both
parents in this situation, but the director argues that
the parents will think you aren’t doing a good job
watching them.
#4: You have a few children in your class with various
cultures and religions. Some of these conflict directly
with the holiday calendar that your teacher has
created. You’ve asked your teacher if you can modify
the activities to help bring in all of the cultures of the
families and she turned you down. One parent has let
you know that they have issues with Christmas due to
their own religion, howeveryour teacher said, “This is
the way it’s always been.”
#5: You proposed curriculum surrounding manners
and helping others. You believe this curriculum is
importantfor the age you are working with, as a lot of
the kids don’t seem to understandthe basic principles.
Your teacher isn’t open to the change, but you are
seeing more and more selfish behaviors and think this
type of curriculum could really make an impact on
their lives. Most of your kids come from families
where parents work at least two jobs, so you believe
they just don’t have the time to teach their kids these
basic principles.
To complete your assignment, identify each
component below for each scenario:
• Summary of the scenario and justification that
proves how this situation is unethical (rely heavily on
the NAEYC Code of Ethical Conduct and Statement
of Commitment here and point to specific
principles within the code).
• Identify appropriateresources to use for the scenario
and the individuals necessary to inform.
• Create a plan to not only solve the problem now, but
also to prevent it from occurring again in the future.
In your paper,
• Include an introduction and a conclusion.
• Summarize both scenarios and the specific code
numbers that were compromisedwithin the scenarios.
• Identify the proper individuals necessary to inform.
• Determine appropriateresources for both scenarios.
• Explain the steps necessary to problem solve each
scenario.
The Ethical Scenarios Paper
• Must be three to five double-spaced pages in length
(not including title and references pages) and
formatted according to APA style as outlined in the
Ashford Writing Center (Links to an external
site.)’s APA Style (Links to an external site.)

ECE 207 Week 3 Discussion Question 1 Staff Meeting
NAEYC Code of Conduct NEW
Priorto beginning work on this discussion, review the
NAEYC’s Code of Conduct and Statement of
Commitment. (Links to an external site.)
You are quickly impressing your lead teacher and
director. Your director sees such promise in you that
she has asked you to help her prepare for an upcoming
staff meeting. Although you are nervous, you are
excited for the opportunity and you truly want to
impress them!
The director has been made aware that a few policies
are not being enforced or were not made clear. She
wants you to help her tackle this issue in the upcoming
faculty meeting. You have heard a few people
complaining about these specific policies, so you are
excited to tackle the project. You hope that your
contribution to the faculty meeting can help get
everyone on the same page.
As you dig into the policies, you begin to realize that
some policies aren’t followed because some staff
believe these policies do not benefit the children and
do not wish to engage with them. You have an ethical
responsibility to your colleagues, children, families,
and community to advocate against policies that do
not benefit the children, so you must carefully
consider these policies before presenting at the staff
meeting.
Policy #1: Instruction will not change from student to
student. All students are to be treated like equals and
instructions will not be modified under any
circumstances. Often times in life accommodations
aren’t made and we want to set our children up for
success.
Policy#2: On water day, each kid must have a pair of
water shoes that are rubber bottoms and purchasedby
the parents. If the child does not have them, they are
not allowed to engage with water play and must
remain in the classroom while their peers are outside.
Before you write your response, make sure to review
Chapter 10 of the Gadzikowski (2013) text, in regards
to advocacy and the NAEYC Code of Conduct and
Statement of Commitment to be clear on your
obligations as an early childhoodprofessional. In your
discussion, answer the following questions for both
policies individually:
• Is this policy ethical? Why or why not?
• If it is ethical, how will you get all staff on the same
page and begin to enforce the policy? Be specific and
consider revising the policy slightly to get more staff
“buy in.”
• If it is not ethical, how do you plan to be an
advocate?Be specific with your step by step approach
and address who you will contact and what your plan
is to bring awareness.

ECE 207 Week 4 Assignment Workplace Issues NEW
Your center and classroom are faced with many
different workplace issues. While your director is
working as quickly as she can, she can’t handle all of
her responsibilities without your lead teacher. To
demonstrate that you can handle helping, your
director has asked you to take on some of the common
workplace issues and create plans to resolve them.
Your solutions will help her determine whether or not
you are ready to solve problems within your own
facility. Choose three of the four following issues and
create proposalsto resolve the issue. Be sure to utilize
your textbook and answer all of the questions within
the scenarios.
Scenario #1: Funding
Although you work in a private facility and your
parents pay for their child’s care and learning, there
are never enough funds to purchase materials you
need to complete special projects. You have been
supplementing your classroom by purchasing these
items yourself because you want your students to have
these special experiences, however, this is beginning to
be a financial drain. This year, you still have five more
special experiences that you were planning, but sadly,
you can no longer afford to pay for these purchases.
What do you do going forward?
Scenario #2: Safety
You work for a Head Start facility and therefore you
receive government funds to assist with the upkeep of
your facility. However, you notice that the side door is
not shutting and locking correctly. The only way this
door can be shut is with someone on each side of the
door with a key. The front is always monitored by
your director or a part-time receptionist and the back
door leads to the secure playground. In light of the
recent school tragedies, you are nervous about the
door not lockingand believe this is a safety issue. You
ask your director if this can be fixed and she tells you
that the facility does not have the money right now to
do this. How can you problem solve this situation?
Scenario #3: New Community Center
There is a new community center down the street and
they are very interested in working with your facility.
They have a fabulous idea of creating a partnership
with the seniors that utilize their center, however, they
are not sure the best way to integrate these volunteers.
In efforts to collaborate, they have asked you to create
a class that will meet once a week. You are thrilled
that you have volunteers that want to work with your
little ones, however there is a lot that needs to be done
before the class can begin.
• Choose the age-level classroom that is ideal for you:
• Infancy: Birth – 12 months
• Toddlers: 1-3 years
• Early Learning: 4 - 5 years
• Design a concept that can be done on a weekly basis
with your children and the seniors from the
community center. Explain all that needs to be done
before the interaction begins.
Scenario #4: Children with special needs
You have a new student in your facility who is on the
autism spectrum. You have never worked with a child
with this disorder and you are not sure how to handle
this behavior as compared to the other children in
your classroom. Explain how you should go about
determining the best way to deal with this child in
your classroom. Explain all possible options and
resources so that this child and the rest of your class
has the best possible educational experience.
In your paper,
• Include an introduction and a conclusion.
• Choose three scenarios to write about.
• Explain, in detail, why the scenariosyou have chosen
are problematic.
• Prepare three plans that you believe would solve the
three issues you have chosen.
• Completethe unique, individual questions related to
each scenario.

NEW
Prior to beginning work on this discussion, read
The Importance of Accurate Record Keeping
(Links to an external site.) and Standard #6 in the
NAEYC Early Childhood Program Standards
(Links to an external site.) document.
Your lead teacher is so impressed with how you
are working with the students, she is now going to
introduceyou to a few of the administrativeduties
that are also a part of the teacher’s job.
Whileyour lead teacher is an incredible educator,
her record keeping skills are less than ideal. She
has a table full of stacks of papers: portfolios,
checklists, check-in and check-out daily records,
anecdotal records, daily logs of each child’s
behavior, and art work. Although she has a good
sense of where everything is, you remind her that
she will be out for the next month and therefore it
would be best if the stacks were better organized.
During your discussion, your director comes in
and tells you that you have four meetings to
prepare for this week.
Meeting #1: Licensing will be here to review our
records to ensure that our check-in and check-out
records are accurate.
Meeting #2: Liam’s parents will be in to discuss
his behavior. They have been noticing that he has
become quite angry at home and they are sure
that something is happening at school to warrant
this behavior.
Meeting #3: Licensing will also be verifying any
child injuries that have taken place in your
learning environment. They have had a report
from a parent stating that their child was hurt at
school and they were not notified.
Meeting #4: The lead teacher that your students
will transition to in the fall will be meeting with
you to review your students. She wants to be
prepared for these students. Please list the
documents you need to gather in preparation for
this meeting. Explain why you chose the
documents you did.
Review the following list to determine which
documents need to be pulled for each meeting and
then write your discussion response.

• Explain your rationale behind your selections
and discuss any documents that weren’t as easy to
file.
• Share two methods of record keeping that you
would utilize in your own classroom. There is no
need to re-invent the wheel – resources like
Pinterest and Google are a great place for
inspiration. Discuss the two methods, how these
will help keep your documents organized, and
why you selected them.
• Feel free to include a link to the resources that
explain the method in more detail.

Using the classroom age group you chose in the last discussion, create a flyer or poster to share with parents addressing the following standard: There is a clear plan for responding to illness, including how to
  • 25. decide whether a child needs to go home and how families will be notified. Based on the information in Chapter 6 of the Gadizikowki (2013) text, create a classroom poster relaying the informationnecessaryto let parents know the policy and procedures if a child is sick at school. Use Microsoft Word, Publisher, PowerPoint, or another program of your choice to create this poster. Be sure your poster includes the following items: • All possible symptoms that would warrant a call (including temperature). • The amount of time parents are given to pick up their child after they receive a call. • A clear plan that will be followed if the parents cannot be reached. • How the child will be cared for until pick up.
  • 26. • Consequences for parents who are non-compliant. • Be sure to include one image to represent the content. Be creative with your poster, but also be sure to develop your content in a professional classroom manner. Make sure it is organized, colorful, and easy to follow. As a reminder, this will be distributed to parents and displayed in the classroom, therefore it must be free of grammatical errors. Please see the attached PDF to see an example of this flyer. In your response, attach your illness flyer and write: how did you make decisions surrounding your policies? Explainyour choices and justificationin your written response to give your peers a better idea of your rationale. Additionally, explain how you made the flyer and your experience with the actual development of the flyer.

ASH ECE 207 Week 3 Assignment Ethical Scenarios Recent (2 Papers) Check this A+ tutorial guideline at http://www.uopassignments.com/ece-207- ash/ece-207-week-3-assignment-ethical- scenarios-recent For more classes visit http://www.uopassignments.com ECE 207 Week 3 Assignment Ethical Scenarios NEW Prior to beginning work on this assignment, read the NAEYC Code of Ethical Conduct and Statement of Commitment (Links to an external site.). Those who work with young children often face difficult ethical decisions. You are realizing your center has various situations that compromise the code, but unfortunately your lead teacher and a few
  • 28. others within the center don’t see the issues the same way you do. They have given you the opportunity to justify your rationale and create a potential plan to rectify the situations. Review the scenarios below and choose two situations to rationalize and resolve for your lead teacher and colleagues. Use the NAEYC Code of Ethical Conduct and Statement of Commitment (Links to an external site.) as a guide to make recommendations and identify rationale. There are four areas of ethical responsibilities: children, families, colleagues, and community and society. Be sure to select scenarios from different areas. Scenarios: #1: Your center has a rule that no outside food is to be brought in for snack or lunch for a child under any circumstances. While your weekly menus often support the diverse needs of the learners, you now have a student who has extreme sensitivities and
  • 29. allergies. When trying to create the menu, you are realizing that the other students would need to eat unbalancedmeals and would begin lacking the proper nutrition. You have asked your teacher about this rule to see if it can be changed for this situation and she said no. #2: One child is having a hard time adjusting to class and his mom would like to stay a littlebit longer in the beginning of class to help him get familiar and comfortable. You were allowing this and it was working very well, however your directorhas now told you that this is not allowed. Parents are required to drop off their kids and leave immediately after. #3: A little girl is having issues with another little boy in the class. They often fight with each other and recently she told you that he always tries to touch her and watch her in the bathroomand she doesn’t like it. You took this very seriously, however your director told you that she is only five years old so it’s nothing to worry about. You believe you should contact both parents in this situation, but the director argues that
  • 30. the parents will think you aren’t doing a good job watching them. #4: You have a few children in your class with various cultures and religions. Some of these conflict directly with the holiday calendar that your teacher has created. You’ve asked your teacher if you can modify the activities to help bring in all of the cultures of the families and she turned you down. One parent has let you know that they have issues with Christmas due to their own religion, howeveryour teacher said, “This is the way it’s always been.” #5: You proposed curriculum surrounding manners and helping others. You believe this curriculum is importantfor the age you are working with, as a lot of the kids don’t seem to understandthe basic principles. Your teacher isn’t open to the change, but you are seeing more and more selfish behaviors and think this type of curriculum could really make an impact on their lives. Most of your kids come from families where parents work at least two jobs, so you believe
  • 31. they just don’t have the time to teach their kids these basic principles. To complete your assignment, identify each component below for each scenario: • Summary of the scenario and justification that proves how this situation is unethical (rely heavily on the NAEYC Code of Ethical Conduct and Statement of Commitment here and point to specific principles within the code). • Identify appropriateresources to use for the scenario and the individuals necessary to inform. • Create a plan to not only solve the problem now, but also to prevent it from occurring again in the future. In your paper, • Include an introduction and a conclusion.
  • 32. • Summarize both scenarios and the specific code numbers that were compromisedwithin the scenarios. • Identify the proper individuals necessary to inform. • Determine appropriateresources for both scenarios. • Explain the steps necessary to problem solve each scenario. The Ethical Scenarios Paper • Must be three to five double-spaced pages in length (not including title and references pages) and formatted according to APA style as outlined in the Ashford Writing Center (Links to an external site.)’s APA Style (Links to an external site.) • Must include a separatetitle page with the following:

  • 37. You are quickly impressing your lead teacher and director. Your director sees such promise in you that she has asked you to help her prepare for an upcoming staff meeting. Although you are nervous, you are excited for the opportunity and you truly want to impress them! The director has been made aware that a few policies are not being enforced or were not made clear. She wants you to help her tackle this issue in the upcoming faculty meeting. You have heard a few people complaining about these specific policies, so you are excited to tackle the project. You hope that your contribution to the faculty meeting can help get everyone on the same page. As you dig into the policies, you begin to realize that some policies aren’t followed because some staff believe these policies do not benefit the children and do not wish to engage with them. You have an ethical responsibility to your colleagues, children, families, and community to advocate against policies that do not benefit the children, so you must carefully
  • 38. consider these policies before presenting at the staff meeting. Policy #1: Instruction will not change from student to student. All students are to be treated like equals and instructions will not be modified under any circumstances. Often times in life accommodations aren’t made and we want to set our children up for success. Policy#2: On water day, each kid must have a pair of water shoes that are rubber bottoms and purchasedby the parents. If the child does not have them, they are not allowed to engage with water play and must remain in the classroom while their peers are outside. Before you write your response, make sure to review Chapter 10 of the Gadzikowski (2013) text, in regards to advocacy and the NAEYC Code of Conduct and Statement of Commitment to be clear on your obligations as an early childhoodprofessional. In your
  • 39. discussion, answer the following questions for both policies individually: • Is this policy ethical? Why or why not? • If it is ethical, how will you get all staff on the same page and begin to enforce the policy? Be specific and consider revising the policy slightly to get more staff “buy in.” • If it is not ethical, how do you plan to be an advocate?Be specific with your step by step approach and address who you will contact and what your plan is to bring awareness.

While your director is working as quickly as she can, she can’t handle all of her responsibilities without your lead teacher. To demonstrate that you can handle helping, your director has asked you to take on some of the common workplace issues and create plans to resolve them.
  • 41. Your solutions will help her determine whether or not you are ready to solve problems within your own facility. Choose three of the four following issues and create proposalsto resolve the issue. Be sure to utilize your textbook and answer all of the questions within the scenarios. Scenario #1: Funding Although you work in a private facility and your parents pay for their child’s care and learning, there are never enough funds to purchase materials you need to complete special projects. You have been supplementing your classroom by purchasing these items yourself because you want your students to have these special experiences, however, this is beginning to be a financial drain. This year, you still have five more special experiences that you were planning, but sadly, you can no longer afford to pay for these purchases. What do you do going forward? Scenario #2: Safety
  • 42. You work for a Head Start facility and therefore you receive government funds to assist with the upkeep of your facility. However, you notice that the side door is not shutting and locking correctly. The only way this door can be shut is with someone on each side of the door with a key. The front is always monitored by your director or a part-time receptionist and the back door leads to the secure playground. In light of the recent school tragedies, you are nervous about the door not lockingand believe this is a safety issue. You ask your director if this can be fixed and she tells you that the facility does not have the money right now to do this. How can you problem solve this situation? Scenario #3: New Community Center There is a new community center down the street and they are very interested in working with your facility. They have a fabulous idea of creating a partnership with the seniors that utilize their center, however, they are not sure the best way to integrate these volunteers.
  • 43. In efforts to collaborate, they have asked you to create a class that will meet once a week. You are thrilled that you have volunteers that want to work with your little ones, however there is a lot that needs to be done before the class can begin. • Choose the age-level classroom that is ideal for you: • Infancy: Birth – 12 months • Toddlers: 1-3 years • Early Learning: 4 - 5 years • Design a concept that can be done on a weekly basis with your children and the seniors from the community center. Explain all that needs to be done before the interaction begins. Scenario #4: Children with special needs
  • 44. You have a new student in your facility who is on the autism spectrum. You have never worked with a child with this disorder and you are not sure how to handle this behavior as compared to the other children in your classroom. Explain how you should go about determining the best way to deal with this child in your classroom. Explain all possible options and resources so that this child and the rest of your class has the best possible educational experience. In your paper, • Include an introduction and a conclusion. • Choose three scenarios to write about. • Explain, in detail, why the scenariosyou have chosen are problematic.
  • 45. • Prepare three plans that you believe would solve the three issues you have chosen. • Completethe unique, individual questions related to each scenario. The Workplace Issues Paper • Must be five to seven double-spaced pages in length (not includingtitle and references page) and formatted according to APA style as outlined in the Ashford Writing Center (Links to an external site.)’s APA Style (Links to an external site.) • Must include a separatetitle page with the following: o Title of paper o Student’s name

Whileyour lead teacher is an incredible educator, her record keeping skills are less than ideal. She has a table full of stacks of papers: portfolios, checklists, check-in and check-out daily records, anecdotal records, daily logs of each child’s behavior, and art work. Although she has a good sense of where everything is, you remind her that she will be out for the next month and therefore it would be best if the stacks were better organized. During your discussion, your director comes in and tells you that you have four meetings to prepare for this week. Meeting #1: Licensing will be here to review our records to ensure that our check-in and check-out records are accurate.
  • 50. Meeting #2: Liam’s parents will be in to discuss his behavior. They have been noticing that he has become quite angry at home and they are sure that something is happening at school to warrant this behavior.
