Based around one leader, it focused on powerful nationalism and a strong military. Fascists banded
the people together against a common enemy or scapegoat, often a minority. Mass media was
controlled, human rights were disdained, and every individual was subordinate to the state. The
popular Benito Mussolini was the founder of fascism, becoming dictator of Italy by 1926 with the
help of propaganda. Fascism gained traction in Spain, Romania, Austria, and France as hope

Webster's dictionary defines culture as "the beliefs, customs, arts, etc., of a particular society, group,
place, or time". (Culture) This paper will attempt to inform the reader of those influences that were
instrumental in molding what is the modern culture of Italy. The geography, history, language, art,
food, and religion of the Italian region all combine to form one of the richest cultures on planet
earth. This culture has also been a key influencer of western culture as a whole. By better
understanding these cultural tenants, one may better understand how to interact with and affect

Exceptions to this pattern of stability were the marked increase of the Albanian population and a
steep decline in the numbers of Jews, ethnic Germans, and Hungarians after World War II
(Cushman). Another definitive cause of the Yugoslavian breakup was the nationalism of ethnic
groups in the early 1990s. Nationalism replaced communism as the dominant ideology in the
country. Slovenia and then Croatia were the first to break away, but this caused Serbia to become
hostile towards the two nations. Consequently, the war in Croatia led to hundreds of thousands of

How Did Adolf Eichmann Contribute To The Holocaust?
Adolf Eichmann was born in Solingen, Germany in 1906. Adolf was one of the most important
contributors to the Holocaust and the deportation of the collecting of European Jews during the
Holocaust. As a teen Adolf moved to Linz, Austria with his family, where he completed his
schooling and started training for mechanical engineering. Adolf moved from job to job as a day
labourer, a salesman for a vacuum oil company and a office worker.
At the age of 26 Adolf Eichmann joined the Austrian Nazi Party. Nazi's fled to Bavaria after their
party was banned in Austria which became the Austrian Legion later. Adolf later joined the SS and
then served as a corporal member of the SS at Dachau concentration camp. Nazi terrorists got
financial, logistic and material support from Germany. He studied all aspects of Jewish lifestyles and
attended Jewish meetings and later became known as a 'Jewish specialist'. Adolf was then assigned
to investigate possible solutions to the 'Jewish solution' which was to find out ways to treat the Jews.
Adolf was the main person behind moving jewish people out of their homes and into ghettos, by
cramming thousands of people onto trains and into cars and trucks Adolf sent millions of Jews to
their death. He wanted to move the Jews out and torture them by putting them into concentration
camps

1. Bismarck 's foreign policy was entirely based on preserving his power and Germany's throughout
Europe. After 1870 he was against the idea of expanding Germany and believed that the country was
"satiated." Instead, Bismarck wanted to keep the peace among European countries rather than
engaging in war, therefore keeping Germany safe from attack. He planned to do this through the use

In contrast to Bismarck, Kaiser believed that in order to keep Germany in power and prevent them
from defeat he had to build and strengthen a navy as strong as, if not stronger than England's. In all,
Kaiser's end goal was to make Germany the strongest country in power out of Europe, whereas
Bismarck was content with having good relations with different European countries but also
maintaining his own power throughout the land that he owned.
Bismarck's decisions and policy effected the first World War when he used a series of conflicts to
bring Germany together but also create several enemies. One of these enemies being France played
a big part in World War I later because Germany took the former French territory of Alsace–
Lorraine. This conflict that took place during the time of Bismarck's reign gave France a motive to

Cultural competence is a set of attitudes and behaviors which make an organization run effectively
and judiciously. This competence allows many different cultures to work non–offensively and
professionally in various situations. (Flowers, 2004) Cultural competence involves many different
factors. These factors include actions, communications networks, dialects, human activities, morals,
and religious views. People can successfully be culturally competent when they consciously and
deliberately function in a group with multi–cultural circumstances and respect those differences.

Ferdinand at Sarajevo on June 28, 1914, as the direct cause of World War One. Nonetheless,
historians are in agreement that there were many factors contributing to the conflict between the
Great powers, resulting in a large–scale war to break out. The second industrialization–also known
as the Technological Revolution–from 1870–1914 cultivated industrial societies to emerge and
leading to "new forms of states and of diplomatic and military alignments" (Barzun). These
"military alignments" were later to be known as The Great Powers of Europe. The Great Powers
were divided into two alliances: The Triple Alliance between Germany, Italy & Austria–Hungry–

The Holocaust, defined as "the systematic annihilation of six million Jews (and other non–Germans)
by the Nazi regime" began with the rise of Nazi Germany ("A Historical Summary"). Adolf Hitler is
viewed as the main catalyst, using many different systems to implement his twisted views. One of
the systems used was the implementation of several laws and policies that stripped basic human
rights, as well as social and political rights from persons who were considered non–German living in
Nazi–occupied Europe. These laws included the forbidding of marriage between a German and a
non–German, the stripping of citizenship from anyone who was a non–German, and–widely

The Serbs then dominated Yugoslavia so they then decided to try and expand by setting up Serbian
regions in Bosnia. The Bosnian government did not allow that, thus leading to armed conflicts
between the Serbs and the non–Serbs. Another major difference was the fact that Hitler started the
mass murder within his own country and expanded outward through Imperialism, Bosnia however

I think that if a person would like to work or teach in Ireland and if the knowledge of the Irish
Language is not required for the performance of the teaching duties, he or she should get a full–time
job. Not every Irish person can speak the Irish language, why should foreigners have to learn it? The

Peace in Yugoslavia meant unity. The country was a drawing together of different groups, which
held together from 1919 to the 1980. Before the First World War the Austria ruled the individual
countries of Slovenia, Croatia and Bosnia as well as other countries such as Hungary as part of the
Hapsburg Empire. The other big empire was the Turkish Ottoman Empire. All the individual areas

to listen to wishes of Slovenes and Croats and would not give them any say in decisions concerning
