Thank you to ASGA Execu ve Director, Sandra Stemmer
Sandra first joined us in October of 2014. This was a difficult me for the associa on. For a number of weeks,
Sandra was the associa on’s only employee. The annual AGM was right around the corner, and un l signing
authority could be confirmed at the Bank, Sandra had no way of issuing a payment of any kind.
Despite the challenges, Sandra set about the work of the associa on. She hired Lauren Wozny and Alyson
Kla , our Communica ons Coordinator and Membership Services Administrator, respec vely. She got the
associa on financial system turning once more. She worked with Lauren to pull the AGM back from the abyss
and ul mately hold an excellent event. All before her three month review!
Down the road, Sandra has been instrumental in be er documen ng processes and posi on statements at
the associa on. She expanded our partnerships with 8760 which now offer discounted credit card processing
to the membership along with their offerings of cheaper natural gas and electricity. She has also overseen
our partnership with Tirecra to offer discounts on res to our member companies and their individual em-
ployees.

PRESIDENT’S
All the while, Sandra lent her exper se and advice to the BOD on our lobbying efforts both at the provincial

because of her efforts, and on behalf of the BOD, the commi ees, and our membership, I would like to thank
her for all her hard work over the past two years and wish her well in the next chapter of her professional
life. Thanks Sandra. All the best!

Sandra provided no ce to the associa on in September, and we began recrui ng for the posi on in early No-
vember. As I think about a new Execu ve Director, I am firm in my belief that he or she will be in a posi on to
lead a strong associa on with great staff, ac ve and effec ve commi ees, and a Board of Directors com-
mi ed to effec ng posi ve change on behalf of our membership. But as I look forward, I have to look back as
well. Sandra has been with us for just over two years, and I felt it was appropriate to reflect on her many con-
tribu ons which have helped us to arrive at the point where we are today.
As many of you are now aware, Sandra Stemmer is moving on from her posi on
as our Execu ve Director.
