3. The garment industry of Bangladesh has been the
key export division and a main source of foreign
exchange for the last 25 years. At present, the
country generates about $5 billion worth of
products each year by exporting garment. The
industry provides employment to about 3 million
workers of whom 90% are women.
The annual export income of garments sector is
driven from two sources one is woven garments
and others is knit wear.
Bangladeshi garments industry has some severe
problems.

LTD. The area of concentration of this report is
confined in investigating different aspects of the

organization to know the workers psychology.
6. Several authors have analyzed aspects of the garment
industry in Bangladesh. Of the various aspects of
the industry, the problems and the working
conditions of female workers have received the
greatest attention.
There are several studies including the Bangladesh
Institute of Development Studies (BIDS) study by
Salma Chowdhury and Protima Mazumdar (1991)
and the Bangladesh Unnayan Parisad (1990) study
on this topic

kinds of information.
The primary information has been collected from
the Institutional executives and as well as some
general labor of the garments.
Secondary information was gathered from annual
reports and other published paper. We use another
2 methods. Such as:
Statistical Method (Pie chart, Bar chart).
Questionnaire (first we develop some question,
make survey over it then prepare this report)

mission to improve the quality of human life by
providing innovative washing process and dyeing
facility.
Ayesha Washing Ltd. is a branch of Palmal Group
where cloths from different sector of Palmal Group
come and washed here which is situated in
Jamgora, Ashulia, Savar, Dhaka.

10. Bangladesh Perspective
Garment workers are facing the axe for attempted
unionization. The government is going to convert
Workers Welfare Associations (WWA) into trade
unions to allow the readymade garment workers
for the formation of trade unions at the factories
located at the Export Processing Zones (EPZs),
as part of a move to fulfill the US conditions, for
regaining the suspended GSP facilities.

Commenting on the trade unionism in the RMG sector, the
minister Tofail Ahmed, however, categorically said,
“Though there has been no trade union in the US so far, but
they are forcing us to allow trade union Bangladesh.
Bangladesh amended the labor law in July 2013 amid
widespread criticism following the collapse of the Rana
Plaza building, which killed more than 1,100 people
The DoL has only 149 registered TU for garments sectors
despite the workers' desire and lawful premises to form TU
at 5000 plus. Of the 149 TUs, 125 are in Dhaka zone and
remaining 24 are in Chittagong division.
Most of the registered trade unions in the garments sector
got registration before nineties and a few 10 to 12 numbers
of registration got in the last two years.

We survey approximately 30 workers of Ayesha
Washing Ltd on their working conditions and
about their trade union in the organization and the
findings are follow:

Industry. Ayesha Washing Ltd follows the nation law.
This company provides compensation to cover the living
standard expense. Ayesha Washing Ltd sometime does
not able to pay the worker salary in proper week time
schedule for this reason workers are dissatisfied company
always prepared to pay compensation for insured
workers. Ayesha Washing Ltd has no Trade union to
protect workers right .Most of the worker have no
knowledge about Trade union also unknown them .The
company does not use any physical punishment, mental
and verbal abuse for any types of fault occurred by the
workers.
