A redundancy situation will generally occur when a decision is made that an employee’s job
no longer exists. This may happen for a number of reasons, for example, recession, company
restructure, operations relocated or efficiency cuts.
Knowing how to manage redundancy is an essential part of a manager’s role and if not
managed in the correct way redundancy can have a far reaching impact within an organisation.
Redundancies can be costly, time consuming and have a negative effect on staff morale.
As a result, this online training course has been developed to provide learners with an increased
understanding of how to manage redundancy, including the legal framework and the process to
follow for a fair redundancy.
