4. What is the purpose of the STaR Chart? Assess how teachers, campuses and districts are measuring up to the four main areas of the Texas Long Range Plan for Technology. Determine progress towards meeting goals of the Long Range Plan, as well as goals of the district. Assist in determining Professional Development needs of teachers. Determine funding priorities. Provide data for grants or other resources.
5. What data is collected? There are four areas measured using the STaR Chart: Teaching and Learning Educator Preparation and Development Leadership, Administration and Instructional Support Infrastructure for Technology Results are formulated once all campus personnel complete the STaR Chart and are categorized in four ways: Early Technology Developing Technology Advanced Technology Target Technology
7. How does First Colony measure up? Based on the previous graph it is clear that most campuses in the state fall in the Developing Technology Category in all areas, except for Administration & Support and Infrastructure, where Advanced Technology is the norm. First Colony currently falls in Advanced Technology in all categories which means we are performing above the majority. Lets check out our results: http://starchart2.esc12.net/
8. Looking Ahead… Based on our results from last year it is evident that we as a campus have needs that are not being fully met. By focusing on these areas we can stay ahead of the state and do more to integrate technology into our classroom so that the 21st century learners needs are being met.
