Open Streets events reclaim the city’s largest public space—its streets—for people to walk, bike and roll in a safe, car-free environment. Open Streets can bring communities together, highlight placemaking achievements, encourage people to walk and discover new neighborhoods, activate public spaces and catalyze good health. Learn about initiatives in Eugene, Bend and Portland and the impacts and benefits to each community. Panelists will share their successes and challenges, and works in progress of making Open Streets reflect the diverse communities from which they arise.
