• PRESENTATION
Production – the process that convert economic resources into usable goods and services.
Anything that is produced; product.
Manufacturing – the process or operation that changes raw materials or other goods into
various products.
• Is the production of merchandise for use or sale using labor and
machines, tools, chemical and biological processing or formulation.
• Manufacturing enterprise needs the following basic goods and services:
• Raw materials – these are converted into finished products.
• Capital Goods – these refer to machine, tools and building used in the production.
• Labor- this may be classified as unskilled, skilled, or semi- skilled.
• Management- responsibility in all aspects of business rest on the management.
Quality control- is a process that is used to ensure a certain level of quality in a product or
service.with the stiff competition of different brands of one product, controlling the quality of
the output has become a major concern for the manager.
Production Planning- advance planning and control of production of means less work. Good
production planning ensures orderly flow of materials in the manufacturing process from the
raw state to the finished products. In factories, planning and control is entrusted to a
production manager.
How to work Productive?
• The measure of how well an operation systemfunction is called
Productivity.
Productivity is measured as the ratio of input and output. The most important step in making
work productive is to fit the right tool to the work.
Mechanization and Automation
Mechanization – means that working tools add and extend mans capacity to do work
Automation - a machine is designed to do work. a computer attached to production line is a
form a automation since it can be programmed to stop or continue the production.
