3. Class Goals
•To form a deeper understanding of
the New Testament and a clearer
picture of the God of the Bible.
•To develop better students with
stronger study skills and greater
work ethics.
•To build a better grasp of
technology that prepares students
for an ever-changing global
economy and workplace.
4. Class Work
•Homework: What do I have due
tomorrow? What do I need to do to
make myself better?
•Quizzes: Weekly (at least).
•Tests: Assessments: Each unit.
5. Class Procedures
•I expect students to respect other
students, the instructor, and
themselves.
•I will intervene if a student is
interfering with another’s
opportunity to learn.
•All issues and offenses will be
documented in PowerSchool.
The iPads are a huge change to the paradigm of education. Students no longer learn how they used to, and the educational model must change to more clearly speak to them. I’ve already seen deeper learning and more excitement in the past week than I did in a majority of last year.
My students will be ready to use technology to their advantage when they leave this class. The global economy is changing, and if we aren’t producing students that can adapt to these changes, then they have no chance against European, Far Eastern, and Middle Eastern counterparts.
I assess daily, but we also have a larger assessment at the end of each unit. It won’t be multiple choice, true-false, etc. The real world isn’t like that, and these students are getting ever nearer to that real world. My students will develop the ability to think, not just the ability to answer questions with material that I spoon feed them.
Most assessments are a majority writing and critical thinking. But they will be well-prepared for each assessment.
