Engaging for Change
Some elements of personal growth, especially
behaviour, can be changed quite readily but the
personal core of beliefs, purpose and motivation are
rarely open to change.
Engaging for Change
Your Core Motives
Are difficult to see – your
purpose, intentions and values.
They are who you are at the
core. Your motives anchor your
strengths. They are the reason
why you do what you do.
People
Performance
Process
Who
you are
Your core is the essential you. It’s the motives behind your behaviours. Everyone has a blend
of three primary motives...concerns for:
Your Core is a blend of three primary motives:
People, Performance, and Process.
We all share a desire to feel good about ourselves, but we
experience these desires and feelings in different ways.
Everyone has some Blue, Red and Green motives but these
motives are present in different frequencies in different
people.
Your Motivational Value System (Core) describes the motives
that drive behaviours and helps explain the way people
perceive things differently. It also gives insight into people’s
values and how they intend to use their strengths
productively.
Your Strengths
Are what people see – your actions
and behaviours. They shift based on
the environment. Like a buoy they
are connected to something deeper.
Engaging for Change
Know yourself and understand who you are and what makes you what you are.
Understand how your personal view can act as a filter to the way you see others.
Respect other people’s desire to be what they want to be even if it’s different from you.
Choose your behaviours appropriately and have responsibility for them.

  • 3. Engaging for Change Some elements of personal growth, especially behaviour, can be changed quite readily but the personal core of beliefs, purpose and motivation are rarely open to change.
  • 5. Your Core Motives Are difficult to see – your purpose, intentions and values. They are who you are at the core. Your motives anchor your strengths. They are the reason why you do what you do.
  • 6. People Performance Process Who you are Your core is the essential you. It’s the motives behind your behaviours. Everyone has a blend of three primary motives...concerns for:
  • 7. Your Core is a blend of three primary motives: People, Performance, and Process. We all share a desire to feel good about ourselves, but we experience these desires and feelings in different ways. Everyone has some Blue, Red and Green motives but these motives are present in different frequencies in different people. Your Motivational Value System (Core) describes the motives that drive behaviours and helps explain the way people perceive things differently. It also gives insight into people’s values and how they intend to use their strengths productively.
  • 8. Your Strengths Are what people see – your actions and behaviours. They shift based on the environment. Like a buoy they are connected to something deeper.

  • 11. Engaging for Change Know yourself and understand who you are and what makes you what you are. Understand how your personal view can act as a filter to the way you see others. Respect other people’s desire to be what they want to be even if it’s different from you. Choose your behaviours appropriately and have responsibility for them.
