later in order to mess with operations.
• Driver strikes globally due to low pay.
• Unfair surge pricing even during emergenicies like – Hurricane Sandy
• Loss of $1.8 bn in 2018, due to cutting prices to points wherein margins were negative and spending on recruitment of
drivers in the USA to undercut ‘Lyft’ and spending heavily on food delivery and scooters.
• #deleteuber movement in 2017 led to the app being deleted by over 200,000 users. The movement began because uber
did not sympathize with the taxi drivers strike in New York against Trump’s order to ban travelers from 7 Muslim majority
countries.
• Usage of ‘Greyball’ software to evade government scrutiny and to deny rides to users suspected of violating terms and
conditions.
