Molloy High School is offering one-week summer camps in theater and STEM for students entering grades 6-9. The Theater Camp, running from July 17th to July 21st and directed by Shannon Winters, will focus on acting techniques and allow students to explore their creative side through activities like improv and monologues. They will perform for friends and family at the end of the week. The STEM Camp, with two sessions from July 10th to 14th and July 17th to 21st directed by Edit Boral, will involve hands-on projects in computer science, engineering, and math like designing a soundboard app and 3D printing. 2. Theater Summer Camp is a week-long workshop which
will focus on acting technique, story-telling, acting and
improvisational activities, and monologue/scene work.
Campers will be able to explore their creative side in
a safe and encouraging environment led by current
Molloy students as well as recent Molloy alumni. At the
end of the week, campers will give a final performance
to friends and family to showcase some of the new
skills they will develop over the course of the week.
During the week of camp, students will take a field trip
to a live performance.
Theater Camp will be directed by Shannon
Winters ‘06 from July 17th
to July 21st
from 9am-
3pm and lunch will be provided. T-shirts will be
provided to wear during field trip. The cost is
$375 per student.
Ms. Shannon Winters ‘06, has been a member of Molloy’s
English Department since 2010 and moderator of Molloy’s
Theater program since 2012. She was graduated from Cabrini
College in 2010 with a Bachelor’s degree, double majoring in
English/Secondary Education and the Performing Arts (Theater
and Creative Writing). At Cabrini, she worked on eight theater
productions, including plays, musicals, staged readings, etc.
She worked at Hofstra Summer Camps for over ten years, first
as a counselor in the Actor’s Workshop specialty camp, and
then for two years as director of the Performing Arts camp.

3. Ms. Edit Boral holds a Master of Science degree in Computer
Science in Education and is a certified Master Microsoft
Office Instructor, a Certified Advanced Robotics Instructor
and an Authorized Certiport Instructor for Digital Literacy
(IC3 & GS3). Ms. Boral has taught programming, robotics
engineering, 3D design, computer graphics and web design
in high schools and at Wagner and ASA College. She
teaches AP Computer Science Principles and Computer
Applications and is the moderator of the STEAM and Girls
Who Code clubs at Molloy.
The STEM Summer Camp offers innovative, fun,
hands-on learning opportunities in computer science,
engineering, technology, and math. During camp,
students will develop a soundboard app for android
devices, design and print 3D artifacts, learn about circuits
and turn everyday objects into musical instruments with
a MakeyMakey console. In addition, students will take a
field trip to the National Museum of Mathematics in NYC
and will explore the secret world of cryptography. On the
last day of camp, there will be a STEM artifact expo for
family and friends to attend.
