SHEREIN SAEID ABDELGAYED

Sherein Saied Abdelgayed was born in Cairo, Egypt, in 1971. She received the
B. Sc.degree in veterinary medicine from Cairo University, Cairo, Egypt, in 1994.
She joined the Department of Pathology, Faculty of veterinary medicine, Cairo
University as a Demonstrator in 1995. In 1999, she got the M. Sc.degree and
became an assistant lecturer of Pathology till 2004 when she received the Ph.D.
degree and became a lecturer of Pathology. She is currently an Associate Professor
of Pathology and Secretay Of the Department Council, Pathology department,
Faculty of Veterinary medicine, Cairo University, Egypt.
Dr. Sherein was a member and group leader of the research team of the project
entitled “ Establishment Of Economical Protocol For Continuous Production Of
Fasciola Antigen Used For Vaccine And Diagnostic Kit Production “ 2004 – 2008.
Also she was a member and group leader of the research team of the project
entitled " TriNex" "1 December 2013 – 30 November 2016" (Knowledge-
Triangle Platform for the Water-Energy- Food Nexus) 544397- TEMPUS-1-2013-

Dr. Sherein is a Life Member of Egyptian Veterinary Medical Association and
Egyptian Veterinary Medical Society of Pathology and Clinical pathology
(EVMS), Egyptian Veterinary Medical Association (EVMA),The Egyptian
Society for Animal Reproduction and Fertility (ESARF), and Egyptian Global Life
Sciences Society (EGLS).
Dr. Sherein has sucessfully attend most of the FLDP (Faculty and Leadership
Development Project) training courses. She has joined 12 scientific conference
since 2008, 4 of them were international, and has got the award of best conference
research twice at 2013. In addition to co-chairing the ANIMAL HEALTH
workshop under the patronage of Association of Arab Universities, Arab Council
For Graduate Studies and Scientific Research, Cairo university, Egypt (27/5/2012
to 14/6/2012) and the NECROPSY AND METHODS OF SAMPLING workshop
under the patronage of Pathology department and Unit of Ashing Carcasses and
Environmental Contaminants, Faculty of Veterinary medicine, Cairo University,
Egypt.(16-18 December 2012).
Dr. Sherein was an oral presenter in the First Scientific Conference Of The
Pathology Department; “THE CURRENT CHALLENGES OF THE VIRAL

DISEASES IN EGYPT” that held in the conference center of Cairo university,
Egypt, 20 june 2012.
Dr. Sherein has shared in the supervision of some master and doctoral thesis. She
has published about 42 scientific papers 17 of which were puplished in an
international journals. She shared in the FIRST RECORD OF
MYCOBACTERIOSIS IN THE DUSKY GROUPER(EPINEPHELUS
MARGINATUS) FROM MEDITERRANEAN COASTAL SHORES OF MARSA
MATROUH PROVINCE, EGYPT that puplished in the 4th Sci. Congr. of Egypt.

birds received to the department morgue, autopsy work, and writing diagnostic
reports, which help to resolve some of the problems and field community service,
participation in seminars and public lectures organized by the faculty Training Unit
and development to increase environmental awareness, and Arbitration Of INTEL
gallery for Science and Engineering Fair In Bibliotheca Alexandrina, 16-18 March,
2014.

Dr. Sherein has got the AWARD OF INTERNATIONAL PUPLICATION
from Cairo University (CUIPA) twice; in 2013, and 2014.
Her main areas of research interest are the different and most recent medical
scientific aspects in all animal species to come with the faculty mission “serving
our community”.
