Directions: As you closely watch the music video, answer the following questions with as
much detail as possible.
1. What are the men/women doing? (Dancing, sitting, swimming, etc.)
The women are dancing, cleaning and cooking, mostly domestic things, while the men
are working to keep the women happy, showing off their strength, and trying to make the
lead singer fall in love with them.
2. How are the men/women dressed? How much skin is revealed?
The women are dressed in skirts and have some of their bodies exposed, but in no provocative
manner, while the men are dressed in a mix of the 40’s and modern day style.
3. Are there more, fewer, or the same number of men as women?
There are a few more men than women in the video
4. Describe the body language of the men/women: are they sitting, standing, gyrating,
mugging, etc.?
Women are dancing and doing very domestic things, like cleaning and cooking. (Not Well, tbh).
The men are showing off their strength by playing carnival games, or trying to please the lead
singer as much as possible.
5. Do the men/women have power? How do you know?
Women seem to have the power since they are the ones that turn down all the men

“This is what you need to do to keep me. I’ll be the perfect little wife if you’re the perfect little

5. What³s the message of the song? It doesn’t matter if you’re black or white, Michael loves
you.

Directions: As you closely watch the music video, answer the following questions with as
much detail as possible.
1. Describe any sexually explicit body language: The women shaking their butts, Nicki playing
with bananas and squirting whipped cream all over herself.
2. Who is more sexualized • men or women? Both? Women, by far. The only man in the video
is Drake and he doesn’t show up until the end.
3. Are there sexually explicit lyrics or messages? Yes, the entire song is about a straight up sex
story.
4. How are subjects of the music video dressed? Very scantily clad that reveal a lot of skin.
There are scenes that have the women dressed in chain-like clothing, short jean shorts and tank
tops, gym clothing, etc.

Casual or serious? Short term and casual, if for the only reason that Nicki grinds on Drake and
then leaves.
