Challenges
 Content being processed in different isolated silos
 Different Video Quality per type of distribution (HFC, DTH, OTT, Live Events)
 Different feature set per type of distribution (Subtitles, Close Captioning, Graphics insertions,
Audios)
 Multiplying the efforts to process content: multiple racks, multiple sites, multiple management
solutions, more power, more cooling, more data networks…
 Lack of consistence on content offer to subscribers; Subs don’t care distribution means; they
want their service to be consistent whichever way they watch it
 Wasting bits and bandwidth when using CBR to process OTT video
