2. Hannah,Tenisha and I showed people our film trailer
entitled WorkingTitle:The Hunted, our magazine front
cover and our film poster, advertising our film. Feedback
is very important when it comes to creating a media
product, you need feedback to see what you need to
improve on and what will cater to your chosen target
audience.
Overview:
3. In order for our group to make our film trailer look the best could
have we asked members of our school what they liked about the film
trailer and what they didn't like. One of the things they told us to
change was from the film trailer in which they said that it should be
set in a not too distant future rather than present day setting as most
movies with a corrupt government are set in the future.
4. Positives- Ben liked the trailer as he said it had a good flowing story, he
could tell that it was set in a dystopian future as the caption “London City
2028” was shown at the beginning of the trailer and that characters were
shown to be in peril and running away from something. He also said that it
was clear that it was a thriller and not a horror as there was no gore and
deaths weren't being shown.
Negatives- I showed Ben the first draft of the film trailer and he said that it
was way too short, also there were a few errors, for example the camera
man can be seen in a couple of the shots so we tried to edit those out and we
made sure that the film trailer was longer, before it was less that 40 seconds
but the final version clocks in at 1:48.
In addition, Ben was also confused about the film trailer’s name, as he
thought that it was a ‘working title’. This feedback, required a reshoot and
for the protagonist to make reference to “the WorkingTitle Facility” to
clarify this uncertainty.
Feedback from Ben:
5. Michael said that he really liked the film trailer as it was really realistic in terms of setting and
circumstance, he noticed that we took inspiration from Black Mirror: White Bear in terms of the
people not helping the two characters who were being chased through the building. He also said
he could understand how a government could come to the circumstance of organising crime and
pinning it on certain people to reduce the overall effect of it.
Michael also believed that we included sufficient enigma codes to engage the audience. Michael
believed that there should have been more emphasis on the house: the safe zone. However, most
trailers have enigma codes and do not adhere to Todorov’s Narrative Theory: as there is no
resolution.
Feedback from Michael
6. After we received our feedback, we made sure that all of our products could
be recognised by audiences and all related to each other. In our film trailer,
magazine front cover and film poster we made sure that the main character
“The Warden” who is played by Colin Nicholson features in all three media
texts: as it was important all media texts were synergised.
