awareness, adoption and usage of various offerings for
video services.

Executes Video content placement and promotion with a
keen focus to increase brand visibility.

Client Acquisition and Management.
Vendor Management.

5. What is a typical day (or week) like for you?
A: Days when there are no shoots:
(Data Management)Collecting data of the completed
shoot from my photographers and videographers
Photo Editing through softwares like lightroom and
Photoshop
Allocating the data for Video editors and album
designers
Follow up with the editors for completed data
(Delivery Management) delivering the edited data to
clients either online or through courier or personal
delivery
New order allocation
Client Feedback follow up
Vendor management and follow up
Sales call and Idea Exploration
6. What is a typical day (or week) like for you?
A: Days when there are shoots:
Mostly at the event venue shooting an event or when
there are multiple events
i usually do people management like
Check whether the Photographer/Videographer has
reached the venue on time
Inform the balance amount if any to be collected after
the event
7. What do you like most about your work?
Every event is a challenge.
The interesting thing about photographing various
events is it keeps you on your heels.
Keeps you thinking constantly to achieve creative
shots.
Meeting new clients and people
8. What do you like least about your work?
The way photographers are treated. The way the
profession is looked down upon.
Value vs Pricing, Unrealistic Competition and
Comparison
Time consuming process from start to finish
Time away from family as most of the events are on
weekends and public holidays
Amount of Stress
Clients, Friends and family asking to take pics in their
cameras and mobile phones
9. What kinds of problems do you deal with?
Data Storage and loss, Delivery timelines, Quality
Editors, genuine softwares and pricing
Dealing with Clients like a: Clients asking immediate
delivery
Clients asking for multiple re edits and changes
Friends and family asking to shoot for free or at a
minimal budget

Usual daily routines are affected like the working hours,

Technological update

There are formal colleges and courses but since it
involves creativity and art it is more of practical
knowledge and execution and self teaching

looking into?
Graphic Designing, Animation and Film making
16. How did you become interested in this field?
Dads influence on me as a child. I was always fascinated
by camera and pictures.
17. How did you begin your career?
A: Started my career as an Asst Manager in an education
start up which was into publications for schools
18. How do most people get into this field? What are
common entry-level jobs?
Usually young jobless guys are picked in as assistants
and then over the years they climb the ladder.
Common entry level jobs: Wire men, Light men,
Camera assistants.
19. What steps would you recommend I take to
prepare to enter this field?
Be ready not to get paid at the initial stages.
The revenue as an individual photographer builds
over years depending on your experience and
network.
If you are employed then the possible growth is
slow is my assumption.
20. How relevant to your work is your undergraduate
major?
Least
21. What kind of education, training, or background
does your job require?
I am a self taught photographer and in any field of art i
think its all about the practical application and
experience rather than the theoretical knowledge
22. What skills, abilities, and personal attributes are
essential to success in your job/this field?
Apart from the technical photography skills, a strong
customer relationship management
23. What are the most effective strategies for seeking a
position in this field?
Digital Presence and marketing
24. If you could do it all over again, would you choose
the same path for yourself? If not, what would you
change?
Yes i would as it is a passion turned profession

Keep at it

Get in only if you have sheer passion and not worried
about the remuneration or revenue at the initial stages
of the career ( first 2 to 3 years)
