The document provides an overview of the technology stream for GCE Advanced Level students in Sri Lanka. 4. Introduction to The
Technology Stream
Sri Lankan GCE Advanced Level students can
now select Technology stream. This is taught
in some selected schools in Sri Lanka from
2013. First batch of students sat GCE A/L
examination in 2015, and they entered
Universities in 2017.

5. Objectives of Introducing Technology Subject
 Creating science scholars from the higher education to suit the demand
in the current job market.
 Providing the students with the technical skills needed for day to day
life.
 Generating the skills within the students to find technical solutions for
real world problems.
 Developing the skills suitable for the job market within the students.
 Directing the students towards the professional education according to
the national professional qualifications structure.

Four structured essay questions. All questions should be answered.

All six questions of essay type with two questions each. You must answer
at least four questions by selecting at least one question from each
section.
Total marks for Part II = 𝟐𝟒𝟎 + 𝟑𝟔𝟎 ÷ 𝟒 = 𝟏𝟓𝟎

14. PracticalTest Duration 3 Hours
There are three parts. All six questions with two questions each. You must
answer at least three questions by selecting at least one question from each
section.
 100 mark for each question, 300 full mark
Total marks for Practical Test = 𝟑𝟎𝟎 ÷ 𝟑 = 𝟏𝟎𝟎
Part I = 150
Part II = 150
Practical Test = 100
Final marks = 400 ÷ 4 = 100
