Argumentative Water Essay
There is a water crisis which faces many parts of the world and it is a threat to survival of human
beings since humans are primarily dependent on water. Shortage in drinking water is beginning to
show its effects in first world countries, but is a current major problem facing lesser developed
countries which have not taken drastic steps to harvest water and purify it to make it safe for human
consumption. In developed countries the population growth has strained available water resources
and stretched the ability of governments and private firms to provide safe drinking water to the vast
majority of the population. Seventy one percent of...show more content...
Many populations, the majority being in Africa, face many water–borne diseases mainly due to
pollution of water resources. The option then becomes to either drink polluted water or not have
anything at all. Continual Human development such as population growth and industrial growth
have further drained water resources, causing a shortage of drinking water. As a result, there are
many conflicts over ownership of water resources and these lead to injuries or fatalities.(2) As
mentioned before, this shows why it is so important to find a solution to the issue of water shortage.
In the United States, the available water resources is also under assault. Half of water collected
and stored by existing infrastructure is usually used in the production of electricity. This forces
the population to use and divide what little there is left. This has always been a "good enough"
approach until now, when water prices and population is on the rise.(3) There are already calls for
charging water resources in order to increase efficiency of use.(3) Water protection is already being
carried out and has been for years, but there is still water pollution occurring within the United
States. After the Civil war, America strived to provide its population with clean water

Argumentative Essay On College Cost
In the United States today, college costs have grown faster than prices in other categories, the tuition
growth has outpaced overall price growth in recent years. Many colleges raise tuition because they
are uninhibited by the normal economic forces. Additionally, the higher education institutions have
few reasons to keep costs low to attract more students. Thus young adults face high cost increases
without necessarily improving the quality of education. Subsequently, families suffer hardships on
paying the college fees and undergo the many burdens. The college costs problem should be
addressed because the underlying costs keep rising and there is little effort to control the costs
leading to many young adults facing financial crisis without the quality of good education they
deserve.
Fewer students are able to attend college, especially students of lower income because of the
increasing college costs. The cost of college is also decreasing the number of students able to attend
their top choice school. According to The Fiscal Times, a recent survey by theHigher Education
Research Institute at UCLA finds that the percentage of incoming students attending their
first–choice college or university declined in 2011 to 57.9 percent, down from 60.5 percent...show

The high costs of college tuitions are hurting the economy. There is a decreased amount of aid
available for the neediest students. Four years ago, 81% of people believed that a college
education is a good investment. That number has fallen sharply to 57% due to a combination of
lack of available jobs and the increasing price of college. In order to find a good job, one must
have a college degree but employment is not guaranteed, regardless of education. In order to reduce
debt and increase the number of college students, the government must make actions to stop the
rising cost of college and take steps to guarantee jobs for college

Argumentative Essay On Mental Health
Mental health is treated much more different than many physical diseases and in the words of the
previous First Lady, Michelle Obama, "When it comes to mental health conditions, we often treat
them differently from other diseases like cancer, diabetes or asthma. Whether an illness affects your
heart, your leg or your brain, it's still an illness, and there should be no distinction."
Mental health conditions are highly stigmatized even in spite that they are extremely common. The
amount of people who have a mental health condition is over Forty million and more than the
populations of New York and Florida combined ("The State of Mental Health in America."). In fact,
in 2014 about one in five American adults experienced a mental health issue, one in ten young
people experienced a period of major depression, one in twenty–five Americans lived with a serious
mental illness, such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, or major depression ("Mental Health Myths
and Facts").
Examples of estimated amounts of the American population, One in five (or 43.8 million) adults
experience mental illness in a given year, one in twenty–five (or 10 million) adults experience a
serious mental illness, one in a hundred (or 2.4 million) live with schizophrenia, 2.6% (or 6.1
million) of Americans have bipolar disorder, 6.9% (or 16 million) suffer from severe depression,
18.1% (or 42 million) live with an anxiety disorder. (Bach, Natasha).

Trial By Jury Essay
A Jury plays a necessary part in the criminal justice system in England and Wales. Trial by jury is
one of the ways that could be useful for reaching justice in the courts. The jury has 12 citizens who
are chosen randomly from different genders and different ages. (The Guardian, 2005) the jurors
work is to help the judge to a make decision about the case so the lawyers show them the evidence
and anything related to the case and then the jurors will try to make the right judgment whether the
criminal is guilty or not. People argue that they want the trial without the jury system because it is
not fair enough and there are other reasons such as the jurors do not have enough experience, jury
system is not fairest form of justice, they do not represent the society and jury...show more content...
For instance, the juror could take bribe from the criminal to be in his or hers side. An example can
be mentioned here is the case of Vybz Kartel. According to AP NEWS (2013) there was a male juror
arrested because he tried to bribe the jury foreman to release Vybz Kartel (BBC NEWS 2014).
However, the chance of being corrupted for the jury is less than the judge. For example, it is
difficult to have 12 corrupted jurors as well as even the judge can be corrupted. According to BBC
NEWS (2013), the judge Akil Mochtar has been arrested regarding acceptance of taking a bribe of
ВЈ154,000.
Finally, there is an argument confirmed that, the jury system cost too much money. So to clarify this
argument Brian Kelly in the BBC NEWS mentioned that, the jury trial costs more than ВЈ8,000 per
day. Also Guy Hammond from the BBC NEWS said, "I realise that the court system is costing
taxpayers millions" so it is cost too much money (BBC NEWS ,2001). However, the argument
against this say that the high cost of the jury system is the price of the justice so it does not matter
how much it will cost (BBC NEWS,

Argumentative Essay On Climate Change
Over the years there has been a lot of controversy on if climate change is an issue that needs to be
discussed and solved. There is a constant debate among scientist on if human actions are contributing
the changing of earth's climates. Climate change is defined as the change in average weather
patterns for a specific region or Earth as a whole. This could include the change in an average
temperature for a city or the amount a rainfall it receives (Dunbar, 2015). The main difference
between weather and climate is the period of time specific patterns are recorded. Weather patterns
are looked at over a much shorter period of time, meaning that these patterns are going to be more
sporadic and change more frequently. Climate on the other had is recorded over a much longer
period of time and usually show less drastic changes in patterns when compared to weather. Some
people may argue that climate change is not an issue because Earth's temperature is always changing
do to natural effects. What people don't realize is that human activity has effected the rate that earth's
temperature is changing, and just the smallest changes can lead to drastic consequences (Dunbar,
2015). One of the main reasons that earth's temperatures are rising are due to greenhouse gases.
Greenhouse gases are created when humans burn fossil fuels such as coals, natural gases, and oils
to produce heat or electricity. These gases are then capable of trapping infrared radiation sent by the
sun. Once these

Argumentative Essay On Screen Time
Technology has been part of our daily live more frequently than before. Screen time has been more
popularly used on kids and adolescents. On a daily bases many kids seem to spend more time
inside on their tablets, instead of having to spend time with other kids. This is a problem that is
becoming more popular over the years,on whether kids need to spend that much time on technology
or not. Parents either seem to have strict technology usage, or they either don't. There has always
been a huge controversy with experts, who either think that screen time is beneficial or could cause
problems later on in life. There are many views towards this topic, from hurting kids brains, to
helping them during school, and socially.
Many people, including...show more content...
In order to balance both there has to be comparative with the parents. Technology isn't good nor
bad. It can only benefit the child if the parents put a limit to their time in the screen. Parents need to
set up a schedule in where the kids will follow the time the kids will be using the tablet/ phone. As
well have time to play with other kids, and just interact with there own family member. In the
article, Screen time: A guide for parents states, " keeping computers out of the bedroom, and keep
them in a common area in your house. This will make sure that the child isn't using their
computers/ tablets during the time they have to rest. Kids need to have a good rest, and not having
technology in their rooms because it could cause irregular sleep. Just having the parent take action
in how much kids need to spend time in the screens can be a good start. Luscombe argues, " Take
away the idea that all screens are bad, but the face–to –face time for young people is an important
part of the socialization process". Parents seem to not understand that children need to develop
good social skills, and that can only be done by interacting with others, and get a sense on others
points of views. Parents need to stop giving the kids technology to keep them quiet for a while,
because at the end it's hurting the child

Argumentative Essay On Vegetarianism
Around 7.3 million people in the United States are vegetarian ("Vegetarian Times"). The dictionary
defines a vegetarian as "A person who does not eat meat, and sometimes other animal products,
especially for moral, religious or health reasons" ("Vegetarian Definition"). Practicing a religion that
advocates vegetarianism is one of many reasons some people follow a vegetarian diet. A senior at
Liberty–Benton High School who considers herself a pescatarian, a person whose only meat source
is fish and seafood, promotes others to join in on a diet like hers. She claims that over the three
years of her pescatarian diet she has become healthier and happier. Vegetarianism is a controversial
topic, but overall, it creates a healthier lifestyle,...show more content...
During the 80's and 90's, people became vegetarians more because of environmental issues. In the
mid 90's, the Mad Cow disease, Listeria, and Salmonella break out occurred, making people more
cautious of meat eating.
The Animal Welfare Act was established in 1996 and signed by Lyndon B. Johnson (Animal
Welfare Act). The Animal Welfare Act has authority over animals in laboratories, animal exhibitors,
dealers who sell animals to research laboratories, dog and cat breeders, animal carriers, intermediate
handlers, circuses, zoos, puppy roadside menageries, mills, and transporters of animals. Under the
Act, people must provide their animals with adequate care and treatment in the areas of housing,
handling, sanitation, nutrition, water, veterinary care, and protection from extreme weather and
temperatures (Animal Welfare Act). People that disobey the Act can receive punishments such as
revoked license, imprisonment, or a fine. Over one million birds and mammals are violently killed
every hour in the United States, and an estimated 150 billion animals per year are murdered
worldwide (Arora). Animal slaughterhouses for large food companies are known for animal cruelty
and vegetarians recognize this. Many vegetarians also boycott places like SeaWorld who keep wild
animals locked in cages. Every day in countries around the world, animals are fighting for their lives.
They are enslaved, beaten, and kept in chains to make them perform for human "entertainment."

Step 1 – Choose a Good Topic
When writing an essay, it is important to choose a topic that is not too broad. For example, do not
write about football. Choose something more specific, like football drills, the greatest football team,
football equipment, football practice, etc.
It is important that you can think of three main ideas that...show more content...

It is important to write a rough draft to share with a friend or parent to edit. When editing, ask
someone to check that you stayed on topic and used proper writing conventions, such as good
spelling, usage, mechanics and grammar.
Last, you want to write a final copy. This should be error free. It can be written in pen or typed.
Most teachers like a typed copy; however, neatly written essays in pen are acceptable as well.
Teachers generally grade an essay on the following criteria: interesting content, organization and
writing conventions.
Writing a good five paragraph essay can take some time. Do not wait until the last minute and make
sure to have someone edit it before you turn in the final copy to your teacher.

How to Write an Argumentative Essay Step by Step
Argumentative essays intimidate lots of students because of the structure an instructor expects.
Instructors will expect well–written, tightly–argued essays, but that doesn't mean the paper needs to
be twenty pages long or should refer to a dozen or more sources. What it does mean, however, is
that a student takes a stand on an issue, presents his side of the argument while refuting his
opposition, and also integrates outside sources that help support his point of view.

Argumentative Essay On Single Parents
Chris Polito Paola Brown Eng102
25 March 2008
Single Parent Struggle
For many years, children growing up in a single parent family have been viewed as different.
Being raised by only one parent seems impossible to many yet over the decades it has become
more prevalent. In today's society many children have grown up to become emotionally stable and
successful whether they had one or two parents to show them the rocky path that life bestows
upon all human beings. The problem lies in the difference of children raised by single parents
versus children raised by both a mother and a father. Does a child need both parents? Does a young
boy need a father figure around? Does the government provide help for single parents? What role do
step–parents and step–siblings play? With much speculation, this topic has become a very intriguing
argument. What people must understand is that properly raising a child does not rely on the
structure of a family but should be more focused on the process or values that are taught to these
children as they learn to mature. Children of single parents can be just as progressive with
emotional, social and behavioral skills as those with two parents.
People claim that the only way for children to gain full emotional and behavioral skills is to be
raised by both a mother and a father. When a topic such as this one has a broad amount of variables
it is impossible to simply link these problems to only having one parent. In the article, "Single–parent
families cause juvenile crime", author Robert L. Maginnis states, "Children from single–parent
families are more likely to have behavior
Polito 1 problems because they tend to lack economic security and adequate time with parents". The
simple statement that raw criminals are products of single–parent adolescence is absurd. What this
writer must understand is that it can be extremely difficult for one parent to raise a child by
themselves for many reasons. A single–parent must work full time to be able to afford to provide for
themselves and their child. They must also be able to still have time to offer an exuberant amount
of emotional time for the well being of their child. However, even though this may seem impossible,
it can be done.

The Argument Of Arts And Culture
Culture is part of our everyday life; it can be anything from sports, food, clothing or even lifestyle.
On the onset, the support of arts and culture should not be limited to the cultural argument alone, as
one cannot deny that arts and culture is important for the growth of society. Apart from the financial
aspect of a society, arts and culture go a long way towards making the society more holistic.
With this in mind, the author will firstly examine the two different approaches to arts and culture;
namely cultural arguments as opposed to the creative industries or economic arguments. Secondly,
the author will discuss about why arts and culture should live on and be funded, without putting
creative industries approach towards it.

As Paul Keating suggests,
"This cultural policy is also an economic policy. Culture creates wealth. Broadly defined, our cultural
industries generate 13 billion dollars a year. Culture [employs and] adds value; it makes an essential
contribution to innovation, marketing and design. It is a badge of our industry. The level of our

Argumentative Essay On Death And Dying
Death and Dying is a normal process part of everyone's lifecycle, and yet, is often a hidden topic
and not discussed on a regular basis. Death is something we learn about over our own lifetime as
we lose those dear to our hearts and mourn the loss that we experience. No two people experience
death and react to death in the exact same way. Often, differing family and cultural practices can
influence how one reacts and copes with death or a loss.
The earliest death that I experienced and remember was that of my grandpa Eugene. I was in
kindergarten and it was shortly after we had gotten back from our family reunion out in
California. I remember going up to North Dakota in march which and I couldn't understand why
because we only went to go up there during the summer normally. I vaguely remember being very
hungry and making my dad leave the funeral home to bring me to get food. I remember sleeping
during the service and waking up just in time to go to the cemetery. I also remember throwing
flowers into the hole in the ground because everyone else was doing it but I still didn't understand
what was going on. The thing that I remember most about his death was walking up to the open
casket. I didn't understand why my grandpa was laying like this and I didn't get what "grandpa
died," meant. I stood there and kept poking his face, his eyes, and playing with his cheeks until
my uncle saw what I was doing and pulled me away to go sit with my cousins. From this
experience, I learned about what death is and how it happens to everyone at some point in their
life. I learned a great deal about mourning through observing my family members share old photos
and stories and crying it out with each other. At this age, I thought death was something that only
happened to old people. I also through death is unexpected and sad for everyone because that is
how the death of my grandpa was.
My most significant death in my life was the loss my classmate, peer, and childhood friend Maddy
from a car accident. These together were the most significant because I learned a great deal about
life through the loss of both. I was a junior in high school on the first Thursday of class where we all
sat knowing Maddy had died because we saw it

social media we do not need to move a lot. It is okay just to stay. We do not need to active a lot. As

What Is An Argumentative Passage Analysis
What is an argumentative passage analysis?
In a passage analysis, you take some piece of written prose which contains an argument and extract
the argument from it. In order to do this, you must identify the conclusion of the argument, as well as
any premises that support the conclusion, and structure them in such a way that the argument is
clearly valid (if indeed it is valid in the passage).
Here is an example of an argumentative passage:
Socrates is a man, and all men are mortal. As such, Socrates is mortal.
Properly analysed, this passage could be put into premise–conclusion form as follows:
Socrates is a man.
All men are mortal.
в€
ґ Socrates is mortal.
That was an easy example. Sometimes it's more difficult to tell which claim is the conclusion and
which are the premises. Consider:
But of course, this argument is terribly misguided. After all, by any reasonable definition of the
word "human," an unborn child of any age is as much a human as you or me. That is why abortion is
never permissible. The aforementioned argument is right to say that it is never permissible to kill
humans, but wrong to say that fetuses are not humans.
This passage is much more difficult to formalize. The first problem we encounter is that it's not clear
which sentence contains the thesis. We may be tempted to look towards the first and last sentences
for a clue, but it seems unlikely that either of these is the main point being argued by the author. At
the very least, those do not seem to be the

Argumentative Essay On Water Pollution
In recent times, a popular issue that sparks much controversy amongst the population is Pollution.
Since the Industrial Revolution, pollution has been rapidly increasing, whether it be air pollution or
soil pollution, the effects are prevalent. From the Great Barrier Reef slowly dying, to the polar ice
caps melting to climate change, pollution has been much more noticeable than in prior times.
Although, it is clear that pollution is causing great issues for our environment, many fail to
acknowledge the issue and or simply overlook the issues, especially if they do not notice how these
issues affect them personally. These effects on our environment actually impact the human body and
can affect different systems within the body such as the respiratory, reproductive orimmune system.
An issue that deserves recognition would be that of the affects of water pollution and access to clean
water on the immune system. Water is an essential factor for the survival of human beings. As a
matter of fact, life can occur on Earth because of water. Although, waster is an essential to life,
there are many in have little to no access to clean water. Water is necessary because it can help
nutrients travel within the body as well as filter out the kidneys. If one was to drink polluted water,
then they are exposing their body's systems to harmful bacteria that can harm the different systems
such as the respiratory, immune and nerve system. Exposure to water pollution and lack of access to

how everything connects.
Another benefit of homework is that engaging in homework encourages creativity. According to "
Do students have too much homework", the skills that you get from doing homework such as
creativity, inventiveness, and seeing a bigger picture are the most important. Many students do not
realize that homework can enable the student to be wiser and develop skills that are useful.
Creativity is an essential part in

Failure is the step towards success. Do you agree?
It is often assumed that failure is a deterrent to achievement. Rather, failure should be seen as a
motivator for a person to keep trying until the objective or aim of a particular mission is fulfilled.
Failure often times leads a person to feel helpless, disappointed and depressed. However, one should
not allow this to set them back in trying to achieve the ultimate aim one has set out to do. Failure in
the beginning can often be a powerful incentive to reassess one's position in wanting to achieve the
particular aims; to analyse whether the purpose is worth the trouble the person has to undergo and
the whether the obstacles are surmountable. Practical and...show more content...
Another disadvantage of being an only is that he lacks companionship. He has no brother or sister
to confide in. Growing up as an only child can be very lonely. If you have siblings you will have
to share everything, so you get less; but you also get less of the bad things. Siblings can support
and comfort each in times of trouble. The elder siblings learn to care for the younger ones and the
younger ones learn to respect their elder siblings and have someone to look up to besides their
parents. You are more balanced person than an only child. Another advantage of having siblings is
that your parents' attention is divided among your siblings. As a result, there is less pressure on you
to perform well, be it academically or in other areas. Having siblings also means that you have
companionship, the joy of caring and sharing, and security. I, personally, am happy that I am not an
only child.
Students should not take up part time jobs. Discuss.
Nowadays, students love to have part–time jobs. Their parents approve it easily as they are said to
gain experience from working. However, having a job is a big responsibility for a student. Before,
teenagers at their age were working to help their family because of poverty. Nevertheless, they
were actually eager to study and learn at school for their future. It was not the same as the teenagers
nowadays where they are more likely competing to each other to have a job. Most of the

Argumentative Essay Steps

  • 1. Argumentative Essay : Drinking Water Shortage Matthew D.Nicholas Professor Kimberly Sullivan English 101 20 August 2014 Argumentative Water Essay There is a water crisis which faces many parts of the world and it is a threat to survival of human beings since humans are primarily dependent on water. Shortage in drinking water is beginning to show its effects in first world countries, but is a current major problem facing lesser developed countries which have not taken drastic steps to harvest water and purify it to make it safe for human consumption. In developed countries the population growth has strained available water resources and stretched the ability of governments and private firms to provide safe drinking water to the vast majority of the population. Seventy one percent of...show more content... Many populations, the majority being in Africa, face many water–borne diseases mainly due to pollution of water resources. The option then becomes to either drink polluted water or not have anything at all. Continual Human development such as population growth and industrial growth have further drained water resources, causing a shortage of drinking water. As a result, there are many conflicts over ownership of water resources and these lead to injuries or fatalities.(2) As mentioned before, this shows why it is so important to find a solution to the issue of water shortage. In the United States, the available water resources is also under assault. Half of water collected and stored by existing infrastructure is usually used in the production of electricity. This forces the population to use and divide what little there is left. This has always been a "good enough" approach until now, when water prices and population is on the rise.(3) There are already calls for charging water resources in order to increase efficiency of use.(3) Water protection is already being carried out and has been for years, but there is still water pollution occurring within the United States. After the Civil war, America strived to provide its population with clean water Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. Argumentative Essay On College Cost In the United States today, college costs have grown faster than prices in other categories, the tuition growth has outpaced overall price growth in recent years. Many colleges raise tuition because they are uninhibited by the normal economic forces. Additionally, the higher education institutions have few reasons to keep costs low to attract more students. Thus young adults face high cost increases without necessarily improving the quality of education. Subsequently, families suffer hardships on paying the college fees and undergo the many burdens. The college costs problem should be addressed because the underlying costs keep rising and there is little effort to control the costs leading to many young adults facing financial crisis without the quality of good education they deserve. Fewer students are able to attend college, especially students of lower income because of the increasing college costs. The cost of college is also decreasing the number of students able to attend their top choice school. According to The Fiscal Times, a recent survey by theHigher Education Research Institute at UCLA finds that the percentage of incoming students attending their first–choice college or university declined in 2011 to 57.9 percent, down from 60.5 percent...show more content... The high costs of college tuitions are hurting the economy. There is a decreased amount of aid available for the neediest students. Four years ago, 81% of people believed that a college education is a good investment. That number has fallen sharply to 57% due to a combination of lack of available jobs and the increasing price of college. In order to find a good job, one must have a college degree but employment is not guaranteed, regardless of education. In order to reduce debt and increase the number of college students, the government must make actions to stop the rising cost of college and take steps to guarantee jobs for college Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 5. Argumentative Essay On Mental Health Mental health is treated much more different than many physical diseases and in the words of the previous First Lady, Michelle Obama, "When it comes to mental health conditions, we often treat them differently from other diseases like cancer, diabetes or asthma. Whether an illness affects your heart, your leg or your brain, it's still an illness, and there should be no distinction." Mental health conditions are highly stigmatized even in spite that they are extremely common. The amount of people who have a mental health condition is over Forty million and more than the populations of New York and Florida combined ("The State of Mental Health in America."). In fact, in 2014 about one in five American adults experienced a mental health issue, one in ten young people experienced a period of major depression, one in twenty–five Americans lived with a serious mental illness, such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, or major depression ("Mental Health Myths and Facts"). Examples of estimated amounts of the American population, One in five (or 43.8 million) adults experience mental illness in a given year, one in twenty–five (or 10 million) adults experience a serious mental illness, one in a hundred (or 2.4 million) live with schizophrenia, 2.6% (or 6.1 million) of Americans have bipolar disorder, 6.9% (or 16 million) suffer from severe depression, 18.1% (or 42 million) live with an anxiety disorder. • 6. Trial By Jury Essay A Jury plays a necessary part in the criminal justice system in England and Wales. Trial by jury is one of the ways that could be useful for reaching justice in the courts. The jury has 12 citizens who are chosen randomly from different genders and different ages. (The Guardian, 2005) the jurors work is to help the judge to a make decision about the case so the lawyers show them the evidence and anything related to the case and then the jurors will try to make the right judgment whether the criminal is guilty or not. People argue that they want the trial without the jury system because it is not fair enough and there are other reasons such as the jurors do not have enough experience, jury system is not fairest form of justice, they do not represent the society and jury...show more content... For instance, the juror could take bribe from the criminal to be in his or hers side. An example can be mentioned here is the case of Vybz Kartel. According to AP NEWS (2013) there was a male juror arrested because he tried to bribe the jury foreman to release Vybz Kartel (BBC NEWS 2014). However, the chance of being corrupted for the jury is less than the judge. For example, it is difficult to have 12 corrupted jurors as well as even the judge can be corrupted. According to BBC NEWS (2013), the judge Akil Mochtar has been arrested regarding acceptance of taking a bribe of ВЈ154,000. Finally, there is an argument confirmed that, the jury system cost too much money. So to clarify this argument Brian Kelly in the BBC NEWS mentioned that, the jury trial costs more than ВЈ8,000 per day. Also Guy Hammond from the BBC NEWS said, "I realise that the court system is costing taxpayers millions" so it is cost too much money (BBC NEWS ,2001). However, the argument against this say that the high cost of the jury system is the price of the justice so it does not matter how much it will cost (BBC NEWS, Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 7. Argumentative Essay On Climate Change Over the years there has been a lot of controversy on if climate change is an issue that needs to be discussed and solved. There is a constant debate among scientist on if human actions are contributing the changing of earth's climates. Climate change is defined as the change in average weather patterns for a specific region or Earth as a whole. This could include the change in an average temperature for a city or the amount a rainfall it receives (Dunbar, 2015). The main difference between weather and climate is the period of time specific patterns are recorded. Weather patterns are looked at over a much shorter period of time, meaning that these patterns are going to be more sporadic and change more frequently. Climate on the other had is recorded over a much longer period of time and usually show less drastic changes in patterns when compared to weather. Some people may argue that climate change is not an issue because Earth's temperature is always changing do to natural effects. What people don't realize is that human activity has effected the rate that earth's temperature is changing, and just the smallest changes can lead to drastic consequences (Dunbar, 2015). One of the main reasons that earth's temperatures are rising are due to greenhouse gases. Greenhouse gases are created when humans burn fossil fuels such as coals, natural gases, and oils to produce heat or electricity. These gases are then capable of trapping infrared radiation sent by the sun. Once these Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 8. Argumentative Essay On Screen Time Technology has been part of our daily live more frequently than before. Screen time has been more popularly used on kids and adolescents. On a daily bases many kids seem to spend more time inside on their tablets, instead of having to spend time with other kids. This is a problem that is becoming more popular over the years,on whether kids need to spend that much time on technology or not. Parents either seem to have strict technology usage, or they either don't. There has always been a huge controversy with experts, who either think that screen time is beneficial or could cause problems later on in life. There are many views towards this topic, from hurting kids brains, to helping them during school, and socially. Many people, including...show more content... In order to balance both there has to be comparative with the parents. Technology isn't good nor bad. It can only benefit the child if the parents put a limit to their time in the screen. Parents need to set up a schedule in where the kids will follow the time the kids will be using the tablet/ phone. As well have time to play with other kids, and just interact with there own family member. In the article, Screen time: A guide for parents states, " keeping computers out of the bedroom, and keep them in a common area in your house. This will make sure that the child isn't using their computers/ tablets during the time they have to rest. Kids need to have a good rest, and not having technology in their rooms because it could cause irregular sleep. Just having the parent take action in how much kids need to spend time in the screens can be a good start. Luscombe argues, " Take away the idea that all screens are bad, but the face–to –face time for young people is an important part of the socialization process". Parents seem to not understand that children need to develop good social skills, and that can only be done by interacting with others, and get a sense on others points of views. The dictionary defines a vegetarian as "A person who does not eat meat, and sometimes other animal products, especially for moral, religious or health reasons" ("Vegetarian Definition"). Practicing a religion that advocates vegetarianism is one of many reasons some people follow a vegetarian diet. A senior at Liberty–Benton High School who considers herself a pescatarian, a person whose only meat source is fish and seafood, promotes others to join in on a diet like hers. She claims that over the three years of her pescatarian diet she has become healthier and happier. Vegetarianism is a controversial topic, but overall, it creates a healthier lifestyle,...show more content... During the 80's and 90's, people became vegetarians more because of environmental issues. In the mid 90's, the Mad Cow disease, Listeria, and Salmonella break out occurred, making people more cautious of meat eating. The Animal Welfare Act was established in 1996 and signed by Lyndon B. Johnson (Animal Welfare Act). The Animal Welfare Act has authority over animals in laboratories, animal exhibitors, dealers who sell animals to research laboratories, dog and cat breeders, animal carriers, intermediate handlers, circuses, zoos, puppy roadside menageries, mills, and transporters of animals. Under the Act, people must provide their animals with adequate care and treatment in the areas of housing, handling, sanitation, nutrition, water, veterinary care, and protection from extreme weather and temperatures (Animal Welfare Act). People that disobey the Act can receive punishments such as revoked license, imprisonment, or a fine. Over one million birds and mammals are violently killed every hour in the United States, and an estimated 150 billion animals per year are murdered worldwide (Arora). Animal slaughterhouses for large food companies are known for animal cruelty and vegetarians recognize this. Many vegetarians also boycott places like SeaWorld who keep wild animals locked in cages. Instructors will expect well–written, tightly–argued essays, but that doesn't mean the paper needs to be twenty pages long or should refer to a dozen or more sources. What it does mean, however, is that a student takes a stand on an issue, presents his side of the argument while refuting his opposition, and also integrates outside sources that help support his point of view. • 11. Argumentative Essay On Single Parents Chris Polito Paola Brown Eng102 25 March 2008 Single Parent Struggle For many years, children growing up in a single parent family have been viewed as different. Being raised by only one parent seems impossible to many yet over the decades it has become more prevalent. In today's society many children have grown up to become emotionally stable and successful whether they had one or two parents to show them the rocky path that life bestows upon all human beings. The problem lies in the difference of children raised by single parents versus children raised by both a mother and a father. Does a child need both parents? Does a young boy need a father figure around? Does the government provide help for single parents? What role do step–parents and step–siblings play? With much speculation, this topic has become a very intriguing argument. What people must understand is that properly raising a child does not rely on the structure of a family but should be more focused on the process or values that are taught to these children as they learn to mature. Children of single parents can be just as progressive with emotional, social and behavioral skills as those with two parents. People claim that the only way for children to gain full emotional and behavioral skills is to be raised by both a mother and a father. When a topic such as this one has a broad amount of variables it is impossible to simply link these problems to only having one parent. In the article, "Single–parent families cause juvenile crime", author Robert L. Maginnis states, "Children from single–parent families are more likely to have behavior Polito 1 problems because they tend to lack economic security and adequate time with parents". The simple statement that raw criminals are products of single–parent adolescence is absurd. What this writer must understand is that it can be extremely difficult for one parent to raise a child by themselves for many reasons. A single–parent must work full time to be able to afford to provide for themselves and their child. They must also be able to still have time to offer an exuberant amount of emotional time for the well being of their child. However, even though this may seem impossible, it can be done. • 14. Argumentative Essay On Death And Dying Death and Dying is a normal process part of everyone's lifecycle, and yet, is often a hidden topic and not discussed on a regular basis. Death is something we learn about over our own lifetime as we lose those dear to our hearts and mourn the loss that we experience. No two people experience death and react to death in the exact same way. Often, differing family and cultural practices can influence how one reacts and copes with death or a loss. The earliest death that I experienced and remember was that of my grandpa Eugene. I was in kindergarten and it was shortly after we had gotten back from our family reunion out in California. I remember going up to North Dakota in march which and I couldn't understand why because we only went to go up there during the summer normally. I vaguely remember being very hungry and making my dad leave the funeral home to bring me to get food. I remember sleeping during the service and waking up just in time to go to the cemetery. I also remember throwing flowers into the hole in the ground because everyone else was doing it but I still didn't understand what was going on. The thing that I remember most about his death was walking up to the open casket. I didn't understand why my grandpa was laying like this and I didn't get what "grandpa died," meant. I stood there and kept poking his face, his eyes, and playing with his cheeks until my uncle saw what I was doing and pulled me away to go sit with my cousins. From this experience, I learned about what death is and how it happens to everyone at some point in their life. I learned a great deal about mourning through observing my family members share old photos and stories and crying it out with each other. At this age, I thought death was something that only happened to old people. I also through death is unexpected and sad for everyone because that is how the death of my grandpa was. My most significant death in my life was the loss my classmate, peer, and childhood friend Maddy from a car accident. These together were the most significant because I learned a great deal about life through the loss of both. I was a junior in high school on the first Thursday of class where we all sat knowing Maddy had died because we saw it Get more content on HelpWriting.net

One of the templates reads, "X claims that ___ rests upon the questionable assumption that ___"(Graff). On page 62, templates for agreeing are presented, one of which is, "X is surely right about ___ because, as she may not be aware, recent studies have shown"(Graff). • 18. What Is An Argumentative Passage Analysis What is an argumentative passage analysis? In a passage analysis, you take some piece of written prose which contains an argument and extract the argument from it. In order to do this, you must identify the conclusion of the argument, as well as any premises that support the conclusion, and structure them in such a way that the argument is clearly valid (if indeed it is valid in the passage). Here is an example of an argumentative passage: Socrates is a man, and all men are mortal. As such, Socrates is mortal. Properly analysed, this passage could be put into premise–conclusion form as follows: Socrates is a man. All men are mortal. в€ ґ Socrates is mortal. That was an easy example. Sometimes it's more difficult to tell which claim is the conclusion and which are the premises. Consider: But of course, this argument is terribly misguided. After all, by any reasonable definition of the word "human," an unborn child of any age is as much a human as you or me. That is why abortion is never permissible. The aforementioned argument is right to say that it is never permissible to kill humans, but wrong to say that fetuses are not humans. This passage is much more difficult to formalize. The first problem we encounter is that it's not clear which sentence contains the thesis. We may be tempted to look towards the first and last sentences for a clue, but it seems unlikely that either of these is the main point being argued by the author. At the very least, those do not seem to be the Get more content on HelpWriting.net
