2. Born Oct. 31, 1815 in Ostenfelde, Bavaria He never got married and he never had any kids he did not want to because he was very focused on his work and his studies and he thought it would take time away from all the things he had to offer.
3. His father enrolled him in law school, where he majored in fencing and beer drinking. He left without his degree because he was tired of doing nothing but partying and he wanted to turn his life around. He spent 15 years teaching secondary school.
4. A Couple of Facts He was a German mathematician. He taught at the University of Berlin starting in 1856. He was known greatly for his work over the theory of functions. He received the nickname the father of modern analysis.
5. The Tragic End Weierstrass suffered from a nervous breakdown in 1859, and was plagued by dizzy spells for the rest of his life. Karl Weierstrass died in Berlin on February 19th 1897. He was 81 years, 3 months and 19 days old when he died from influenza.
