2. • The human rights act 1998 is an act of parliament, its aim
is too make the rights of the public, more known so they
will know what rights they have and to make sure that
their rights are met.
3. • The race relations act is used to stop discrimination
against people from different races, and to stop racism,
against people of different, religion, colour, nationality,
etc.
4. • The licensing act is used to make sure that people of
different businesses such as pubs, restaurants , bars , off
license shops have a license to sell products such as
alcohol in them businesses.
5. • The privacy law, is a law which makes sure that all
people have the privacy that they need, which the law
deals with the personal information that is shared with the
government , and other public and private organisation
and make sure that it isn’t shared with people it doesn’t
need to be shared with.
6. • The copyright and intellectual property law, is a law to
make sure that when people use other people’s stuff
which is mostly done online such as the information they
find and claim as their own which would be copyright.
7. • Libel and slander laws which is known as English
defamation law is used, most commonly when the press
print lies about celebrities in the papers, or when
something is broadcasted over the tv or radio about the
celebrities which isn’t true or can cause harm to that
person, which the celebrities have to file a lawsuit against
that company/person and give a statement about why the
stuff printed or said isn’t true.
8. • The obscene publications act, was enforced by the
bbfc(british board of film classification) so there was more
control over indecent parts in videos and films, by giving
each film and video an age that the audience have to be
to view them because of the material in them.
9. • There are two different broadcasting acts, 1990 and
1996. The broadcasting act 1990 was an act to make
sure viewers were paying for the TV they watch, by
making the viewers pay for a tv licence.
• The broadcasting act 1996, was more to make sure that
the broadcaster took into consideration, what they
viewers thought , such as the complaints that were made
, were seen too and make sure no more complaints were
made.
