▌The role of the TIPCHECK ambassador
Within the framework of its TIPCHECK Programme, the EiiF organizes trainings aimed at
enhancing the skills of sales-related representatives, so called TIPCHECK ambassadors.
A TIPCHECK ambassador is thus a sales talent who is in direct contact with the insulation
client (i.e. project and branch managers, marketing and communication specialists…).
TIPCHECK stands for Technical Insulation Performance Check. It is a standardized
thermal energy auditing tool to:
✓ evaluate the performance of industrial insulation systems;
✓ quantify the amount of energy and actual euros a facility is losing in its current
configuration;
✓ demonstrate how more efficient insulation could:
• save energy
• save money
• contribute to a cleaner environment through reduced CO2 emissions
• identify process efficiency improvements
• identify safety risks to personnel
TIPCHEKs are carried out by certified thermal energy auditors, so called TIPCHECK
engineers.

• The payback periods for the initiated TIPCHECK insulation
projects were in most cases 1 to 2 years only
• The annual energy savings achieved were more than 500,000
MWh/year (1,8 PJ/year) and CO2 reductions of more than
370.000 t CO2

Insulation investment: 66,700 EUR
Insulation savings: 112,000 EUR/a
Payback period: 0.6 (a)
A first evaluation of 180 TIPCHECKs carried out in Europe across several energy
intensive industrial sectors (i.e. chemical plants, refineries, processing plants, food and
beverage, etc.) underlines the power of the programme:

The company sending an ambassador needs to have at least 1
certified TIPCHECK engineer with a valid license.
Recommended: to send a team of at least 1 engineer and 1
