Within a short 50 years, the World Wide Web, has shaped and influenced the world and will continue to mold the way people connect, think, and live. In December 2018, the World Wide Web Foundation published the statement : “reaching the 50/50 moment”
Each of the incremental improvements in the internet delivery platforms and a combined increase of connectivity speed, has enabled rapid technological advancement in equipment and the way the globe adopts, uses, interacts and depends upon this new technology. This dependence and reliance, influences and impacts upon society, and shapes how we go about our daily living.
The result is a social revolution influencing how we communicate, how we transact business, perform healthcare, improve education, and entertain ourselves and socialise.
Technological developments has changed the way Governments provide services, interacts with its citizens, and even radically transforms the way in which a war will potentially be fought.
How our Society uses the digital age today will shape the way future generations will interact, understand, value and leave the world for decades.

Influential numbers
Current Global access to the Internet over 4.5 Billion
(54.4% of Worlds population)
Dependency on access to information is becoming a
necessity from individuals to Governments

fundamental impacts on how technology is
influencing work and society, and how government,
business and labor, education and learning, arts and
culture, science and technology communities have
changed and are considering the future technology-
information-work dynamics.
Opportunities and Challenges require a global think

security, two-way high bandwidth connections
requirements, corruption, degradation or power
outages. Quality of services. ISP congestions.
Social isolation

9. E-commerce
E-commerce - an estimated 2.8trillion USDollars in 2018,
and projected growth to 4.8trillion USDollars in 2021.
On-line shopping and access to information and services
has benefited from the growing global audiences, with an

smarter and more responsive.
Voice recognition such as Suri, Alexa, Google Now
are being installed in homes, and available on smart
phones, the ease of access to information, saves the
audience time and relegates the mundane tasks of
physical search efforts.
Common requests are to locate and give directions,
find shops “near me”, play music, find answers to
queries.
E-commerce will be relying on smart technology to
equal that of in-store shopping experiences.
Challenges are privacy, dealing with un-expected
consequences, and behavior deviances.
