Li-Fi uses visible light communication and LED bulbs to transmit data wirelessly. It is a newer technology than Wi-Fi that provides higher speeds and more secure transmission since light cannot pass through opaque objects. Li-Fi works by switching LED bulbs on and off very fast to transmit digital signals, with photo detectors at the receiving end that translate light pulses into electronic signals. While Li-Fi has advantages over Wi-Fi like higher speeds and no radio interference, Wi-Fi currently has wider range and can be used outdoors. Li-Fi is expected to complement and eventually replace Wi-Fi for wireless internet access.
2. How Satellites Work
1. A Earth Station sends
message in GHz range.
(Uplink)
2. Satellite Receive and
retransmit signals back.
(Downlink)
3. Other Earth Stations
receive message in useful
strength area.
