2.  An experienced pharmacist, Sherif Mohamed El-Refai serves
as an oncology pharmacist at the University of Kentucky’s
Markey Cancer Center. Sherif Mohamed El-Refai also studies
pharmaceutical sciences and conducts lung cancer research
as a PhD candidate at the University of Kentucky.
In a recent press release, the University of Kentucky College
of Pharmacy announced that it held an open house in October
2015 to showcase its two degree programs for prospective
students. Students interested in the school’s doctor of
pharmacy (PharmD) professional program were able to attend
a three-hour informational meeting that provided specifics
about the program, explored career opportunities in the
industry, and discussed the pharmacy profession.

3.  The open house also allowed students interested
in the university’s PhD program in pharmaceutical
sciences to meet current graduate students and
learn about their research topics, while finding out
more about the application process and financial
resources.
Along with touring the college of pharmacy
building, the largest in the world, open house
participants could attend a workshop entitled
Preparing and Strengthening Your Application and
had the opportunity to meet college faculty during
a free lunch.
