INTRODUCTION
PET
PET stands for polyethylene terephthalate,
is a form of polyester (just like the clothing
fabric). It is extruded or molded into plastic
bottles and containers for packaging foods and
beverages, personal care products, and many
other consumer products.

PET SYNTHESIS
STR UC TUR E
An “ester” is the reaction product of
an organic acid and an organic base.
PET formed by reacting ethylene
glycol (base) and terephthalic acid
Condensation polymerization reaction
Largest use in injection blow molded

RAW MATERIALS
PE T
Add a footer 9
Most plastic water bottles are made from polyethylene
terephthalate (PET).
Pet bottles are replacing glass bottles because of the high rateof breakage and
the inconvenience of returning the empty bottle after consumption.
Polymer derived from oil that adds flexibility, color, and strength to plastic.
It is impermeable to carbonation. It is strong, light, impact
resistant, naturally transparent, and completely recyclable.

Some other raw -materials are polyethylene, High-
density polyethylene(HDPE).
Some plastic bottles contain small amount of Bisphenol A
(BPA).
11. ASB PF6-2B
This integrated one-step
machine performs both preform
injection molding and blow

CHILLER WATER
Chiller water (typically 10-15 °C ) is
needed for the parts which need large and
rapid heat exchanging effects
1.Lip plate (The chiller water must run
through each lip plate)
2.Injection core pin.
3.Injection cavity.
4.Heater.

COOLING TOWER WATER
Cooling tower water ( typically around 25°C )
is needed to cool the machine parts that are not
sensitive to temperature variations.
1.Heat Exchanger (Oil cooler)

AIR COMPRESSOR
Chicago pneumatic air compressor used
for producing suitable air pressure.
Operation Air;
The “low pressure air” supply operates the
air actuating system, cooling system, etc.
Maximum supply pressure to the machine:
0.97 MPa
Working pressure set at the on board air
regulator: 0.69 MPa
Blow Air;
The “high pressure air” supply inflates the
perform at Blow station.
Maximum supply pressure to the machine:
3.43 MPa

PROCESS AND TECHNOLOGY
18
For making a plastic bottles injection stretch Blow
molding method is use.
Injection stretch blow molding is a manufacturing
process by which plastic bottles are formed.
In general, there are three main types of blow molding:
extrusion blow molding, injection blow molding, and
injection stretch blow molding.
But on ASB(PF6-2B) machine only injection stretch blow
molding is used.

TOP LOAD TESTER
Top Load Tester is designed to provide
Compressive buckling load. The instrument is
used for testing the load bearing capacity of
the PET or HDPE containers when subject to
an extreme load from the Top direction. It
determines accurately the maximum load
a PET or HDPE container can bear without
any deformation or failure.

Recycling process
This process divided into four stages.
1. Plastic bottles puts into the appropriate recycling containeror
local recycling point.
2. The plastic is then taken to a sorting facility where it is baled
and taken to a processing facility.
3. The bottles are then shredded into either plastic flakes (PET)or
granules (HDPE).
4. Flakes and granules are then melted and processed with various
techniques and returned to the manufacturers of plastic bottles.
