2. What is the genre of this book?
The genre of this book is fantasy. This book
is packed with Greek mythological
creatures, gods, goddesses, and so much
more!

3. So, what is the setting?
Through out the book, Percy is at Camp Half-Blood Hill, a
camp where all half – blood children attend. Half –
Blood children are kids who have a mortal and a Greek
god or goddess as their parents. For example,
Annabeth’s mom is Athena, goddess of wisdom and
battle strategy, and her dad is a human being. Also, the
weather in this book’s setting was very stormy because
the gods were mad at each other. This book was written
in present tense, and most of it was in California.

4. Hmm…. Tell me what happens in
the story…
Percy Jackson, a boy gets kicked out of boarding
school… again. However, that is the last time he is
going to be in trouble. Lately, mythological creatures
and the gods of Mount Olympus seem to be
everywhere in Percy’s life, so he goes to Camp Half -
Blood Hill. This camp does not allow mortals to enter,
so he ends up going alone without his mother. 
Then, Percy is told that Zeus’s master lightning bolt
has been stolen, and Percy is the prime suspect. Now
Percy and his friends have ten days to find and return
Zeus’s stolen master lightning bolt and bring peace to
Mount Olympus. However, to succeed on this quest,
Percy will have to do much more than find the
lightning thief!!!!

6. What is your favorite character? 
My favorite character is Grover, a satyr. A satyr is a
half man and half goat living creature. He was one
of the friends who joined Percy on his quest to find
the stolen master lightning bolt. Grover is a very
funny, and kind-hearted person. Even though he
could not walk properly like a normal human with
his goat legs, he still protected Percy from
the monsters who wanted to kill Percy.
Also, since he is a satyr, he eats tin cans
and makes the “blah blah” noise that a goat makes.


7. Recommendation time!
I would recommend this thrilling book to both girls
and boys because it is packed with unexpected
surprises, suspense, and of course, adventure.
This book has “ An adventure quest with a hip
edge”, according to the School Library Journal. I
connected my life to this book in numerous ways.
One of them, was between me and Percy. In the
book, Percy was not very good in reading books.
Just like him, I am not very good at math. To sum
up, once you start reading this novel, you will
never put it down – because it is that awesome! 
