Investigation
Does your pulse (heart) rate and breathing rate follow the
same pattern when carrying out exercise?
Print off this work sheet and carry out the investigation.
1. First sit down and rest for a minute.
2.Then while you are sitting, measure the amount of breaths you take
in one minute.
3.Record your BREATHING RATE in the table below.
4. Now use the step to carry out exercise for 2 minutes.
5. When you have finished, sit down straight away and then see how
many breaths you take in 1 minute. Record your breathing rate in the
table below. Repeat this for the next 5 minutes (making 6 minutes in
all) and record your data in the table below.
You now need to repeat this investigation but instead of your
breathing you are going to measure your pulse rate.
Plotting the data on your Graph
You now need to plot your data onto 2 graphs using graph paper. You
should use the axis shown below for each graph.
