1.1 INFORMATION ON RATING PLATES
(20.08.2002)
Copy of information on rating plate is enclosed in Appendix 1A (in this chapter).
1.2 SPECIFICATIONS
(05.01.2010)
The de-icing unit is manufactured on a standard chassis, on which Vestergaard Company
A/S has altered machine room, tanks and boom.
Enclosed in Appendix 1B (in this chapter) you will find a list with specifications on the deicing
unit.
The de-icing unit has been manufactured according to EN 1915-1 and EN1915-2 regarding
the general requirements for airport equipment as well as to EN 12312-6 regarding the specific
requirements for de-icing units. All standards are based on the Machinery Directive,
06/42/EEC.

1.1 DATA ABOUT RATING PLATES
(20.08.2002)
You will find a copy of data about rating plates in Appendix 1A of this chapter.
1.2 SPECIFICATIONS
(05.01.2010)
We made the de-icing unit on a standard chassis, and changed the machine room, tanks and boom.
You will find a list with specifications on the de-icing unit in Appendix 1B of this chapter.
We use the EN 1915-1, EN 1915-2, and EN 12312-6 specifications to make the de-icing unit. EN 1915-1 and EN
1915-2 are about general requirements for airport equipment. EN 12312-6 is about specific requirements for de-
icing units. All specifications use the Machinery Directive, 06/42/EEC 2006/42/EC.

1.3 APPLICATIONS AND LIMITATIONS
The de-icing unit is designed for aircraft de-icing and anti-icing. It is designed to operate on
any type of aircraft within the limits of the valid de-icing/anti-icing procedures of the airport
in question.
The following conditions must be observed whenever the de-icing unit is operated:
• the de-icing unit must under no circumstances be used with wind speeds of more than
20.5 m/s;
• The de-icing unit shall never be used in any cirumstances with a cabin load which exceeds
the maximum payload given in the cabin and in enclosure 1B.
• the boom must never be raised from its rest when ground slope is more than 3°;
• the boom must not be in raised position when the chassis passes an area with a ground
slope of more than 3°;
• never try stunt driving with the de-icing unit;
• always be aware of conditions affecting the safety as well as the stability and overall
operation of the de-icing unit, e.g. buildings, aircraft and humans.

1.3 OPERATION AND LIMITS
The de-icing unit has aircraft de-icing and anti-icing functions. It operates on all aircraft types in
the limits of the correct de-icing/anti-icing procedures of the applicable airport.
Before you operate the de-icing unit, obey these rules:
• Do not use the de-icing unit ith wind speeds of more than 20.5 m/s.
• Do not use the de-icing unit when the cabin load is more than the maximum payload in the cabin
and enclosure 1B.
• Do not lift the boom when ground slope is more than 3°.
• Do not lift the boom when the chassis moves in an area with a ground slope of more than 3°.
• Do not do stunts with the de-icing unit.
• Always know the conditions that affect the safety, stability, and overall operation of the de-icing
unit: location of buildings, aircraft and persons.

In short, operators must realize that
STUNT DRIVING AND HORSEPLAY SHALL NOT BE PERMITTED WITH THIS UNIT
In spite of a careful constructing and detailed calculating, situations causing danger to humans
or material occur, for example by:
• inappropriate use of the de-icing unit;
• lack of training of operators;
• incorrect/missing service of the de-icing unit;
All are situations against which we cannot provide completely when constructing and designing.
It must therefore be emphasized that any use of the de-icing unit requires a thorough
reading of and compliance with manuals, service specifications, instructions for operation,
as well as ongoing training of operators and authorized service staff members.
In view of safety matters the operators must make a refractometer test of sprayed fluid
for each de-icing operation. By that the operators make sure that the fluid sprayed was
the correct one.

WARNING: STUNTS AND WILD BEHAVIOUR ARE NOT PERMITTED.
Although we make sure that our de-icing units are very safe, dangerous situations can
occur in these conditions:
• incorrect operation of the de-icing unit
• insufficient operator training
• incorrect or missing servicing of the de-icing unit
Before you use the de-icing unit, read and obey all written instructions in the operation
manuals and service specifications. Operators and authorized staff members must have
continuous training. For safety, operators must do a refractometer test of the fluid spray
for each de-icing operation. This is to make sure that the correct fluid spray was used.
