Words Are Not Enough
A very good morning to everyone present here today. I'm Bryan Ong from the Methodist Boys' School of Kuala Lumpur. It is indeed a great honor
for me to stand here today to deliver my talk. Before I begin my talk, may I ask you people to do me a favor? It's pretty simple; just try to view this
situation as though as it's a picture. Tell me, what would you say from it? Exactly! You see a rather decent looking boy standing here trying to
overcome his fear and deliver a talk. And behind me you see the theme of the talk today – words are not enough. Ladies and gentlemen, through merely
a picture, such adequate amount of data can be collected already. Now, try to describe this situation, without a picture, and only with words. I bet you're

Not everything in fact. As you or I may know, the world is not like the world we used to live in anymore. Our Mother Earth is dying away. Despite
all the talks and articles around the world about our perishing Mother Earth, little has been done to save the environment. Our Mother Earth can't
speak. She can't put her pain in words. Hence, our Mother Earth expressed her rage towards our irresponsible acts by bringing catastrophe, hence, the
recent earthquake and tsunami in Japan that claimed hundreds of lives. This is a strong message by Mother Earth saying that she's dying already.
And if we don't do anything about it, she'll die. And we'll lose our home. This recent tragedy has reached practically everyone around the world. And
the message is delivered not by words, but by a horrendous cataclysm. I would very much love to continue to talk about this but apparently this talk
has a time limit. Therefore, like I said, words are not enough. Thank you.

World Hunger Rhetorical Analysis
World Hunger Hunger is a problem and crisis found worldwide. Hunger does not just affect one specific race or group of people but a variety of
people throughout the world. People don't expect to go hungry and one can never predict if this will be a problem for them. Going hungry can
happen to anyone and at the time least expected. Have you ever wondered what it is like to not know when your next meal will be? What about not
knowing how to provide enough food to feed your family? Not everyone thinks of these questions, as some are oblivious to these ongoing problems
related to hunger.
Worldwide hunger affects almost one billion people throughout the world. ("Nutrition") Malnutrition that is caused by hunger is the main killer of

Legal Voting Age
Have you ever had a time when you felt that your voice was ignored? Legal Voting age should be lowered to the age of 16. As a young Canadian
citizen there has never been a greater time to change the legal voting age to 16. How come we let unknowledgable adults vote, but not smart engaged
teens. Teen voices get blocked out while the adults keep talking. If we as a society change ourvoting age to 16 many positive outbursts will occur, For
example, Voter turnoutwill increase, teens will be more engaged in politics and the world around them, and finally young people will earn a chance to
speak up and say who would run their future the best. All of these will happen and most likely even more.
To begin, letting teens vote grants them a say in

Analysis Of Michael Chorost 's My Bionic Quest For Bolero
God creates every day and every day is a miracle. The New Oxford Dictionary defines a miracle as, "a surprising and welcome event that is not
explicable by natural or scientific laws and is, therefore, considered to be the work of a divine agency." Everything that is experienced from
morning until night is a miracle. Though these marvels are amazing, they are taken for granted. Things like listening to music, walking, talking,
smelling, and living are all Gods miracles and are all taken for granted. All these gifts from God are forgotten or regarded as a given like they will
always be there, they will never go away. But what happens when they aren 't there? For some people, that's called every day. In Michael Chorost's
"My Bionic Quest for BolГ©ro" revealed that Chorost could not listen to music, let alone take it for granted. There are many others who have a
similar or the same obstacle, as in they do not have one or more of their five senses. This can make daily living difficult and unenjoyable. Making
regular activities or participation in everyday life impossible. Further research should be invested in helping people revel in the joy of everyday
miracles. When taking part in a seemingly uncomplicated task for the first time and being quote on quote normal with normal experiences, even
something wonderfully mundane can bring immense joy. New abilities bring new experiences and outlooks, they open endless possibilities. In Michael
Chorost's article, "My Bionic

The Problem Of United States
Refugees face lots of difficulties in life, running from violence is only half the problem. Some of the people around the world believe that wealthy
countries aren't doing enough to help refugees find a place to live; others believe they are doing more than enough. A dispute happened between
countries, people believe that United States is not giving enough support and resources to help the refugees maintain a healthy lifestyle, others disagree.
One thing that is certain though is that refugees have to wait for a long time, before the states finally allow them to seek asylum. A large portion of the
world 's population believes that the politically and economically stable countries are not doing enough to help the migrants and refugees. United
States is known for not taking in much of the refugees who were fleeing from Syria. In his article, Kerry: U.S. to accept 85,000 refugees in 2016,
Dilanian states that "Even if the U.S. took in 36,000 Syrians...that number would pale in comparison to the hundreds of thousands that Germany is
expected to accept." In brief, Germany, which is smaller than the United States, is expecting a much larger number of refugees. CNN has claimed that
out "Of the 4 Million Syrian refugees . . . United States has taken in 0.03% of them." As a result, people can see that U.S. compared to other western
countries isn't doing enough in providing asylum for refugees.
United States didn't want to take in refugees, but that doesn't allow other countries

John Locke On Land Violation Of Labour
Hardin states that 'a finite world can support only a finite population; therefore population growth must eventually equal zero' (1243). Currently we live
in a finite world with finite resources but use them as though they are not. With the world population growing exponentially, one must contemplate the
potential of largescale resource loss. With Locke placing the greatest value of property on the labour put into it and being absolutely essential for
liberty then this has to give some form of responsibility to whoever has placed labour on to the area. Before labour has enhanced the quality of a
land making it more productive it is essentially a natural waste land. Therefore if you have enhanced the land with your labour then it is your
responsibility to make sure it is always productive and kept at this enhanced level. This is to insure that this natural land is not wasted or spoilt.
Locke strongly opposes waste or spoiling 'Nothing was made by God for man to spoil or destroy' (31). The concept that the wasting of property is a
violation of natural law implies one who earns property accepts some responsibilities for it. 'He was only to look that he used them before they
spoiled, else he took more than his share, and robbed others' (46).You only have what you need and it is within your natural right to leave enough

You know your needs, so don't damage them but also don't let others damage them also. So in relaying with the tragedy ofthe commons if you were to
enhance a land with your labour so that it is productive and 'where there is enough, and as good, left in common for others', then Hardin's idea of the
tragedy of the commons would not persist. There would be enough of everything to go around and everyone would only use what they need, nothing
more. But that is in a world where greed and selfishness does not

How Can World Poverty Be Ended
Why can't it just be ended? There's no debating world poverty exists, some say that we can and others don't think we can. World poverty can be ended
because the U.S. is wealthy enough, there are enough food resources, and we are educationally wealthy.
First, the U.S., with the help of other countries, is wealthy enough to end world poverty. We have enough money to end world poverty. According to
worldaltas, "We have many countries that owe U.S money. For instants, Brazil owes $247.3 billion, Ireland ($256 billion), Japan ($1.13 trillion), and
China ($1.25 trillion) which is a total of $200,883,000,000." This is enough to end world poverty. According to VisionofEarth, "To end extreme
poverty worldwide in 20 years, Sachs calculated that the total cost per year would be about $175 billion." World poverty can be ended with the help of
other countries.
Next, the U.S. has enough food resources to feed the people in poverty. According to a report from the Natural Resources Defense Council,
everyday people throw away 38 million tons of food away. Not including stores, 40% of food isn't eaten. The group says more than 20 pounds of food
is wasted each month for each of 311 million Americans, which is equal to $1,350 to $2,275 yearly, wasting for a family of four. Food resources can

colleges and universities, constituting an increase of about 5.1 million since fall 2000. Education means a better opportunity to more income and food.

Aliens are taking over the world and it is up to us to stop them.
If aliens came to take over the earth and threaten humanity, we would all come together and not fight as Americans, as Russians, or Mexicans. Instead,
we would come together, and fight as one front– the homo–sopeian species. No longer would money and resources be tied to imaginary nation–states
border interests. Unfortunately, we do have aliens attacking humans, but it isn't what you're thinking. The aliens declared aren't a foreign species from
outer space, but in our own ways of thinking and acting threatening our existence every day.
According to Eco watch, one of the biggest threats to human future's existence is war, specifically nuclear warfare. Yet, altogether the world spends $1.7
trillion building up armies and weapons to destroy each other, and most coutries spend less than 1% on peaceful humanitarian efforts. Furthermore, in
the graph below, listed are the countries are considered the "most generous", in regards to non–military humanitarian efforts and foreign aid.
The world has stockpiled enough weapons to blow up blow the world over and over again, and of course, we would only need to do it once to rid of
our existance. On one hand, this issue is more just a pure inner evil to want to get rid of humanity, and is not to say that countries should just give up
their entire military, and hold hands and sing "kumbabya". On the other hand according to the Borgen Project, the United Nations, the

Why Slavery Was Important for America Essay
Slavery Everyone knows a little about slavery, but do they know that Indians were slavers as well as Africans? Slavery had a huge impact on the
world for many reasons. What if the people in America at this time had found another way or something other than slavery? Also what would have
happened if slavery never existed? I feel that America would not have survived without slavery. Without slavery the world would not have been the
way it is today, it would be a lot different. The three reasons I feel that America would have not have survived without slavery are because of the
following: the early settlers had no idea how to harvest enough foods, that there would not have been enough manpower to win the Revolutionary War,
and lastly the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The settlers put the slaves into the fields to do all of the work. Think about it this way, in today's world it takes a two–hundred–thousand dollar
machine to do what the slaves had to do. In the South there were 3,953,760 slaves in 1860(Funk & Wagnalls). TheCaribbean and Brazilian sugar
plantations required a consistently high supply of labor for centuries (Funk & Wagnalls). Europeans needed more laborers than they could recruit from
among their own metropolitan masses (Funk & Wagnalls). This proves that the setters could not survive without slavery. How did America become
America? Well America had to fight a war to brake away from Great Britain. By 1921 theBritish Empire held sway over a population of about
470В–570 million people, which was roughly a quarter of the world's population (wikipedia). This war was the Revolutionary War or some people
call it America's war for independence, and without the help from the slaves America might have lost this war. America was a small little nothing
compared to Great Britain. The people in America had no way of beating the most powerful country in the world at this time. How was the America
going to be able to defect this country? The army of the Americas or the rebels wasВ… and В…. were the number slaves fighting in this war. If the

World Hunger This web page's goal is to introduce the visitor to the problem of world hunger and provide ways to access more information through
books and other web sites. The page was created as a final project for an Environmental History class held at the University of Vermont spring

big impact on ending world hunger, but by being aware of the issues you become empowered. It is first necessary discuss some other the myths about

Other powers would force the people to grow marketable goods that would be taxed and exported. Before the invasion of colonial powers, many of
the cultures had systems devise that ensured everyone got enough food to eat. Not only have the corporations converted the third world to export
based economies, but they also control the prices they purchase the good for to ensure profit. There are also inequalities from with in the third world
nations. There is great inequality in land ownership; very few wealth landowners hold the majority of the land. The other necessary resources needed
for agriculture including water for irrigation, fertilizers, pesticides and equipment are also monopolized. Inequalities among races also effects hunger.
Slavery is the most extreme case of racism directly causes hunger. Racism serves as a way to keep non–white people in the low paying jobs. All of
these inequality among nations, with in nations and between people is an inefficient use of the resources. Small plots of land that grow many
different crops is the best use of land. Similar to the reasons for world hunger, there are misleading solutions. The increase in local production of the
exported goods is not a solution because the profits continue to flow into the pockets of the corporations. The green revolution is not a solution either.
The problem being the farmers cannot afford the seeds, fertilizers and pesticides needed to grow the

Research Paper On World Hunger
The Oxford Dictionary defines 'hunger' as 'a feeling of discomfort or weakness caused by lack of food, coupled with the desire to eat'1. World
hunger, however, takes this definition and brings it to a global scale. Internationally, there is an estimated 850 million people that don't have enough
food to lead a healthy lifestyle. While this number has gone down by 100 million in the last decade2, it is still the worlds leading health risk and the
poor nutrition that comes with it is still the cause of death for nearly 3.1 million children under the age of 5 each year3. Thankfully, there are
organisations that work to end world hunger. However, this leads me to my focus question
Is there enough support and awareness to stop world hunger and prevent the undernourishment of children?
My aim was to find out whether organisations that work towards ending world hunger and the undernourishment of children have enough support and
awareness to reach their goals. My primary resource is a survey that was conducted in my community. My secondary resource include the World Vision
official website, the United Nations World Food Program website, and several other websites.

production but make up to 60% of people affected by global hunger5. This huge divide has sparked the development of programs such as the Women's

In the Tedtalk, Perception Is Everything, by Rory Sutherland. The advertising guru, Sutherland, explains "Our perception is leaky. We can't tell
the difference between the quality of the food and the environment in which we consume it. All of you would have seen this phenomenon if you
have your car is washed or valeted. When you drive away, your car feels as it drives better. And the reason for this, unless my car valet is
mysteriously changing the oil and performing work which I'm not paying him for and are unaware of, is because perception is in any case leaky.
So if you do something that's perceptional bad in one case, you can damage the other." Anyone's perception can be fixed. Some gentlemen may
think after a car wash their cars perform better but is that really the case? No, the car, after is cleaning, is now perceived as higher quality, therefore,
it performs at a higher level, which then leads to the perception that the quality of life one lives has evolved. A clean car just makes anyone feel
better. With this information one can know start acknowledging that our perception of ourselves matters because it can be leaky or fixed. The point is
that some of the people out there may not be the clean car therefor one may feel they don't perform at the same intensity as the "cleaner" ones. One

In general, more than 800 million people go to bed hungry each day. Many people all around the world do not have enough food to eat. If more is not

Children donates years worth of food for families all over the world. Feed my Starving Children is an organization that packs and sends boxes of
food to kids that do not have a daily meal. Over the past years, they have given thousands of people a chance to live a better life. The meals that the

If someone was to look at the books in my personal library, they would probably laugh and say "Someone likes Sherlock, huh?" My response would be
simple enough, "He changed my life."
Through Sherlock Holmes, I have found that I have a talent for putting puzzle pieces together. I developed my interviewing skills through journalism
classes and used it to become a better "detective." I focused on learning as much as I possibly could about crime, from the intricacies of it to the
psychology of a criminal. Many nights in a dark room, I read article after article on crime until my eyes burned and shut.

are treated unfairly which reflect one of the ideas of the poem. she writes " In us this is wisdom of how to shares loaves and fishes..." (line 22–23)
here, she promotes equal power between gender and class. Next, as I read through the poem, Walker also concerned about social class, she believes
that end of war is near, and it's time for the poor and rich to work together. She writes " The poor always believe there is room enough for all of us; the

Hunger In Africa
Our planet right now is not in a good shape. There is a lot of problems going on and a lot of them there is nothing that we can do about it. But one
that we can actually do something about is world hunger. This problem has existed since the beginning of our society and not a lot have changed
since. There is enough for everyone in the world and we don't do anything about it. Everyone knows about world hunger, especially in Africa where this
problem is the biggest one they got. The problem is that people don't do enough to change the sitatution. They think givng money once or twice a year
is enough, but in reality it's not. If it was, this problem would not even be discussed anymore. The problem is ignorance. Just for an exemple, Twitter

At the momment only organisations do something to counter it and it is not enough. Goverments could start informing the population on what is
happening everywhere and what they can do about it. They might send some of the troops and supplies to help them but again, we could do a lot
more then that. For exemple, if everyone in Canada gave one dollar to the cause, more than 35 millions would be raised and that is a lot. So just
imagine if everyone in the world that could give one dollar actually give one dollar to the cause. Therefore, if everyone gave a little bit of their money,
there wouldn't be any problems and if the goverments informed us more about problems too.
So, even if evryone could have some we don't do it because we our society either doesn't know enough about the subject and our goverments don't do
anything to counter world hunger. Problems like this one should be a wake up call to our society. We should understand after that we are not alone

Thermodynamics: Should We Have Our Materials?
In science, there is a big debate on if we have the materials to do something, should we? There are numerous of pros and cons involving the decision
on if the human race should do something that could either better or endanger the world. There are also many experiments in which the human race has
enough materials to do something that is risky. Although the decision should be solely based on the action and its effects, it would be safer to not
follow through with these experiments. There are many pros and cons if the human race decides to follow through with experiments in which the human
race has enough materials to do so. For example, in the movie, Contact, Ellie Arroway determines that there are enough materials to contact alien life

For example, many humans are ignorant and will hurt these species. Although these species can be kept under careful watch, it would be inhumane
to not let these animals roam free. Also, due to the world rapidly challenging, i.e. weather and a more industrial world, it would be illogical to let
these extinct animals live in a world that does not meet the needs of these extinct animals. As a result, bringing back these extinct species has more
cons than pros. So, this is another example that proves that it is safer to not follow through with experiments in which we have enough materials to
make these experiments work because there are more cons than pros. Lastly, an example that proves that it is safer to not follow through with
experiments in which humans have enough materials to do so is cloning. Humans have shown that it is possible to clone life forms, such as the
infamous Dolly. However, cloning comes with many responsibilities. An example of these responsibilities that would need to be fixed are the
problems that would later develop for these clones. There are health issues involved with cloning, if the cloning will actually work, which would only

you realize that they are the kids from the special education classrooms, coming in to learn the exact same thing that you are. You look at the people
who are sitting at the same table the kids are sitting at, and look at their faces. Some seem perfectly normal, like nothing ever happened, and then you
see the other ones, who look so uncomfortable that you wonder if they are in pain. Least Restrictive Environment, also known as "LRE", is a part of

disabilities are worse than others, and they may need more assistance than others, but whatever they are capable of doing, they should be able to do.

World Hunger Rough Draft
World Hunger Rough Draft
World hunger is a very serious issue in today's world, that is very stunning in a world full of resources and food to feed the hungry. World hunger
affects millions around the world. There are 795 million malnutritioned people around the world today. The good news is that hunger is a problem that
can be solved. There is enough food in the world to feed everyone. Today's knowledge, and willing people can just be enough to solve the main issue
of world hunger.
Chronic hunger derives from poverty, armed conflict, being poor, and environ mental overload. World hunger has many causes, these causes eventually
lead to chronic hunger."Far more people die from causes related to chronic hunger than to famine. Chronically hungry people are exceptionally
vulnerable when famine strikes". This relates to the ancient Egyptian myth, The Seven Years Famine. Us as human beings need to take action and help
the hungry eat and learn how to sustain themselves.
Prophet Joseph led his Egyptian people through the long term famine. He help build grain silos to store wheat for a s long as possible otherwise the

forever and pass it from one generation to another. We have to teach how to sustain themselves. Nobody is doing that, world billionaires have
enough money to feed poor and poverty stricken villages around the world without their income being affected at all. It is very sad that world
hunger is still around and millions of years. This world is developed and should not have as many hungry people as it has today. We all need to help
in any sort of way. Even if you are not wealthy enough to feed them yourself at least make an attempt to promote stopping world hunger

Hunger : The Problem Of Hunger Throughout The World
There are people all across the world who are struggling with hunger. Approximately seven hundred and ninety five million people suffer from this
issue. This is approximately one–ninth of the entire world's population that is directly affected by hunger. These people are in third world countries, but
there are also people in developed countries like the United States that are going hungry as well. Initially, when most people think about someone that is
starving, they visualize someone who is very skinny with their bones almost visible just under the skin. Although this visual image is sometimes
accurate, there are people who are undernourished that do not fit this stereotype. Furthermore, hunger can cause many health concerns that are not as
easy to identify by just looking at an individual. Hunger is a major problem throughout the world and some of its long term effects include stunted
growth, development of poor cognitive abilities, and poor overall health. These effects are devastating and often times irreversible. One consequence of
a person going hungry for an extended amount of time is stunted growth. A person who does not have propernutrition will grow much slower than
normal or not grow at all. These individuals will have low average weights and heights compared to others that are their same age who are have proper
nutrition. In infants and small children, this can be caused by poor maternal diet and health during or after pregnancy. If these small

Food Deserts
Food insecurity is a term that is used to describe the hunger crisis plaguing many nations across the globe, and more specifically, in developed countries
like the United States. In 2006, the U.S. government replaced the term "hunger" with the term "food insecurity" to better describe households where
sometimes people don't have enough food to eat. American citizens that call places like Iowa home, which has the nation's richest farmlands, are
facing food scarcity and children are the most venerable. Despite the strong economy in cities like Houston, Texas, families often times struggle to
find where their next meal will come from after food stamps run out and help from food banks has been used up. Instances like this where families

The family receives food stamps, or SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) but the $172 worth of assistance isn't enough to feed the
family of five for a month. They have to subsidize what they can't buy with food stamps with charity from food stamps, and even have to decide to
let certain bills go unpaid to put food on the table. Another challenge faced by the Dreiers and families across the country facing food scarcity, is that
the food often available is usually unhealthy. Food banks usually give away processed or canned food that is filled with salt and preservatives, so even
when a meal can be scavenged is usually has little nutritional value. Hungry American's have to often times decide on unhealthy pre–prepared or
processed foods because they are more easily accessible and more affordable. Many factors contribute to the food insecurity faced by many
American's today. Poverty seems to attribute to the hunger crisis more drastically than anything else. More specifically, unequal distribution of
wealth is the principle cause of hunger. The world does in fact produce enough food to feed everyone, the issues is that income is not distributed is in
such a way that everyone can afford or have access to food. If more progress was made towards

Essay On Sleep Deprivation
Around the world sleep deprivation could be detrimental to people lives and health. Without sleep I'm a angry person I get real snappy and grumpy. I
would like to know more about the effects of the lack of sleep that effects people's lives. I know that without sleep you can't function properly. Why do
people choose to push themselves to the limit when they are tired? Who do sleep issues mainly effect? These are some of the questions that I have
pertaining to sleep deprivation.

Sleep deprivation can lead to health related problems such as smoking, drinking and poor diet. Research that was conducted in Ghana, Tanzania,
south Africa, India and Bangladesh, Vietnam, Indonesia and in an urban area of Kenya shows that 150 million adults in developing countries are
suffering from sleep related problems. Over 40 percent of people in Bangladesh may experience sleep problems again with higher prevalence among
women said author Dr. Saverio Stranges. The prevalence of sleep problems was highest in Bangladesh, as people in this country are prone to anxiety
and depression. Insomnia treatment might help overcome their sleep problems. The amount of sleep and the equality of sleep have been shown to
affect appetite, weight control and the effectiveness of diets for weight loss. Having a extra hour of sleep decreases the risk of coronary heart
calcification (hardening of the arteries).
Sleep deprivation negatively effects the brains memory. According to Ted Abel, PhD, Brush Family Professor of Biology at the University of
Pennsylvania and senior author of the study, explains: "Lack of sleep is a common problem in our 24/7 modern society and it has severe consequences
for health, overall wellbeing, and brain function. Sleep deprivation impacts the brains neuronal connections, which leads to memory loss. Without sleep

Objectives Of The Sustainable Development Goals
The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) aim to replace the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) which expire in 2015. Focusing on goal 15
of the SDGs, the measurability and overall effectiveness of the targets will be assessed.
Targets 15.2 through 15.5 and 15.8 focus on conserving specific ecosystems and reducingbiodiversity loss. Each specifies a deadline year (2020 or
2030) for being in progress or completed, which helps to measure the timeline for the goal. Each target can be quantified in several ways but they don't
specify how exactly to quantify it. The target year makes the deadline measurable but the method of measuring the target itself is not specific enough.
15.1 and 15.6 have similar intentions to the aforementioned targets ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
15c discusses enhancing global support for 15.7 but does not state by which method(s) it will be measured nor any specific thresholds to meet.
Therefore it is too ambiguous to measure.
15.9 is ideal but it's difficult to measure how much of biodiversity and ecosystem values are integrated into planning. The target is measurable but not
specific enough.
Financial resources in 15a are quantifiable but the financial resources used and the amount of money is not stated anywhere, therefore it is not explicit
enough. 15b mentions mobilizing all resources but it does not mention which resources and how much of each resource is needed. Thus, 15b is not
measurable; it is much too vague. Community support in 15c is also quite vague and not specific enough.
Targets 15.2 through 15.6 and 15.8 are generally measured on an international scale but the criteria are not specific enough and/or are lacking in some
areas. For example, deforestation in target 15.2 can be directly measured using technology like remote sensing but are usually only studied in small
regions at once. Namely, a global study of deforestation rates in humid tropical forests was last done in 2002 (Achard et al., 2002). The International
Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN) currently monitors deforestation, however, like the SDGs, they employ measurable but not specific
enough targets, such as "encourage

Persuasive Essay On Poverty
There are many global concerns, but one that continues to be a major problem is poverty. Along with poverty comes the inability to pay for things
that are vital to our health such as shelter, water, and food. Over the years there have been countless efforts to find a way to end poverty and feed
every person in the world. "Three–quarters of all hungry people live in rural areas, mainly in the villages of Asia and Africa"(Who Are The
Hungry?"). To get a perspective, "Some 795 million people in the world do not have enough food to lead a healthy active life. That's about one in nine
people on earth"("Hunger Statistics"). When thinking of it in terms of 1 out of every 9 people, you start to see that it's a larger problem than what we
know. We tend to ignore things that don't directly affect us and this is a major example of that. We see the commercials of the starving children in
other countries but we don't feel like it's of any importance to us since it isn't happening in our own neighborhood. Or is it? Just a couple years ago in
2014, "48.1 million Americans lived in food insecure households, including 32.8 million adults and 15.3 million children"("Hunger and Poverty Facts
and Statistics"). This just goes to show that poverty could be in your own neighborhood and maybe you just didn't know it. While the vast majority of
those that can't afford to eat live in developing countries, poverty affects more than just them. Those who are undernourished are just one of the many
stakeholders involved in world hunger. The other main stakeholders include the various government and non–government organizations, regulatory
agencies, government entities, international organizations, private sectors, food corporations, and the general population. When looking at the big
picture of why there are starving people, we wonder if it's because there isn't enough food, or if there is just no way to get the food to them. There
are currently around 7 billion people on Earth and if we don't find a way to slow down on our numbers, there will not be enough food to feed
everyone in 2050. According to The New York Times, "The world has long produced enough calories, around 2,700 per day per human, more than

Long Term Effects Of Hunger In Africa
Africa was identified as the world's poorest inhabited continent. We waste over 30 million pounds of food a year. That food that we waste can go to
African. To help people in need of food. This year, nearly 9 million children younger than five years old will die needlessly, more than half from
hunger–related causes. Chronic hunger affects more than 925 million people in the world and is, in and of itself, a potentially deadly condition. Poor
people do not have the resources–whether land, tools or money–needed to grow or buy food on a consistent basis. People in African starve each day.
Not every poor person is hungry, but almost all hungry people are poor. More and more kids die each day of thirst andstarvation. Millions live with
hunger and malnourishment because they simply cannot afford to buy enough food, cannot afford nutritious foods or cannot afford the farming
supplies they need to grow enough good food of their own.

"The World Is Not Enough" is a great action–adventure movie with exciting stunt scenes, exotic locations, beautiful women and traditional

There seems like a shortage in women in this film compared to the earlier films.
French actress Sophie Marceau plays Elektra King, who is the daughter of a tycoon who wants to link his pipeline from the former Soviet controlled
areas to Europe. Marceau does an incredible job of playing her role as Elektra. Especially during the intimate scenes with Bond and with her so–called
captor, Renard. Denise Richards is the other Bond girl in this adventure. She plays a nuclear scientist named Dr.
Christmas Jones. Her performance in the film is ok, but could be better. For the most part, her part doesn't fit into the film as much as Marceau's
character. Basically, she just in the film to kill time and isn't all that helpful to Bond. She's just eye candy for the film and I think that producers just
added her in the film to bring more people to the theaters. 6.
The earlier James Bond films went by the format of having the lead villain and a henchman as the bad guys. In this film, two people, Elektra King
(spoiler) and Renard share the role of lead villain. Scottish actor Robert Carlyle plays the character Renard, who was shot in the head by 009. Since

What Causes The Polarization On People
What causes the polarization on people in the world?
Many people in the world do not have enough food to eat. However, some people can eat different kinds of food. As we can see in the picture, a
skinny man with an empty planet is sitting opposite to the strong man with a hamburger in his hand. Both of them are hungry, but the skinny man does
not have food and he looks really uncomfortable. The strong man is fat and he is going to eat the hamburger. The picture shows the realistic on the
society. Many people in poor areas do not have enough food to eat, at the same time; some people would like to eat unhealthy food in rich areas and
caused the obesity. According to the Latest Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) statistics from 2015, there are 795 million hungry people in the
worlds (who are the hungry?). It shows that 11% of people do not have enough food in the world. Actually, the geographic position and diet are the
important reasons to cause the polarization in different areas.
Firstly, the geography takes an important role on the polarization on food in different areas. Some cities located in the places with the badweather, the
extreme lands and the temperature are changeable in those places. However, some crops require comfortable weather and suitable lands to grow. For
example, Rice, Maize and Wheat are the important food for people to eat. "Wheat grows in temperate climates and maize and rice crops are more

Great Anthropocene Essay
A Great Anthropocene or a Utopia
An Eco–modernist manifesto states that we need a good Anthropocene, which "demands that humans use their growing social, economic, and
technological powers to make life better for people, stabilize the climate, and protect the natural world" (Page 7). In order to protect the natural world,
we should stay away from nature and give more land back to the nature world, instead of letting human society goes along with nature in harmony. The
new technologies would allow us to achieve much more from a limited amount of land. Thus, "humans have the opportunity to re–wild and re–green the
Earth" (Page 14) and will achieve a great Anthropocene.
I also deeply love and emotionally connected to the natural world, and I really hope what the manifesto proposed could come true. I agree that by
using new technologies, we can make what impossible become possible, we can be more efficient, and we can "allowing more room for non–human
species" (Page 18). However, I doubt that would happen, though I believe it could. First, it's not easy to access these new technologies. Currently, they
are not as cheap as the author described. Second, when the new technologies fail, they might bring more significant disaster to the nature world. Third,
whether we can achieve a great anthropocene is more a humanity issue that a technology issue in my view.

In Meditation Two of RenГ© Descartes' Meditation on First Philosophy, he notes the sight of "men crossing the square." This observation is important
as Descartes states, "But what do I see aside from hats and clothes, which could easily hide automata? Yet I judge them to be men." This is an
important realization as Descartes argues that instead of purely noticing the men through sight, it is actually "solely with the faculty of judgement," the
mind, that perceives and concludes that the thing wearing a hat and clothes are men. I argue that this view of the outside world by Descartes is
incomplete as his idea of "I" is faulty, as well as having a misunderstanding on the importance of the senses. In Meditation One, Descartes' shows that

forgive himself for not saving K. My point of view is supported by "The Cost of Survival" by Theo Tucker. For example, "People who take extreme

title is 'The World is Not Enough', and is the final Bond film of the twentieth century, finishing the millennium with the usual mix of guns, girls and
gadgets.

escapes; the best being when Bond escapes from the nuclear facility in Azabaizan. He is propelled out of the secret tunnels followed by a huge fireball.
The stunts and special effects are staggering. How did they get Bond to fall from an exploding balloon on to the Dome and bounce down as if was a
perfectly normal activity? How did they blow up an entire mountain? At the climatic ending Bond escapes from the villains lair with a girl, whilst
blowing the whole place up! The stunt people and special effects people must have seemingly magical powers. No other film character or secret agent
can outclass Bond!

The Benefits Of World Hunger
World hunger has become an increasingly prominent issue around the world and in America alike. People are now getting to the point where they live
in such poverty that they cannot afford food to feed their family or themselves. While commonly thought to only occur in third world countries, it is
becoming an issue in first world countries as well as the line between wealthy and poor continues to grow. "Some 795 million people in the world
do not have enough food to lead a healthy active life. That's about one in nine people on the earth. The vast majority of the world's hungry people
live in developing countries, where 12.9 percent of the population is undernourished" (FWP.) With this number only continuing to increase, it has
been noted that there must be efforts to stop it. One such action is known as basic income, where every single person in the country is given a
form of social security to live off of. While it has had its up's and down's, it has been successful overall. As previously mentioned, basic income is a
form of social security that is essentially provided to every citizen of a country, however, there are some countries where basic income is only granted
to those living in poorer parts of the country. Opponents to the idea often argue that it is very similar to that of a welfare system, where people are
going to be discouraged to work because they are receiving guaranteed money by the government for doing nothing, though, sometimes it is not the

Gottfried Leibniz Is A Strong Proponent Of The Idea That
Gottfried Leibniz is a strong proponent of the idea that everything exists for a reason and that God is the ultimate reason that leads to the creation of
our world, the best of all possible worlds. Using the principle of sufficient reason, Leibniz helps us understand the existence of substance and how each
substance is synthesized for some particular purpose. He then claims that inevitably the PSR can be indefinitely applied, and eventually leads us back
to the existence of God as the main source. Leibniz asserts that under the circumstances provided by the nature of God, the world that is created is the
best possible world, as anything else would violate the implications of the PSR. Although Leibniz's proposal of the PSR and his ... Show more content

Ultimately, Leibniz argues, if we work back far enough along the chain, we reach a point where we can no longer comprehend a reason for
something to happen. This is solved by introducing God as the ultimate reason behind anything. Leibniz does not necessarily argue that God is an
omnipotent or omnipresent being, but more so uses the concept of God to encompass the motivation for all that is unexplainable. He suggests that
whatever reasons we cannot comprehend must be reasons beyond our capability to understand and only fall to God as their creator. God becomes
the rational explanation that is necessary to end the chain of inquiry created by the PSR. There is more to God than just being the ultimate reason
for things. Leibniz argues that God is motivated to pick the most rational and perfect world there is. An irrational world would not exist, according
to the PSR, as it would not serve its purpose as holistically as a rational world could. Unlike Descartes, who was a proponent of the idea that
whatever God does is good, Leibniz thinks that rationality precedes God and that God's "reason" for a particular action is that it objectively is the
most rational. Thus God's actions are good in the sense that they are the most ideal. God's rationality allows for a universe with minimal laws but the
largest amount of phenomena. God does whatever is most rational and creates substances that will serve their purpose the

modified crops has had infertility, early delivers and death. This raises many complications towards crops that are genetically modified as they may
carry viruses or bacteria that can be harmful towards humans and animals. Many ethically issues arise from the side effects from these crops on
animals and humans. If livestock is affected by these crops this could also mean decrease in production on meat and increase of meat prices because
of the demand. The effects of genetically modified crops have not been fully tested on humans and the consequences are not fully known. There have
been cases with Indian farmers having allergic reaction to genetically modified cotton (Kurunganti K,2008). This is important in today's world as the
population is growing consumers need to be aware of the benefits and consequences of genetically modified crops.
Genetically modified crops are expensive, economically can be have some financial strain on the farmers but in the long run it is effective as these
genetically modified crops are altered so they grow quicker than traditional crops. This will allow farmer to have more time off the field and increase
household income. Also some

Words Are Not Enough

  • 1. Words Are Not Enough A very good morning to everyone present here today. I'm Bryan Ong from the Methodist Boys' School of Kuala Lumpur. It is indeed a great honor for me to stand here today to deliver my talk. Before I begin my talk, may I ask you people to do me a favor? It's pretty simple; just try to view this situation as though as it's a picture. Tell me, what would you say from it? Exactly! You see a rather decent looking boy standing here trying to overcome his fear and deliver a talk. And behind me you see the theme of the talk today – words are not enough. Ladies and gentlemen, through merely a picture, such adequate amount of data can be collected already. Now, try to describe this situation, without a picture, and only with words. I bet you're ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Not everything in fact. As you or I may know, the world is not like the world we used to live in anymore. Our Mother Earth is dying away. Despite all the talks and articles around the world about our perishing Mother Earth, little has been done to save the environment. Our Mother Earth can't speak. She can't put her pain in words. Hence, our Mother Earth expressed her rage towards our irresponsible acts by bringing catastrophe, hence, the recent earthquake and tsunami in Japan that claimed hundreds of lives. This is a strong message by Mother Earth saying that she's dying already. And if we don't do anything about it, she'll die. And we'll lose our home. This recent tragedy has reached practically everyone around the world. And the message is delivered not by words, but by a horrendous cataclysm. I would very much love to continue to talk about this but apparently this talk has a time limit. Therefore, like I said, words are not enough. Thank you. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 2. World Hunger Rhetorical Analysis World Hunger Hunger is a problem and crisis found worldwide. Hunger does not just affect one specific race or group of people but a variety of people throughout the world. People don't expect to go hungry and one can never predict if this will be a problem for them. Going hungry can happen to anyone and at the time least expected. Have you ever wondered what it is like to not know when your next meal will be? What about not knowing how to provide enough food to feed your family? Not everyone thinks of these questions, as some are oblivious to these ongoing problems related to hunger. Worldwide hunger affects almost one billion people throughout the world. • 3. Legal Voting Age Have you ever had a time when you felt that your voice was ignored? Legal Voting age should be lowered to the age of 16. As a young Canadian citizen there has never been a greater time to change the legal voting age to 16. How come we let unknowledgable adults vote, but not smart engaged teens. Teen voices get blocked out while the adults keep talking. If we as a society change ourvoting age to 16 many positive outbursts will occur, For example, Voter turnoutwill increase, teens will be more engaged in politics and the world around them, and finally young people will earn a chance to speak up and say who would run their future the best. All of these will happen and most likely even more. To begin, letting teens vote grants them a say in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Analysis Of Michael Chorost 's My Bionic Quest For Bolero God creates every day and every day is a miracle. The New Oxford Dictionary defines a miracle as, "a surprising and welcome event that is not explicable by natural or scientific laws and is, therefore, considered to be the work of a divine agency." Everything that is experienced from morning until night is a miracle. Though these marvels are amazing, they are taken for granted. Things like listening to music, walking, talking, smelling, and living are all Gods miracles and are all taken for granted. All these gifts from God are forgotten or regarded as a given like they will always be there, they will never go away. But what happens when they aren 't there? For some people, that's called every day. In Michael Chorost's "My Bionic Quest for BolГ©ro" revealed that Chorost could not listen to music, let alone take it for granted. There are many others who have a similar or the same obstacle, as in they do not have one or more of their five senses. This can make daily living difficult and unenjoyable. Making regular activities or participation in everyday life impossible. Further research should be invested in helping people revel in the joy of everyday miracles. When taking part in a seemingly uncomplicated task for the first time and being quote on quote normal with normal experiences, even something wonderfully mundane can bring immense joy. New abilities bring new experiences and outlooks, they open endless possibilities. In Michael Chorost's article, "My Bionic ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. The Problem Of United States Refugees face lots of difficulties in life, running from violence is only half the problem. Some of the people around the world believe that wealthy countries aren't doing enough to help refugees find a place to live; others believe they are doing more than enough. A dispute happened between countries, people believe that United States is not giving enough support and resources to help the refugees maintain a healthy lifestyle, others disagree. One thing that is certain though is that refugees have to wait for a long time, before the states finally allow them to seek asylum. A large portion of the world 's population believes that the politically and economically stable countries are not doing enough to help the migrants and refugees. United States is known for not taking in much of the refugees who were fleeing from Syria. In his article, Kerry: U.S. to accept 85,000 refugees in 2016, Dilanian states that "Even if the U.S. took in 36,000 Syrians...that number would pale in comparison to the hundreds of thousands that Germany is expected to accept." In brief, Germany, which is smaller than the United States, is expecting a much larger number of refugees. CNN has claimed that out "Of the 4 Million Syrian refugees . . . United States has taken in 0.03% of them." As a result, people can see that U.S. compared to other western countries isn't doing enough in providing asylum for refugees. • 6. John Locke On Land Violation Of Labour Hardin states that 'a finite world can support only a finite population; therefore population growth must eventually equal zero' (1243). Currently we live in a finite world with finite resources but use them as though they are not. With the world population growing exponentially, one must contemplate the potential of largescale resource loss. With Locke placing the greatest value of property on the labour put into it and being absolutely essential for liberty then this has to give some form of responsibility to whoever has placed labour on to the area. Before labour has enhanced the quality of a land making it more productive it is essentially a natural waste land. Therefore if you have enhanced the land with your labour then it is your responsibility to make sure it is always productive and kept at this enhanced level. This is to insure that this natural land is not wasted or spoilt. Locke strongly opposes waste or spoiling 'Nothing was made by God for man to spoil or destroy' (31). The concept that the wasting of property is a violation of natural law implies one who earns property accepts some responsibilities for it. 'He was only to look that he used them before they spoiled, else he took more than his share, and robbed others' (46).You only have what you need and it is within your natural right to leave enough within the ... So in relaying with the tragedy ofthe commons if you were to enhance a land with your labour so that it is productive and 'where there is enough, and as good, left in common for others', then Hardin's idea of the tragedy of the commons would not persist. There would be enough of everything to go around and everyone would only use what they need, nothing more. But that is in a world where greed and selfishness does not ... • 7. How Can World Poverty Be Ended Why can't it just be ended? There's no debating world poverty exists, some say that we can and others don't think we can. World poverty can be ended because the U.S. is wealthy enough, there are enough food resources, and we are educationally wealthy. First, the U.S., with the help of other countries, is wealthy enough to end world poverty. We have enough money to end world poverty. According to worldaltas, "We have many countries that owe U.S money. For instants, Brazil owes $247.3 billion, Ireland ($256 billion), Japan ($1.13 trillion), and China ($1.25 trillion) which is a total of $200,883,000,000." This is enough to end world poverty. According to VisionofEarth, "To end extreme poverty worldwide in 20 years, Sachs calculated that the total cost per year would be about $175 billion." World poverty can be ended with the help of other countries. Next, the U.S. has enough food resources to feed the people in poverty. According to a report from the Natural Resources Defense Council, everyday people throw away 38 million tons of food away. Not including stores, 40% of food isn't eaten. The group says more than 20 pounds of food is wasted each month for each of 311 million Americans, which is equal to $1,350 to $2,275 yearly, wasting for a family of four. • 8. Persuasive Essay Aliens are taking over the world and it is up to us to stop them. If aliens came to take over the earth and threaten humanity, we would all come together and not fight as Americans, as Russians, or Mexicans. Instead, we would come together, and fight as one front– the homo–sopeian species. No longer would money and resources be tied to imaginary nation–states border interests. Unfortunately, we do have aliens attacking humans, but it isn't what you're thinking. The aliens declared aren't a foreign species from outer space, but in our own ways of thinking and acting threatening our existence every day. According to Eco watch, one of the biggest threats to human future's existence is war, specifically nuclear warfare. Yet, altogether the world spends $1.7 trillion building up armies and weapons to destroy each other, and most coutries spend less than 1% on peaceful humanitarian efforts. Furthermore, in the graph below, listed are the countries are considered the "most generous", in regards to non–military humanitarian efforts and foreign aid. The world has stockpiled enough weapons to blow up blow the world over and over again, and of course, we would only need to do it once to rid of our existance. On one hand, this issue is more just a pure inner evil to want to get rid of humanity, and is not to say that countries should just give up their entire military, and hold hands and sing "kumbabya". • 9. Why Slavery Was Important for America Essay Slavery Everyone knows a little about slavery, but do they know that Indians were slavers as well as Africans? Slavery had a huge impact on the world for many reasons. What if the people in America at this time had found another way or something other than slavery? Also what would have happened if slavery never existed? I feel that America would not have survived without slavery. Without slavery the world would not have been the way it is today, it would be a lot different. The three reasons I feel that America would have not have survived without slavery are because of the following: the early settlers had no idea how to harvest enough foods, that there would not have been enough manpower to win the Revolutionary War, and lastly the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The settlers put the slaves into the fields to do all of the work. Think about it this way, in today's world it takes a two–hundred–thousand dollar machine to do what the slaves had to do. In the South there were 3,953,760 slaves in 1860(Funk & Wagnalls). TheCaribbean and Brazilian sugar plantations required a consistently high supply of labor for centuries (Funk & Wagnalls). Europeans needed more laborers than they could recruit from among their own metropolitan masses (Funk & Wagnalls). This proves that the setters could not survive without slavery. How did America become America? Well America had to fight a war to brake away from Great Britain. By 1921 theBritish Empire held sway over a population of about 470В–570 million people, which was roughly a quarter of the world's population (wikipedia). There are also inequalities from with in the third world nations. There is great inequality in land ownership; very few wealth landowners hold the majority of the land. The other necessary resources needed for agriculture including water for irrigation, fertilizers, pesticides and equipment are also monopolized. Inequalities among races also effects hunger. World hunger, however, takes this definition and brings it to a global scale. Internationally, there is an estimated 850 million people that don't have enough food to lead a healthy lifestyle. While this number has gone down by 100 million in the last decade2, it is still the worlds leading health risk and the poor nutrition that comes with it is still the cause of death for nearly 3.1 million children under the age of 5 each year3. Thankfully, there are organisations that work to end world hunger. However, this leads me to my focus question Is there enough support and awareness to stop world hunger and prevent the undernourishment of children? My aim was to find out whether organisations that work towards ending world hunger and the undernourishment of children have enough support and awareness to reach their goals. My primary resource is a survey that was conducted in my community. When you drive away, your car feels as it drives better. And the reason for this, unless my car valet is mysteriously changing the oil and performing work which I'm not paying him for and are unaware of, is because perception is in any case leaky. No, the car, after is cleaning, is now perceived as higher quality, therefore, it performs at a higher level, which then leads to the perception that the quality of life one lives has evolved. There is enough for everyone in the world and we don't do anything about it. Everyone knows about world hunger, especially in Africa where this problem is the biggest one they got. The problem is that people don't do enough to change the sitatution. They think givng money once or twice a year is enough, but in reality it's not. American citizens that call places like Iowa home, which has the nation's richest farmlands, are facing food scarcity and children are the most venerable. Hungry American's have to often times decide on unhealthy pre–prepared or processed foods because they are more easily accessible and more affordable. The target is measurable but not specific enough. Financial resources in 15a are quantifiable but the financial resources used and the amount of money is not stated anywhere, therefore it is not explicit enough. 15b mentions mobilizing all resources but it does not mention which resources and how much of each resource is needed. • 27. Persuasive Essay On Poverty There are many global concerns, but one that continues to be a major problem is poverty. Along with poverty comes the inability to pay for things that are vital to our health such as shelter, water, and food. Over the years there have been countless efforts to find a way to end poverty and feed every person in the world. "Three–quarters of all hungry people live in rural areas, mainly in the villages of Asia and Africa"(Who Are The Hungry?"). To get a perspective, "Some 795 million people in the world do not have enough food to lead a healthy active life. That's about one in nine people on earth"("Hunger Statistics"). When thinking of it in terms of 1 out of every 9 people, you start to see that it's a larger problem than what we know. We tend to ignore things that don't directly affect us and this is a major example of that. We see the commercials of the starving children in other countries but we don't feel like it's of any importance to us since it isn't happening in our own neighborhood. Or is it? Just a couple years ago in 2014, "48.1 million Americans lived in food insecure households, including 32.8 million adults and 15.3 million children"("Hunger and Poverty Facts and Statistics"). This just goes to show that poverty could be in your own neighborhood and maybe you just didn't know it. While the vast majority of those that can't afford to eat live in developing countries, poverty affects more than just them. Those who are undernourished are just one of the many stakeholders involved in world hunger. The other main stakeholders include the various government and non–government organizations, regulatory agencies, government entities, international organizations, private sectors, food corporations, and the general population. When looking at the big picture of why there are starving people, we wonder if it's because there isn't enough food, or if there is just no way to get the food to them. There are currently around 7 billion people on Earth and if we don't find a way to slow down on our numbers, there will not be enough food to feed everyone in 2050. That food that we waste can go to African. To help people in need of food. This year, nearly 9 million children younger than five years old will die needlessly, more than half from hunger–related causes. Chronic hunger affects more than 925 million people in the world and is, in and of itself, a potentially deadly condition. Poor people do not have the resources–whether land, tools or money–needed to grow or buy food on a consistent basis. People in African starve each day. Not every poor person is hungry, but almost all hungry people are poor. More and more kids die each day of thirst andstarvation. Millions live with hunger and malnourishment because they simply cannot afford to buy enough food, cannot afford nutritious foods or cannot afford the farming supplies they need to grow enough good food of their own. Pierce Brosnan carries on the role of the world's most famous secret agent, James Bond in which was established by Sean Connery in 1962's "Doctor No". Since it is also the 19th installment to the longest running film series in history, comparing this one to the older movies is like comparing one athlete to another. But hey, I guess that's the fun of it all.To get more in depth of the film, let's see if the traditional Bond trademarks live up to their roles.1. Bond...James Bond. It seems that Brosnan's Bond has become a Jenny Craig follower when it comes to the number of women that are involved in his life. There seems like a shortage in women in this film compared to the earlier films. French actress Sophie Marceau plays Elektra King, who is the daughter of a tycoon who wants to link his pipeline from the former Soviet controlled areas to Europe. Marceau does an incredible job of playing her role as Elektra. Especially during the intimate scenes with Bond and with her so–called captor, Renard. Denise Richards is the other Bond girl in this adventure. She plays a nuclear scientist named Dr. Christmas Jones. Her performance in the film is ok, but could be better. For the most part, her part doesn't fit into the film as much as Marceau's character. Basically, she just in the film to kill time and isn't all that helpful to Bond. She's just eye candy for the film and I think that producers just added her in the film to bring more people to the theaters. 6. The earlier James Bond films went by the format of having the lead villain and a henchman as the bad guys. In this film, two people, Elektra King (spoiler) and Renard share the role of lead villain. Scottish actor Robert Carlyle plays the character Renard, who was shot in the head by 009. Since the bullet is stuck in his head, he cannot feel any pain at all nor can he taste, feel or smell; ... • 30. What Causes The Polarization On People What causes the polarization on people in the world? Many people in the world do not have enough food to eat. However, some people can eat different kinds of food. As we can see in the picture, a skinny man with an empty planet is sitting opposite to the strong man with a hamburger in his hand. Both of them are hungry, but the skinny man does not have food and he looks really uncomfortable. The strong man is fat and he is going to eat the hamburger. The picture shows the realistic on the society. Many people in poor areas do not have enough food to eat, at the same time; some people would like to eat unhealthy food in rich areas and caused the obesity. According to the Latest Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) statistics from 2015, there are 795 million hungry people in the worlds (who are the hungry?). It shows that 11% of people do not have enough food in the world. Actually, the geographic position and diet are the important reasons to cause the polarization in different areas. Firstly, the geography takes an important role on the polarization on food in different areas. Some cities located in the places with the badweather, the extreme lands and the temperature are changeable in those places. However, some crops require comfortable weather and suitable lands to grow. For example, Rice, Maize and Wheat are the important food for people to eat. • 31. Great Anthropocene Essay A Great Anthropocene or a Utopia An Eco–modernist manifesto states that we need a good Anthropocene, which "demands that humans use their growing social, economic, and technological powers to make life better for people, stabilize the climate, and protect the natural world" (Page 7). In order to protect the natural world, we should stay away from nature and give more land back to the nature world, instead of letting human society goes along with nature in harmony. The new technologies would allow us to achieve much more from a limited amount of land. Thus, "humans have the opportunity to re–wild and re–green the Earth" (Page 14) and will achieve a great Anthropocene. I also deeply love and emotionally connected to the natural world, and I really hope what the manifesto proposed could come true. I agree that by using new technologies, we can make what impossible become possible, we can be more efficient, and we can "allowing more room for non–human species" (Page 18). However, I doubt that would happen, though I believe it could. First, it's not easy to access these new technologies. Currently, they are not as cheap as the author described. Second, when the new technologies fail, they might bring more significant disaster to the nature world. Third, whether we can achieve a great anthropocene is more a humanity issue that a technology issue in my view. It's hard to get "energy sources that are cheap, clean, dense, and abundant" (Page 24), even with new technologies. Human has been using solar energy for many years, but it's still not ... This observation is important as Descartes states, "But what do I see aside from hats and clothes, which could easily hide automata? Yet I judge them to be men." This is an important realization as Descartes argues that instead of purely noticing the men through sight, it is actually "solely with the faculty of judgement," the mind, that perceives and concludes that the thing wearing a hat and clothes are men. I argue that this view of the outside world by Descartes is incomplete as his idea of "I" is faulty, as well as having a misunderstanding on the importance of the senses. These lyrics, from the song "The World was Wide Enough", prompted the term "survivor guilt". In a story called "The Seventh Man", the main character and narrator tells us an anecdote of him and his best friend, K. K dies in a storm with the man beside him and The seventh man spends the rest of his life feeling liable. The Seventh man should not forgive himself for not saving K. My point of view is supported by "The Cost of Survival" by Theo Tucker. For example, "People who take extreme risks should pay for their rescue operation" (127). There are many close escapes; the best being when Bond escapes from the nuclear facility in Azabaizan. He is propelled out of the secret tunnels followed by a huge fireball. The stunts and special effects are staggering. How did they get Bond to fall from an exploding balloon on to the Dome and bounce down as if was a perfectly normal activity? How did they blow up an entire mountain? At the climatic ending Bond escapes from the villains lair with a girl, whilst blowing the whole place up! The stunt people and special effects people must have seemingly magical powers. No other film character or secret agent can outclass Bond! Director Michael Apted has created a film that proceeds at a good pace with a strong, straightforward story line, and yet also includes interesting and sometimes stunning locations. It is his first action/adventure film, previously making his name as director of ' Gorillas in the Mist'' a true life, documentary style film. • 36. The Benefits Of World Hunger World hunger has become an increasingly prominent issue around the world and in America alike. People are now getting to the point where they live in such poverty that they cannot afford food to feed their family or themselves. While commonly thought to only occur in third world countries, it is becoming an issue in first world countries as well as the line between wealthy and poor continues to grow. "Some 795 million people in the world do not have enough food to lead a healthy active life. That's about one in nine people on the earth. The vast majority of the world's hungry people live in developing countries, where 12.9 percent of the population is undernourished" (FWP.) With this number only continuing to increase, it has been noted that there must be efforts to stop it. One such action is known as basic income, where every single person in the country is given a form of social security to live off of. While it has had its up's and down's, it has been successful overall. As previously mentioned, basic income is a form of social security that is essentially provided to every citizen of a country, however, there are some countries where basic income is only granted to those living in poorer parts of the country. Opponents to the idea often argue that it is very similar to that of a welfare system, where people are going to be discouraged to work because they are receiving guaranteed money by the government for doing nothing, though, sometimes it is not the government ... • 37. Gottfried Leibniz Is A Strong Proponent Of The Idea That Gottfried Leibniz is a strong proponent of the idea that everything exists for a reason and that God is the ultimate reason that leads to the creation of our world, the best of all possible worlds. Using the principle of sufficient reason, Leibniz helps us understand the existence of substance and how each substance is synthesized for some particular purpose. He then claims that inevitably the PSR can be indefinitely applied, and eventually leads us back to the existence of God as the main source. Leibniz asserts that under the circumstances provided by the nature of God, the world that is created is the best possible world, as anything else would violate the implications of the PSR. Although Leibniz's proposal of the PSR and his ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Ultimately, Leibniz argues, if we work back far enough along the chain, we reach a point where we can no longer comprehend a reason for something to happen. This is solved by introducing God as the ultimate reason behind anything. Leibniz does not necessarily argue that God is an omnipotent or omnipresent being, but more so uses the concept of God to encompass the motivation for all that is unexplainable. He suggests that whatever reasons we cannot comprehend must be reasons beyond our capability to understand and only fall to God as their creator. God becomes the rational explanation that is necessary to end the chain of inquiry created by the PSR. There is more to God than just being the ultimate reason for things. Leibniz argues that God is motivated to pick the most rational and perfect world there is. An irrational world would not exist, according to the PSR, as it would not serve its purpose as holistically as a rational world could. Unlike Descartes, who was a proponent of the idea that whatever God does is good, Leibniz thinks that rationality precedes God and that God's "reason" for a particular action is that it objectively is the most rational. Thus God's actions are good in the sense that they are the most ideal. God's rationality allows for a universe with minimal laws but the largest amount of phenomena.
