First type of flooding is flash flooding. Flash flooding occurs when the ground becomes saturated

farming industry (Naylor, et al., 1998). Unfortunately, the consequences of salmon farming

(2003), farmed salmon have been found to breed poorly and have difficulty surviving in comparison
to wild salmon. The study was carried out in Western Ireland and highlighted the behavioral

farmed salmon and hybrid salmon (various mixed farmed–wild breeds) carry the

Introduction
American Airlines Flight 1420 tragically crashed on June 1, 1999. The flight crew attempted to land
the McDonnell Douglas DC–9–82 in Little Rock, Arkansas during a thunderstorm. The aircraft
overran the runway, crashing through several obstacles before coming to rest 800 feet from the end
of the runway. Eleven people were killed and over 100 injured. This preventable accident was the
result of human error, miscommunication, and poor decision making. After investigating the Flight
1420 crash, the NTSB made several recommendations to the FFA addressing the issues that led to
the accident in an attempt to prevent such errors in the future.
Findings
Following the investigation of the American Airlines 1420 accident, the NTSB released a detailed
and comprehensive list of the overall findings. Using data from the accident craft's CVR and FDR,
along with a thorough investigation of the crash site, the NTSB findings painted a clear
understanding of the string events leading up to the crash. In addition, the events gave insight to the
causes that prevented flight 1420 from landing safely in Little Rock.

Climate change has become a major concern for environmentalists, and society alike, during the past
few decades. Climate change is the disturbance of the natural fluctuation pattern of the weather
caused by humans. One significant component of climate change is pollution. Pollution occurs when
contaminants are introduced to the natural environment, causing unfavorable effects to the
environment. Three major types of pollution are air, water, and light pollution.
Air pollution occurs when unusual toxic chemicals and other substances are present in the air. The
toxins cause the quality of air to become lower than that of its natural state, which leads to a lower
quality of life for those who inhabit that area. There are two major types of air pollution: ozone
pollution and particle pollution. Ozone, or ground pollution, occurs through a chemical reaction
between sunlight and gases, such as carbon monoxide and nitrogen oxide, which are emitted into the
air by the burning of fossil fuels. Particle pollution occurs when gases turn into either solid or liquid
particles made up of ash, diesel, chemicals, etc.

This American Great Lakes freighter was used to haul taconite iron ore from mines near Duluth in

Mexico gained independence from Spain the city was renamed in 1826 to honor Ignacio Allende – a
prominent hero in the revolution – and in 2008 the city was declared a UNESCO World Heritage
Site (Encyclopædia Britannica, "San Miguel de Allende"). I plan to visit San Miguel de Allende
with my boyfriend, Alex, from September 12th 2017 to September 18th 2017. Currently there are no
U.S. travel advisories in place for this region of Mexico. I'm choosing to travel with my boyfriend
mostly for fun, as I think it would be a waste to experience all of this culture alone. There are tons of
art museums, historical sites, and even festivals that I would like to see and I just don't think I would
enjoy many of these activities alone. I chose these dates specifically because Mexican Independence
Day falls on September 16th and I think it will be really fascinating to be in a city of extreme
historical importance to this celebration while it's happening. San Miguel de Allende has a fairly
mild climate with typical seasonal periods though some have referred to it as "eternal spring"

can reach up to 100˚F, while winter lasts from December to February

There are four major types of study that make up a volcanologist or team of volcanologist. These
include physical volcanologists, geophysicists, geodesic volcanologists and geochemists (What does
a volcanologist do?, n.d.). Physical volcanologists study the actual processes that make up a
volcanic eruption.

CONCEPT OF OPERATIONS
A. GENERAL
1. This EOP is focused on a severe weather hazard such as a hurricane, blizzard or nor'easter for
Essex County. All towns and agencies involved will respond in a rapid timely manner when the
Governor declares a state of emergency due to an impending weather event.
2. This EOP is self standing. Therefore there does not need to be any orders to be given to follow
this EOP.
3. The Essex County Emergency Responder Committee (ECERC) has coordinated all listed
directives with the Boards of Selectmen in all involved communities for approval of this plan.
4. Control for the EOC will be located at Camp Edwards, Bldg 1206. This will be the central
location for all operations. The Alternate EOC site will be at Otis AFB, Bldg 102.
B. OPERATIONS
1. Operations will commence when the ECERC Commander, fire chief or police chief deem that the
storm will present a potential hazard for the county and its residents.
2. The ECERC Commander will contact all members of the Essex County Incident Management
Team (ECIMT).
3. The ECERC and ECIMT will follow all National Incident Management System guidelines unless
it is deemed unfeasible. In that instance the ECERC Commander will be notified.
4. Together the ECERC Commander and ECIMT Managers will follow the chronological timeline
listed for operations:
a. Weather Advisory (–24 to –36 hours)

people's economy? Tobacco companies want the people to think that tobacco is good for the
economy even though it isn't good for health (caner.org). The tobacco industry is one of the most
profitable businesses in the US, making not million, but billions of dollars every year (cancer.org).
The cost of smoking, however, is far higher than the income made from sales (cancer.org). In 2004,
the US Center for Disease Control & Prevention estimated that smoking led to health cost and
productivity losses that came to a whopping average of 10.47 dollars. (cancer.org).This is per pack
(caner.org). A study of more recent number shows that annual smoking related economic cost in the
US are calculated to be between 289 billion dollar, and 332.5 billion dollars (cancer.org). To further
understand what this means, one must break down these numbers. In the total provided earlier,
factors included consist of: 132.5 billion dollars to 175.9 billion dollars for direct medical care of
adults (caner.org), 151 billion dollars for loss of productivity that was a result of premature deaths
(cancer.org), and 5.6 billion dollars for a lost productivity due to exposure ok smoke, or secondhand
