5. UKspace Update
• Drive to be more “politically relevant”
– WPI (political consultancy) have been drafted in to lead on ~6 month
lobbying push on Space
– Objectives include NSP funding and UK GNSS funding
• National Space Council formed to push space up the political
agenda
• NSP shrinking owing to delays in the CSP
– New Initial ask likely ~£50M over 3 years
– More later
• Parliamentary Space Committee getting going
– First Breakfast in October, looking for site visits, parliamentary
questions and debates
• New Website will include members area
– PNTC docs will be available
7. PNTC Update
• CMIN
– Mark continuing to engage with UKspace and UKSA to
complete the industry support on the ask for PNT
– Focused on NAVISP
• PNT / Cyber workshops
– PNTC and techUK held a workshop back in June 2018
on PNT and Cyber in Maritime. It was well attended
the Cyber industry, less so by the PNT industry.
– Organising another for the AV sector, date is slipping
with other priorities. Ideas for speakers still welcome.
