1D FE modeling in Hypermesh

1. FE Model 100mm width x 50mm height x 1000 mm length
Material Steel:- E- 2.0E5 N/mm2,
Density = 7.8E-9 tonnes/mm3, mu=0.3
Modal Analysis Of Beam ALL DOF Constrained At One End
(Nastran SOL 103)

2. Use F8 function key,
Create two nodes with co-ordinates (0, 0, 0) & (1000, 0 , 0)
Node(0, 0, 0)
Node (1000, 0 , 0)
Create two nodes

Use F4 function key, (Distance command)
Create 9 nodes between nodes N1 (0, 0, 0) & N2(1000, 0 , 0)

4. Create Beam Section using Hyper Beam command

5. Modify the dimension as 100 & 50 for width and height
Rename as
Beam100x50mmClick file and
exit
Define Beam Section dimension 100 x 50 mm

6. Create Beam Material with E=2.0e5 N/mm2Mpa, mu=0.3, rho=7.8e-9 tonnes/mm3

7. Create Beam Property
Beam Inertia Properties are calculated and assigned as shown in the PBEAM card image

8. Set element type as CBEAM

9. Create Component Collector
Created Collector name appears as current collector
Create Beam element using bars command

Beam is oriented in X-direction, hence its cross section will be perpendicular to X.
In orientation box keep xcomp=0.0 and either ycomp or zcomp=1.0

Follow the similar procedure for creating the BEAM elements between other nodes.

12. Create Load Collector for Applying the Boundary Condition
Created load Collector name appears as current collector

16. Create Loadstep from Analysis Page Menu
Click create then edit for output requests
