Sector guide.docx
1. Sector guide: film sector
camera operator:
- Camera operators are big parts of the film industry as they are responsible for
capturing all of the scene and the people in it, they can also act as another set of
eyes alongside the director and other people helping out on set. Camera operators
can also be known as a focus puller, this is where the person n in charge of keeping
the camera under maintenance such as cleaning the lens and adjusting the follow
focus etc. They also have the job of preparing shot lists and schedules for the
directors and the people in charge on set.
film director:
- A film directors’ job is very important to the whole filmmaking and producing
procedure as they must visualise wat will happen and how it will. They’re in charge
of the people on set and have a key role in choosing the cast members, everything
that happens on set and behind the camera must be ran by and agreed by the
director beforehand. Becoming a film director tends to be quite hard as you need to
usually start off as a screenwriter, producer, filmeditor etc before becoming the big
thing however some just attend film school.
production runner:
- In film, a production runner’s job is to handle everything around call sheets, side,
scripts, health and safety notices and any other forms of paperwork within the film
area. They are also used to essentially run errands for people in the faction. They
take lunch orders for cast members and people like the directors and camera men
and also do runs to post offices or other suppliers etc. This job usually runs with
production. coordinators and line producers
location manager:
- Location managers, as the name suggests, oversee and hire locations that are
needed for film production. The only focusses for location managers are finding a
place that looks good for the director and maintaining it. This job differs from the
others I wrote about as it Is not directly connected to the actual production and
making of films.
