1. “Here comes the boom” thoughts
Sometimes when we are a long time at the same job, the monotony bores us and we lose
the passion, and being a teacher is not an exception, we see many teachers who just enter
the classroom, stand in front to give a lot of information and nothing else; they do not
inspire their students, they do not put effort to give a meaningful learning and they do not
enjoy what they do, but they have to think really hard about it, because teaching is
complex, it require a lot of effort and work.
In the film we can see that this is exactly what happens to the protagonist, he is a teacher
that with the pass of time has lost the will to teach, because he says that when he first
taught he jumped on his desk, from chair to chair, do all kinds of jokes and much more to
get the attention of his students. It is true, that teachers do not need to be clowns to
teach, but they need a little bit of it to teach rightly; also they have to be a little
psychologist, actor, consoler and much more. All these skills will help teachers every day,
because teachers do not only teach data, facts, history, etc. they teach behavior, values,
life.
Teachers must teach knowledge, but also they must teach how to make that knowledge to
produce. They must learn what exists but also work in the production of knowledge that
does not exist. We know what we do not know and what we know.
Finally, we know that is hard to be a teacher, but teachers must fight for it, to do it right
and well, because they are educating people to be good for the society, and then these
people are going to educate others to be good and so on, so teachers teach for the
present and for the future of the humanity.
