The Estates-General is the Parliament of the Netherlands, originally consisting of delegates from the Provincial Estates under the rule of the Dukes of Burgundy. It is split into the Tweede Kamer, or Second Chamber, which discusses proposed legislation and reviews cabinet actions for up to four years, and the Eerste Kamer, or First Chamber/Senate, whose part-time politician members can accept or reject but not amend bills.
