4. The first shot is an establishing shot with a moving camera. This gives a sense of
realism as the first person point of view tries to communicate being in a car. The
shot is at daytime and a lens flare has been incorporated.
5.
6. The camera zooms on to the singer, this is the first time she has been revealed in
the video. The lighting is bright and vibrant which is cohesive to the makeup and
outfit of the singer. All of this combined gives off a feeling of happiness and joy.
7.
8. The next shot shows other characters in the video. An over the shoulder shot
shows a young woman looking intensely into the camera. This shows that the video
is targeted at young people since most of the actors are young and wearing trendy
clothing.
9.
10. A long shot/ establishing shot shows a pick up truck carrying the singer as well as
some other young adults somewhere. The lighting is bright throughout, a cloud of
dust and colour take up the frame. This gives a sense of adventure and joy.
11.
12. The setting changes and the camera zooms on to the singer’s face. The foreground
is lit up while the background blacks out. The camera focuses on the joyful
expressions of the singer to set a happy mood.
13.
14. The video has several locations and therefore many establishing shots. Another
shows a dark alley with fog and smoke. The scene is lit by torches that the young
people carry. This, too, shows that the young are wild and free. Emphasis on
adventure is consistent.
15.
16. The scene shifts yet again and an extreme long shot shows the singer freely
dancing in a stadium. It is lit up by heavy stadium lights.
17.
18. A mid shot shows Selena dancing around with sparklers in the background. The
forehead is dull and overshadowed to bring attention to the background.
19.
20. The video ends with the camera zooming in on the singer as she smiles and holds
onto sparklers. The light coming off of the sparklers illuminate her face giving her
an angelic glow.
