Gas Transmission
Project Name: Spectra Energy
Project Proponent: West Coast Gas Transmission
Build Date: 2017-2020
Location: Cypress in Northwest BC, travelling 872 kilometers to
Ridley Island near Prince Rupert Pipeline will be buried almost the
entire route except aerial crossings of certain water courses.
BC EAO: Received Environmental Assessment Certificate from British
Columbia EAO. Certificate was provided with 43 conditions.
Conditions must be met before, during, or following construction.
8. Prince Rupert Gas
Transmission-Pipeline
Project Name: Prince Rupert Gas Transmission
Project Proponent: TransCanada
Build Date: 2019
Location: The pipeline will traverse British Columbia from a
point near Hudson’s Hope to a proposed liquefied natural
gas (LNG) facility on Lelu Island. The LNG facility will be
constructed and operated by Pacific NorthWest LNG
(facility).
9. Prince Rupert Gas
Transmission-Pipeline cont.
BC EAO / CEAA: The project has gone through the EA
process and received an Environmental Assessment
Certificate with 45 conditions.
Notes: Working group meetings and general discussions on
the proposed project.

11. Coastal Gas Link
Pipeline Project
Project Name: Coastal Gas Link
Project Proponent: Trans Canada
Build Date: 2017
Location: build an approximately 650-kilometre pipeline from
the Dawson Creek area to the west coast of B.C. The pipeline
will transport LNG to the proposed LNG Canada facility near
Kitimat.
BC EAO: Has received an Environmental Assessment
Certificate with 32 conditions.
12. Pacific Northern
Gas Looping
Project Name: Pacific Northern Gas Looping Project
Project Proponent: Pacific Northern Gas Looping Project
(Pipeline)
Build Date: in late 2016
Location: Intended to generally parallel the existing PNG
pipeline between Summit Lake and Kitimat. Splits in Telkwa to
avoid unstable terrain and lakes with high fish values.
CEAA/BC EAO: The Project is targeting the submission of its
Application for an Environmental Assessment Certificate in
the Fall of 2014
13. Pacific Northern
Gas Looping cont.
Notes:
The route for the project is currently a preliminary corridor
that will be refined through continued technical,
environmental and constructability assessments, as well as
consideration of input from Aboriginal groups, landowners
and other stakeholders Initial studies are just beginning and
will continue through 2015
PNG Looping held a community meeting with Kitselas in
September.
14. Kitimat LNG
Project Name: Kitimat LNG (Pacific Trails Pipeline)
Proponent Name: Chevron Canada and ?
Build Date: Started clearing right of way summer 2012
Location: Summit Lake, B.C. to Kitimat (Natural gas will be
delivered to the facility by the proposed 463 kilometre Pacific
Trail Pipeline )
CEAA/BC EAO: Complete, have until mid-2018 to begin
15. Kitimat LNG cont.
Notes:
Kitselas supports this project in exchange for benefits.
The First Nations Limited Partnership Agreement (FNLP) is a
benefit agreement between Chevron, a facility provider, and
15 First Nations whose territories are located along the
proposed route of the Pacific Trail Pipeline from Summit Lake
to Kitimat. Kitselas being 1 of the 15.
Providing direct access to employment training and jobs on
the Pacific Trail Pipeline is the Pacific Trail Pipeline Aboriginal
Skills and Employment Program (PTP ASEP).
16. Northern Gateway
Project Name: Northern Gateway Project
Project Proponent: Enbridge
Build Date: 2013 -2016
Location: From Bruderheim, Alberta to Kitimat, British
Columbia
CEAA and/or BC EAO: May 27, 2010 applied to NEB who
imposed 209 Conditions and 5 Provincial Conditions.
17. Northern Gateway cont.
Notes: Enbridge will be working closely with Kitselas
regarding the 209 Federal Conditions, 5 Provincial
Conditions, Environmental Assessment Applications,
Traditional Use Studies, Fish and Wildlife Studies, Impacts
Management and Benefits Agreements, Cumulative Effects,
Framework Proposals and any other reviews and
commitments imposed on Enbridge.
A community meeting was held in November.
19. Grassy Point LNG
Project Proponent: Woodside Energy Ltd.
Build Date: Undecided
Location: Grassy Point, near Prince Rupert, BC
CEA/or BCEA Office: May 08, 2014
Notes: Woodside Energy Ltd. is actively engaged with
Kitselas First Nations through meetings and
communications in regards to Environmental Assessment.
20. WCC LNG Ltd.
Project Name: WCC LNG Ltd.
Project Proponent: ExxonMobil/Imperial Oil Resources
Limited.
Build Date Completion: 2021-2023
Location: Tuck Inlet, nr. Prince Rupert
CEAA and/or BC EAO: June 2013, Export LNG Application still
under review
Notes: WCC LNG LTD. is actively engaging in the
Environmental Application process and Regulatory Pre-Project
Evaluation Description with Kitselas First Nations through
meetings, seminars and other communications.
21. Aurora LNG
Project Name: Aurora LNG
Project Proponent:
Nexen Energy ULC, INPEX Corp., and JGC Corp.
Build Date: 2020-2025
Proposed locations : Digby Island or Grassy Point
BC EAO: Have entered the EAO process.
22. Prince Rupert LNG
Project Proponent: British Gas Group
Project Name: Prince Rupert LNG
In Service Date: 2019
Location: The project site covers approximately 255 acres on
the southwestern part of Ridley Island.
CEAA / BC EAO: PR LNG project environmental assessment is
in progress with the CEAA (Canadian Environmental
Assessment Agency) the B.C EAO (Environmental Assessment
Office)
23. Prince Rupert LNG cont.
Notes: Have put off their Final Investment Decision for 10 yrs,
pending oil prices.
Spectra Energy / West Coast Gas Transmission will be the gas
supplier. BG Group has committed to keeping Kitselas well
informed throughout the environmental assessment process.
The proposal includes a marine terminal with one jetty and
two ship-loading berths that will be able to accommodate a
ship with a capacity to transport up to 210,000 cubic metres
of LNG.
The only groups so far to meet with Kitselas together in one
room.
24. Pacific Northwest LNG
Project Name: Pacific Northwest LNG (PNW LNG)
Project Proponent: Progress Energy, PETRONAS, and Japan
Petroleum Exploration Company.
Build Date: 2018
Proposed Location: Lelu Island. Gas will be exported to
Pacific Rim markets in Asia. The facility will liquefy and
export natural gas produced by Progress Energy Canada Ltd.
in northeast B.C. Gas will be supplied by the Prince Rupert
Gas Transmission pipeline.
25. CEAA/BCEAO: The project is under review from CEAA. It
recently completed the 45 day review required under BC
EAO and received 8 conditions. Kitselas will continue
working with the proponent to meet their conditions.
Notes:
Kitselas has recently signed a term sheet with PNW LNG,
meaning we have agreed to support this project in
exchange for benefits. The next step is an Impact
Management Benefit Agreement (IMBA).

27. LNG Canada
Project Name: LNG Canada
Project Proponent: Shell Canada Ltd., PetroChina Company
Ltd., Korea Gas Corp., and Mitsubishi Corp.
Build Date: 2017
Proposed Location: Kitimat, British Columbia
BC EAO/ CEAA: In April 2013, they filed a Project Description
with CEAA and the BC EAO. LNG Canada identified a number
of environmental and social studies needed to assess the
potential effects of their project including socio-economic
heritage effects and First Nations interests.

Notes:
The LNG Canada team has been engaging with Kitselas First
Nation. During a community meeting they recognized the
project has potential impacts to Kitselas marine values along
the coast.
Kitselas has been actively involved by attending field work
programs, public open houses and keeping informed on the
project with the on going activities.
